6 My World

*ZZZzzzzzZZZzzzzzz*

"Gah!"

I abruptly awoke to what felt like a bunch of needles stabbing me in the face, and opening my eyes I saw the rapidly fleeing form of Biollante in the distance.

"Oi! Get back here you little shit!"

Several thousand years had already passed, with Biollante reaching about a quarter of my size. This also increased the potency of her bite, with her now being able to pierce my skin… if I was asleep and unresponsive for a few hours.

Of course my regeneration made any actual damage a non-issue. No… what made me chase after her was the fact that she'd interrupted me napping… again! She knew what she was doing, and it was completely on purpose.

she'd just become one hell of a brat after spending so long around me, and I was beginning to regret not bonking her on the head whenever she bit me so long ago.

I was faster… a LOT faster than her, but over time she'd figured out routes near the crystal pillars, ones which she was small enough to easily weave around, while I was too large and had to take longer detours… occasionally I'd break through them anyway just to throw her off, but it was annoying since I'd have to repair them later.

Running after her, I passed by giant forests full of colorful and deadly wildlife, all of which shared traits with either myself or Biollante- Wyvern-like or otherwise reptilian creatures for me, and rather aggressive sentient vines and flowers for Biollante.

Finally catching up to her, I dropped down from above, landing in front of her and pinning her to the ground with a single hand, while she began flailing her vines all over the place in a desperate bid for freedom.

"Now Biollante… what have I told you about waking me up like that?"

I leaned my face in close and enjoyed watching her eyes shift around in panic.

"Biollante…"

She ended up flopping to the ground in defeat before offering up her 4 primary vines… which I ripped out and swallowed before letting her go.

Well at least something good came from this… though sadly my height had stopped increasing at 500 meters.

As both Biollante and myself had absurd regeneration, eating parts of each other wasn't too big of a deal, and I'd implemented this punishment rather recently in a bid to get all of her mutations and abilities. My reasoning being that since she could tear off parts of me occasionally, it was only fair if I returned the favor.

Ironically, within less than a decade since implementing this punishment, I'd already achieved 100%... Little brat that Biollante is. Though for all my complaints, having her around made my life less monotonous if nothing else, and every now and then I got lucky and unlocked another of her mutations or abilities.

During this time, I'd managed to remake the entrance to the surface (Far more solid and hidden than before), as well as hunt down and eat a few of the more interesting Kaiju- Like a giant trilobite looking creature called 'Trilopod', a giant turtle I initially mistook for Gamera, but was actually called 'Kamerus', and weirdest of all, a giant goat-headed and cloven-hoofed humanoid called 'Baphomet'.

Trilopod had surprisingly given me an ability called 'Blood Imitation', allowing me to copy any abilities of a creature I'd ingested a sufficient amount of blood from… A great ability for anyone who isn't me. Kamerus had given me an ability called 'Process Substance', allowing me to gain small amounts of biomass from rock and stone (*Dwarf noises*), and rather disappointingly from Baphomet, I'd gotten an ability called 'Ram'... Yeah real handy, not sure how I'd manage without it.

There were a few more, but none even remotely as interesting. There were some interesting events though, like a fight between Godzilla and a giant caterpillar, with Godzilla emerging as the victor and eating it, before charging up an attack for a few days before firing it into space. I'm not really sure why he did that… but I knew getting hit by it would definitely have killed me.

Not long after this, I noticed how, during an assault by Godzilla on the largest remaining group of humans, he was confronted by an enraged Mothra. Ah… so the caterpillar was Battra then? It would explain why she was so ferocious during the encounter, an encounter which resulted in a draw surprisingly- with Godzilla being driven off, and Mothra being wounded and laying eggs for the humans to transport around the planet. Sadly, she didn't appear to have a good healing factor, since when she was confronted by Godzilla next, she wasn't able to survive.

