Chapter 2 - Something Odd

Today was the start of the classes, and what better way to start classes than being stared at. Well... I was stared at because Rhyle was with me, someone even went to me and asked me why I was hanging out with Rhyle.

"Why are you with a weirdo? I mean he keeps quiet and doesn't even enter any groups, on top of that, he goes somewhere else during lunch break." The guy said

"What's the matter about minding your own business? It doesn't seem like you'll get affected by his behaviour." I replied

After I said that, he got mad and walked off.

The first subject was about magic, the teacher brought some small tubs and instructed us to make our own tub full using water magic.

"I'm sure most of you already know the chant of basic water magic "waterball". But for those of you who don't know, repeat what I am going to say. ' O god of water, one who governs the seas, oceans, lakes, and even ponds, give me but a portion of your magic, Waterball!"

A small ball made of water appeared in front of her and continually poured into the tub until it was full.

"Well let's start with you"

The teacher made each of them fill their individual tubs one by one until she reached me.

"Now it's your turn." She told me

I remembered that time that my carriage was attacked by goblins and I used chantless magic, so I tried to use it here to make things easier. I lifted up my finger and concentrated mana into its tip while also making an image of water in my mind. Water poured out of my finger endlessly but I was able to stop it before it spilled out.

"What's this?! You were able to use magic without chanting! Only those that have attained great blessings from the god of magic can use chantless magic, could it be that you have a lot of blessings from the 'God of magic Archanar'?"

"Well, I won't be surprised because a lot of great wizards came from this school after all. Keep up the good work!"

The next subject was about history.

"Now students, do you know about what happened 10,000 years ago?"

Someone raised a hand, it was a candidate for president of the student council. Sabrina von Bellaton, the first daughter of the Bellaton family.

"Sabrina."

"Yes, 10,000 years ago was the historical event called "The Great Celestial War". The Gods fought against the demon Gods and it destroyed "wall of seperation" which separates the "normal world" from the "demon portion" and made demons able to conquer some continents. The gods were able to defeat the primordial demon god and sealed him away. Ever since then, we were always at war with demons and other countries."

"Wonderful! As expected from one of the smartest people in the academy, but you missed a small portion of it. It is true that we are always at war with demons, but not all demons are evil, some live like other people, and some even served under other kingdoms."

The teacher kept talking about the demons, humans and other races, but other than that he also talked about historical books which showed that people once worshipped unknown gods which have long been forgotten after the war, the scholars decided to name these gods "the forgotten gods" stating that people once got more powerful blessings during the time they worshiped them, but those gods suddenly vanished and did not give blessings anymore. I do think that the goddess of reincarnation is one of the forgotten gods, but it's just a guess.

The next subject was about research and theories. I learned a lot of things during the subject just like how this world is estimated to be a billion years old and also having one-hundred sixty continents , one hundred fourty nine thousand countries , which made me think that this world is bigger than the sun of earth. The teacher also talked about the moon which I think is a little bit bigger than Jupiter but it has large rings made of ice and they have researched that there is a random time where the ring would be seen in the sky and at certain angles, the sun would be behind the rings which can make what they called a "particle solar eclipse" because the sun light would pass through the rings ande become a little weaker. There is also what they call "The Traveling Sea" which is a large body of water that floats between the moon and the planet which is about as high as the clouds, the sea also has types of fishes and plants that have never been seen anywhere else. These animals and plants have bubbles which makes them float above the sky, if the bubble breaks then the plant or animal will fall down getting these are hard so they are considered as rare delicacies. The last thing the teacher explained was the "floating mountains". These mountains look like normal mountains but during the time that the moon is directly above them they float for a short time until the moon passes. During that period, the top half of the mountain is submerged in the sea while the bottom half is under it. It has been known that they are able to float because there is a big crack in each of those mountains.

After the subject was the lunch break and as I was walking towards the cafeteria a loud bell rang and a magic-controlled box above some pillars (which were just speakers) told everyone to immediately go to the school's stage. Everyone hurried so I came along. After we reached it the principal told us that an army from another kingdom was going to seize the academy.

"Do not fret, for the royal army will come to our aid." He said.

Everything continued on like normal and I was finally able to get some lunch. The classes were still the same during the afternoon. The few days continued on like normal except for the day when the royal army arrived, everyone was exited that day except me, I do not understand why people will get exited because some knights from the same kingdom were showing up. I walked towards the next class when I saw a few people I've never seen in campus, I got suspicious of them so I hid while following behind. I noticed that they were wearing clothes that don't look like it's made in this world, they were wearing uniforms that most would see in some schools in earth. One of them noticed me and pointed out asking me a question.

"Hey, do you know where the principal's office is?"

Now that I've seen their faces, I was really sure that they were from Japan. I told them the direction of the office and they went their way. It was weird that only Four of them were there thinking that there should be more.

The next day I was walking with Rhyle and I was busy listening to Rhyle talking about how he was able to win in combat training against a senior when I bumped into someone. I looked up to see....
