Chapter 3 - Old New Acquaintance

"You are!"

I was surprised. Seeing that someone I knew in my old world was here.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

"It's alright, are you hurt?"

"No, but once again let me apologize, I'm sorry."

"By the way, my name is Yuna, Haruto Yuna. What's your name?"

"Nice to meet you, or rather nice to see you again."

She looked confused. It's mostly because I was in a different body.

"Seems like I look different from before, my name is Kuragami, Takahashi Kuragami." I told her

"Ehh! Takahashi-san! Didn't you die? Why are you here and why do you look different? And you're so young too." she asked

"Actually, I got reincarnated and it's been ten years since I've been in this world."

"Ten years? It's only been less than a year since you died."

"I guess that time moves slower here. Anyway, why are you here?"

"Well, long story short, our class was summoned here by many magicians and the king sent us here for training."

So that's why I saw other people here. I guess they really were summoned, but why? I thought to myself.

"I'm sure the others will also be surprised when they hear about you." she told me

"Let's keep it a secret then."

"Ok!"

While we were talking a bit more a noble came up to us and tried to touch Yuna's hair. I blocked it and he looked angry.

"What's the deal man! Do you know who I am? I am a duke's son!" he said

"I don't care if you are a noble or not. I won't let you do anything bad to Yuna-san."

"What did you say!" he said trying to punch me

I blocked it, using magic to make a blade and pointing it towards his neck. He leaped backwards and unsheathed his sword.

"I'll make you regret this!"

He charged forward. I didn't notice Yuna chanting some sort of magic and as she finished it she summoned a sword made of light. She quickly ran towards him and slashed his sword, cutting it. He fell back and tried to stand up but Yuna stood in front of him.

"Never do that again and we won't report you to the principal."

He stood up and ran away. After that some of her classmates went towards her.

"Here you were, we thought you got lost somewhere... Huh? Do you know this guy?"

"Nice to meet you" I said

"My name is Wil."

"Nice to meet you too." They introduced themselves and went their way with Yuna.

"Well, What was I doing again?" I asked myself.

I walked back to the classroom and opened the door. The teacher was already starting class, I felt embarrassed and sat down on my chair.

"Why were you late?" asked Rhyle

"It's nothing important." I replied

Days went by, the enemy's army arrived a few kilometers near the academy and the Kingdom's army went to fight them but a spy that the Kingdom sent came and told them that the enemy's number is larger than ours.

"The enemy army is roughly five hundred thousand." the spy said

"We only have three hundred and eighty two thousand soldiers, not including the elite knights. How are we going to do this?" the army leader asked himself.

"This academy has many strong students. We can certainly help you out." said the principal

"Thank you, but I don't think all of them want to go to war."

"Then we will get volunteers!" replied the principal

The teachers went to each rooms getting volunteers to go to war. Many were hesitant and some said they would enter. Among those people were the heroes. I also participated. The teachers made us pick whatever weapon we would use and I picked a pair of daggers. After a few hours we were ready at the gate of the academy.

"Everyone! Today, we go to war. Fight with pride, do not be afraid of death! Show your strength. Charge!" The leader shouted

We marched forward. After a while we reached the place, the enemy was waiting and we stood still. Both leaders went to the middle and greeted each other, they went back and got ready for battle.

"Charge!" both leaders shouted

Every person ran forward with swords unsheathed. Mages were chanting and archers were raining down arrows. Some students got traumatized by the many deaths of soldiers. I ran in between the enemies, avoided their attacks and slashed them. Whilst I was slashing and stabbing I was also casting fire magic on the tip of the daggers, burning the insides and killing them in seconds.

Both leaders fought in the middle, blocking and countering each other's attacks. I got distracted by their fight that I got hit on my head by a stray rock bullet, thank goodness it was weak. I fell unconscious and soon found myself in a dark room with a person wearing a dark cloak, only the mouth was visible and he looked like he was smiling.

"I'll help you out." the man said

Suddenly, a bright light appeared and I found myself somewhere else. I was in a plain at night, and a yellowish light was above me and it split into many fragments. Soon there was a sword that was stuck in the ground, the blade's color was green with red lines streaking across, the handle was beautiful, it's color was light gray with designs of vines around it. I tried to take the sword but my hand passed through and I regained consciousness.

"What happened here!?" I asked myself in shock

before my eyes was the same battlefield except, pools of blood spread everywhere and my allies where sitting on the ground looking at me. The army leader ran towards me and held my shoulders hard.

"What did you do!? You didn't tell us you could defeat and army by yourself!" he shouted

"No no no! I fell unconscious. What happened here anyways?"

"Well."

He started explaining to me what happened.

After I fell unconscious my body moved like I was still awake. My eyes were open, and I walked normally. I started floating and held my hand towards the sky.

"Dark vines." my body said

Large dark vines appeared from the ground and carried my allies away. The enemy tried to chase after them but the same dark vines formed around them, trapping them inside.

"Hero class magic. Instant ash. 'Lightning drop'."

A large dark cloud appeared in the sky and a bright white drop fell down. It hit the person in the middle of the enemy army. It summoned hundreds of lightning bolts that formed a teardrop shape, incinerating them and turning them into ash.

Going back to the present: The knights were alright, some were injured but there were no deaths whatsoever. We went back to the academy and got some rest, then the knights left after a few days.

Somewhere far, someone was waiting tied in shackles and filled with burns and bruises.

"I will meet you someday."