Other interesting events were the total conversion of above-ground flora and fauna changing over time to suit Godzilla, and like mine and Biollantes haven, they'd begun taking on certain traits of his- like the plants being almost metallic, and the few animals I'd seen being basically mini-versions of him (biologically speaking. They still differed appearance-wise). This made them all emit some level of electromagnetic interference, and because of that the trees began emitting a pollen that created massive clouds capable of slightly hindering my senses.

A few thousand more years passed, and the eggs of Mothra began hatching around the planet, and they all spent little time before starting a fight against Godzilla. Something which ended even worse than previously since Godzilla was now bigger and stronger than oh-so long ago. This is one of the few times I emerged from my lair, specifically to eat some of the Mothra corpses that were left lying around… something Godzilla didn't like but couldn't do jack shit about. After the whole debacle that could generously be described as a battle, there was only a single egg left in what used to be Japan.

A few thousand more years passed, and I decided to pay Mothra junior a visit, something which turned out to be my favorite event out of them all- granted it was only the egg form, but she was the only Kaiju aside from Biollante that was friendly. I'd spent a few years observing the tribe that had begun to worship her before she contacted me using telepathy. She was quite excited to chat about the Houtua (apparently the name of the tribe) and their customs, eventually teaching me their language.

And I had to admit she was right to be optimistic. They respected life and were very kind people… a bit too kind if you ask me, but I suppose that's a good fault to have. I was a bit confused about how the group came to be, considering after the ships had left Earth, humans had been in a shitty situation where those that remained were either ruthless or dead, but eventually discovered that they'd taken on traits of Mothra just like the fauna had for Godzilla.

Having taken a shine to her people myself, I'd created multiple smaller crystals of several different types for their use- nothing dangerous, but I made sure they had access to what was basically gems and glass, which had many mundane uses. I also traded with Mothra- where she taught me how to be more proficient with telepathy, and I created multiple storm crystals to speed up her growth as payment. Something I found rather heartwarming was how her people had begun praising me as a God of storms and wealth, and occasionally would leave tributes for me in a nearby shrine. For this, I made sure to lend them aid against the occasional natural disaster or wandering Kaiju.

Unfortunately, rather close to the cave system that they'd claimed was perhaps the single most deadly entity on the planet, and no, I don't mean Godzilla… though he was nearby too which was annoying. In the cratered remains of Mount Fuji, the mostly destroyed body of Mecha-Godzilla had begun spreading out and converting everything nearby into nanometal. I understood enough science fiction to be wary of a gray goo scenario- that being where it just started converting and replicating without limit, effectively destroying everything it could until running out of materials.

Based on this, I visited it at least once a decade prepared to destroy it. I hadn't eaten it yet if only because I wasn't 100% sure that it wouldn't consume me back. Scratch that, I knew it would try, and that was enough of a deterrent. Its rate of expansion was low though, with it seemingly only expanding by a few meters every couple of years.

Ugh…. may as well visit now that I'm up.

I made a giant plasma crystal before handing it to Biollante, for whatever reason they were like candy to her, and the one I'd made was 3 times her size… which should keep her happy and busy for a month or more.

I then made my way out from the exit, before shooting out from the underwater entrance and into the sky above. During my short flight, I had the fun experience of witnessing a pod of whales- now Kaiju-fied, jumping out of the water and playing around below. If this were still man's world, they'd certainly be classed as fearsome monsters, yet as is, I found them rather cute.

As I was watching them play and just relaxing in the sky, I suddenly felt an… anomaly of sorts appear just outside the atmosphere, and looking up I was able to see the ship that humanity had left on several thousand years prior. Technically this was the first time I was seeing it with my physical eyes, but I recognized the energy signature it emitted.

'So… they're back? Finally! I've spent too damn long waiting for this moment!'

I cloaked myself barely a second after they appeared, and went to hover over Godzilla's territory, AKA what used to be Japan. Not long after, I could see multiple dropships leaving the main ship and entering the atmosphere, before spreading out and setting up landing sites and bases of operation beneath me.

