5 Meeting the Big G

The next thing I knew, I was belly-flopping into the middle of the ocean. And dimensional travel still feels like shit. Bleh.

This seems to be… Earth again. And rather modern too if the signals in the upper atmosphere are anything to go by. Funny how that feels strange. Or perhaps not? When I've spent the majority of my waking moments on an alien planet in a giant polluted ocean…

Speaking of… this water, while not as polluted as what I'm used to, is just terrible. Even at my size, I can almost taste the plastic on the breeze. And is that…? Hmm… quite a bit of radiation.

Well, same deal, let's check this place out. I cloaked myself and shot into the air, before beginning to circle the planet. Alright… this place is definitely a bit ahead of what I thought… and there's also the elephant in the room.

Or the big ass lizard should I say. Cos I'm pretty sure that's Godzilla wrecking havoc below me. He seems to have just broken through a massive blockade, and appears to be just killing everything in sight. He's also… fucking tiny. Like… he's small enough to fit in my hand. It narrows down the version I'm looking at, to either one of the older versions (which seems unlikely considering how he looks… and this isn't Japan)... or the version from the anime, Godzilla Earth.

Yeah I'd say it'd be Earth, since despite being the largest Godzilla, he's unironically one of the smallest at the beginning. Though even when pint-sized, he's far from the weakest… a certain image of hundreds of craters comes to mind…

On that exact note, I believe this may be the point where that image was created, since I can sense dozens of missiles heading toward him. Yeah no thanks, I'll just sit back and watch this play out.

As the missiles all started impacting the area around him, I temporarily went blind due to the increase in brightness, and only several seconds later did the sound and shockwaves reach me-

*BABABABABOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!*

The explosion and shockwaves just continued for several minutes straight, as I lost sight of Godzilla in the middle of it all- the only thing letting me know he was still alive was the occasional blue beam hitting a missile out of the air.

And once every nuclear bomb had been exhausted… There he stood without a scratch.

Christ on a bike… He's even following the rule of cool by walking out from the giant mushroom cloud and not looking back at it…

I watched him continue his stroll, as he casually shot down any aircraft that came close, and a bit later when they got the message and he was left alone. There was nothing left for him to destroy, and he faced no opposition as he continued his trek across the now radioactive and barren land that had once been the east coast of America. Several days later he slipped into the ocean, and that was that.

I was tempted to eat him, and don't be fooled into thinking I couldn't. For as powerful as he seems, I know I'd be able to kill him or otherwise deal with him. The shield that protected him from the nukes still used energy that I could absorb, and when it's down I doubt even his regeneration can help against all the heat I could hit him with… even his larger form from the future, though that ones more unknown, I wouldn't say that I stand no chance or that I'd be folded. He'd still be slow as molasses, and I do possess at my disposal all the tools I'd theoretically need to put him down for good. And if not? He was still light enough to just throw into the sun.

I was pulled out of my musing when I sensed another Kaiju waking up near where he'd passed. Doubling back, I watched as a nearby mountain cracked apart, and a giant… spider, crawled out. I wasn't scared or disgusted by arachnids, but I just realized that if I cook it, it should be similar to crab!

Like Godzilla, it was barely a fraction of my size, so I was able to swoop down and put a claw through its head before it even knew I was nearby. I may regret coming down so fast though… since its central carapace was basically mush… eh, food's food.

A few seconds of boiling in the upper atmosphere and presto! Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Crab complete! Not nearly filling enough sadly, even if I really didn't need food.

[Stinger: Gain a stinger that can be released from inside your tongue, or from the end of your tail.]

Well that gave less than I'd hoped for… neat ability though. I can sense a few more Kaiju near where I got my lunch, some praying mantis looking things, but they're so weak that I'm not interested in eating them… besides, that's enough bugs for today.

I continue looking around the planet- sensing sleeping Kaiju all over the place, and getting a feel for humanity. What I see leaves me less than interested in saving their asses. Pollution levels have been dialed up to not just 11, but more like 13.

There's enough nuclear waste in the ocean that it's a damn wonder anyone can take a dip without glowing green, and the plastic! I can literally smell it in every corner of the globe, the few reefs I've seen are just covered in it.