Barely a few hours after landing, they were attacked by the local megafauna- the wyvern-esque Servum, and when trying to regroup, they encountered what they assumed to be Godzilla… buuuut, was actually just Godzilla Filius- a piece of flesh that Godzilla had lost during his battle with Battra which had eventually grown and formed a brand new Godzilla.

Fuckin starfish…

They fought him for a bit before regrouping. Then after a rousing speech from their new edgy commander, they began a new operation of getting Filius' attention by shooting at him with their hover-bikes and clearing a path by using their landing ships so that they could lead him toward a trap- collapsing 2 opposing cliff edges on top of him and pinning him in place, before shooting at him with the artillery and waiting for his shield to collapse so that they could destroy the dorsal fins generating it.

Filius began regenerating the dorsal fins, leading the edgy commander and multiple others to jump on his back and manually insert EMP probes… which very quickly caused enough disruption to make Filius explode… rather spectacularly too I might add.

Though a good portion of his body was still intact… and after lowering my altitude a bit, I grabbed Filius' extra crispy remains with my tail, before hovering back up into the clouds and out of sight, where I swallowed him in one bite.

[Godzilla Earth DNA: 11%]

Knowing that Filius would come to be is the first reason why I hadn't eaten Godzilla yet… the second being that I'd rather eat his current stronger form, and third being that I wanted him to be a distraction for Ghidorah later.

Speaking of the big G, he was waking up in a shitty mood after finding out that what equated to a son for him, had been killed. Just him waking up was similar to a volcanic eruption with how it sent boulders flying for several kilometers, not to mention the earthquake from his steps. The humans (understandably) started hauling ass away from him, but far too slowly as a large portion of them were killed off by Godzilla's sonic roar attack, and a swipe of his tail that caused a massive portion of the forest to ignite and explode.

Interestingly, he appeared angrier at me than them, and I knew my cloak couldn't hide from his eyes as he shot a beam at me which I reflected back using the scales I'd received from Mothra. Just to piss him off, I shot a ball of sticky acid right at his face, and watched on amused as he struggled to reach up and remove it.

Wait your turn pineapple.

He didn't fire any more shots at me, but he did roar quite a bit and stomp around in a huff. I just made sure to loiter in the clouds and keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't pick a fight with the Houtua that were helping the survivors.

Well, a day's worth of loitering later and I noticed how the remaining humans were heading for Mechagodzilla city. Events played out mostly the same, with edgelord main character being rescued by the twins, then the humans all getting captured, interrogated, and finally led toward the city. With the city starting operations and beginning to prepare to face Godzilla, and lowering their obscuring shield a bit later in a bid to increase the rate of production. I meanwhile was up in the clouds catching the occasional Servum and eating them like popcorn.

Like Godzilla, I could've gotten rid of Mechagodzilla city… but again it stood for multiple reasons, 2 of them in fact. The first being that it was needed to make sure Ghidorah could be summoned, and the second being so that once I had a method to resist its attack, I'd be able to consume it. And wouldn't you know it… a certain Asymmetrically Permeable Shield Organ might do just that.

Back on topic-

Godzilla woke up the moment the city dropped their obscuring shield, and after firing a beam which was deflected, he began heading straight for the facility on foot. Elf boi was able to repair the tool to summon Ghidorah a little while before Godzilla had reached the trap point, which Godzilla was baited into by the new mechs the city had made. Once Godzilla reached the trap point, it exploded and dropped him into a narrow passage that was then flooded with nanometal which hardened in place and caused him to get stuck.

Then they fired 2 massive EMP harpoons into his back expecting him to die like Filius had… something that quickly failed as the temperature began rising as the energy was converted to heat. In the original story, the pilots of the new mechs begin being converted into nanometal, which fails to work on edgelord due to his being in contact with the scales of Mothra from the Houtua tribe. However it kills the other pilot which was his friend… but not this time.

I grabbed her mech with my tail the moment the conversion began, and ripped it open to retrieve her. She was still injured from the partial conversion, but alive, and I went a bit further away to drop her off with the Houtua twins in the distance.

Now, I'm hungry for robots!

With the shield up, Godzilla indisposed, and the Bilusaludo aliens currently trying to become one with Mechagodzilla and willing to convert the planet into nanometal, I took that as my queue to act- diving into an outer portion of the city, before moving inward and tearing into the structures.

It took me less than a minute to break into the control room, seeing the already nanometal version of the Bilusaludo commander looking up at me with rage, all while railgun slugs and missiles failed to pierce my skin, and nano-metal spikes were stopped short of touching me.

So long as I could swallow something, it was fuel, and before the commanders horrified eyes, I swallowed the head of Mechagodzilla along with the command center.

[Evolving…]

"AHHHH!!"

I had to quickly fly away from the city as I felt my body shifting and painfully burning both inside and out. No! I didn't want to evolve yet!

[Notice: Several abilities and mutations can be combined. Proceed?]

"DO IT!"

I crashed a few hundred kilometers away just as the pain overwhelmed me. But my mind stayed active, as I felt my body shift and change over and over again. It went on and on, what felt like years of continued pain… yet I was unconnected to it. And suddenly… the pain faded into the background, and I finally opened my eyes… to a sea of stars… no… galaxies!

All swirling around a central point of deepest black, and as I looked towards it, I noticed how it seemed to shift and… look at me. I only now understood what I was looking at, having been too focused on what was before me to notice that which stood just a bit beyond.

Roots of white stretching further than I could possibly comprehend, and at their center a dragon of equally unfathomable proportions, his eye alone seeming to dwarf reality. Just looking at it gave me a headache, as there seemed to be layers one moment and nothing the next.

"Hahahaha… Well, aren't you dramatic?" A thousand voices that were one echoed in my head, making the headache I was feeling many times worse.

'Wha-?'

"Silence hatchling. You are here only to answer a question."

'...'

"Good. Now… What do you aspire towards? And answer me truthfully, your existence depends on it."

What did I aspire towards? I didn't ever stop to consider it…

My actions in Pacific Rim were for survival… yet beyond a certain point it turned into greed, greed for power. For security… for peace of mind that I wasn't among the weak who would die or be consumed. But what about Atlantis? Was it strength again? Then what about Godzilla Earth's reality? Was all I did in an effort to become stronger?

Strength?... What a joke. Knowing how vast at least part of the universe now was, the strength I'd achieved only amounted to that… a joke. What am I before someone who can haul around planets? What am I to someone who can destroy stars with a thought… or erase reality with even more ease?

…Nothing. And the very thought infuriates me. To know that I am only at the bottom of an infinite amount of wells, where reaching the top of one only sees you back at the bottom of another.

But… even if it takes me eternity, and even if it results in my end before reaching my goal… 'I WILL FIGHT TO MAKE SURE I MOVE AS FAR FORWARD AS POSSIBLE!'

"HAHAHAHA, WELL SAID!" In my musings I'd partially forgotten where I was, as a thousand voices laughed upon my proclamation.

"Hehehehe… You… are worthy of holding my favor. This time, and this time only, shall I interfere." The pain which I had become numb to, faded as if it was only an illusion. But before I could celebrate, they continued- "But know this, should you ever lose that spark, that willingness to fight… then you shall be forever cut off from my grace, and shall lose all of the power that it entails. I name you Pavoros! Go forth and claim what is yours!"

And like that I was somehow back in Japan, with the nanometal having fully integrated with my body.

Hahaha… I'm stronger than ever. I could feel a strange buildup happening in the clouds from the distance…

And it seems Ghidorah has dropped in… Let's go say hi…

A burst of plasma scorched the dirt beneath me as I was sent rocketing into the air, before my wings unfurled and I shot off toward the golden noodle. Afterall… I can't have him destroying my world can I?

Hmm… what would I be… if I ate an eater of worlds?

…Let's find out!