It's actually quite comical just how much they've managed to fuck up the place. But not in the funny way, more the dark and somber way. The only animals not on the endangered species list are either too small and numerous- bugs and whatnot, pest species like rats and pigeons, or livestock… sometimes a combination of any or all of the 3.

I swear I can hear the planet itself begging for me to eradicate them. And while I won't, It's not out of a want to protect them, but due to knowing how this story plays out. They're already screwed and they don't even know it.

It should only be a few years before they're forced off-world, before then returning 20,000 years or so later. And with all the Kaiju currently around, and what's going to happen to the planet… Well, I'll have my hands full before they leave, until they get back, and then after they return. Saying that, I'll still have a scant few years of naptime.

I made myself a home under the cozily radioactive crater on the east coast of the United States. It took barely any effort to create a lovely haven utilizing plasma crystals to keep the place constantly heated.

3 years went by before anything major occurred- again Godzilla related, as he arrived in Europe to start a massacre. I only briefly woke up to check what was happening before going back to sleep.

During this sleep I was dimly aware of multiple ships landing around the planet, which would be the arrival of the humanoid alien races… both of which were their own brand of stupid. One loves monsters enough to want to become them, and the other praised a literal destroyer of worlds.

Along with that were multiple Kaiju showing up… but aside from Godzilla, who was off the menu for now, none of the rest were worth the effort it'd take to catch them. Then came the day I received visitors. I could feel how the radiation around me was dwindling, and how multiple people and machines were present on the surface. Damn tourists.

I've spent too long here anyway, I'll go see if Everest is vacant.

*CRACK-CRACK-BOOM*

I pushed the ground above me away, over 200 meters worth of dirt, rock and glass being pushed upward before cascading down like water off of my back. All around me were screaming people and tanks full of… something. I could tell that they'd sprayed whatever was in there around the place, and that had somehow lowered the ambient radiation.

Whatever, their Radaway is more of an annoyance than anything else. I unfurled my wings and took to the sky- instantly killing hundreds of people nearby before I cloaked and faded from view.

?!

Hahaha, perfect timing! Just after I'd woken up, and as I was getting close to the Himalayas, I felt another Kaiju wake up. And not like those tiny pathetic excuses that are weak as hell, or bullshit like Godzilla. Whatever it was, was large, strong and had enough energy to remind me of the Leviathans from the previous world.

I actually had to double back along my route, and when I was able to spot it… well well well, if it isn't my latest meal-to-be. Below me was a giant green mixture somewhere between reptile and vine creature, with 4 stumpy bottom legs, a tail reminiscent of Godzilla, a glowing orange stomach and a crocodilian head with 3 sets of tusks…

Biollante.

I'm not particularly fond of greens… but for you, I'll make an exception. She was still far smaller than me, at barely a tenth of my size… but that still made her a hell of a lot bigger than every other Kaiju I'd seen. Some of them didn't even deserve the name!

She appeared to be fighting the military, and a giant drill thing, the drilldo if you will, and it was trying to make a path through her insides. No matter how I tried to change that sentence in my head, it still came out sounding dirty. Oh well.

Swooping in from the sky, I interrupted their back and forth by ripping the drill out of her stomach and sending it flying into the distance. Biollante seemed rather pleased about this all things considered, until I jabbed my tail into her stomach and grabbed what I assumed was her heart/nucleus. Which I then ripped out, causing the rest of her body to turn to ash, and, without any further ado, made my way back towards the himalayas.

I hadn't broken the core of Biollante yet, instead keeping it in my mouth where I could destroy it whenever I wanted. I could feel that she wasn't dead yet, although she was understandably pissed off, frightened and annoyed, as Titan-Speak helpfully informed me.

On the short trip back I discovered some interesting tidbits about her, first and foremost that she was absolutely a species closely related to this world's Godzilla. What with the tail, plant-like nature that they both possessed, and the smell that made it clear they shared similar blood… or sap? I mean the Godzilla of this world was an advanced form of plant life, so I'm not surprised, but I am starting to get an idea…

I arrived at the base of mount Everest and began digging down. I'd switched Biollantes core back to being held in my tail, which was basically a mini-mouth anyway, and was capable of killing her just as easily. I'd done this to free up my actual mouth to be able to melt the walls of the hole I was creating- making the tunnel have a smooth entrance the entire way down… and it was a very far drop- of course like a sink trap as I'd been shown in Atlantis… didn't wanna flood the place by accident.

Now for the more tedious part. I started digging out and melting/compressing the surrounding stone, while also creating massive columns of crystal to hold up the ceiling. I then continued this for several months, eventually clearing an area a few tens of kilometers wide, with only the occasional giant crystal pillar being seen holding up the ceiling that was now high enough to allow me a good amount of room.

I wasn't done yet, but I'd felt another plant-like Kaiju waking up, and flew out to go grab it. Ironically I still hadn't eaten Biollante, and she seemed to have calmed down after telling her about what I wanted her for… which may have caused a misunderstanding as she switched from hostile to clingy overnight. Either way, her core was still grasped in my tail.

Arriving above a city- correction, arriving above a city in France, I noticed how it was on fire and how a rather advanced military force was killing… Zilla's? Uh… there's thousands of them going around, majority of those being infants, but there are a few who have reached adulthood, can humanity even survive this? Can the planet survive this? Zilla is practically a plague!

Appearing near the city center, my landing killed several hundred people, along with several hundred Zilla, and I spent the next hour just strolling around using my tongue like an anteater on every Zilla that crossed my path. Each individual one barely gave me 0.1% DNA or less, and my size didn't increase at all even when I'd gotten 100%.

[Biomass: 1,611,556 -> 1,622,829]

[Zilla DNA: 100%]

[Abilities Gained: Asexual Reproduction]

My eye twitched. That's all?! I had to eat several thousand just for that?!

I'd say this was a waste of my time if it weren't worth making sure these things didn't spread to cover the planet. The military at least seemed to have gotten things under control now, though I found it funny that wherever I walked, they made sure to abandon. And during my feast not a single shot from their weapons had landed on me. Seems they do have some common sense…

On my way back home, I noticed how a different Kaiju was heading for Paris, yet to me it just felt similar to Zilla… which means it wasn't worth my time. I continued my plans to make my new home rather enjoyable, eventually spending a month straight creating a large crystal on the ceiling to provide heat and light, which imitated the sun by dimming and brightening over a 24-hour cycle.

I also found multiple portions of intact forest, which I ripped up and began planting all over the place, along with ferrying in huge amounts of water to create underwater lakes, in addition to the constant expansion which made the area equivalent to a country. Sometime during this I'd released Biollante, who had restructured herself and began helping with the plant growth and whatnot. She was also quite attached to me now, which for some reason meant she kept trying to bite me constantly. She couldn't get through my defenses, and I honestly found it cute in the same way that a puppy chews on your shoes, so I let her continue.

Recently I'd felt Godzilla wake up, as he began scouring the planet and killing anything vaguely human he came across. More alarmingly, I'd also felt humanity setting up a lot of nukes nearby- over a thousand for sure.

I was far enough underground that it wouldn't be too large of an issue, all the same, I reinforced all of the surroundings using both silk, and crystal that put diamond to shame. Biollante helped by lacing the pillars with her vines too, which earned her quite a bit of praise.

As time went on, I was able to feel Godzilla getting closer and closer to where we lived, and when he finally got overhead-

*RUMBLE*

We didn't exactly hear a boom, but the entire cavern shook, as dust fell from the ceiling, the lakes churned, a few pillars shattered and we had the mother of all earthquakes. However these were expected, what wasn't, was the entire shaft connecting us to the surface collapsing, and the underground sanctuary we'd built being shifted several kilometers deeper underground- the only reason it stayed in one piece being due to all the work we'd put in to make it strong. Luckily, aside from having to rebuild some pillars, and re-sealing some collapsed portions, it had managed to make it through rather well.

I could tell that Godzilla had also fallen several kilometers deep, and was currently buried under a mountain of rubble which he was doing his best to cut through with his atomic breath. And credit where it's due, a few months later he'd successfully made it back to the surface to continue his rampage.

I followed his progress for a little bit longer, and eventually felt the human ships leaving the planet- taking that as my cue to have a proper nap. I looked over my status a single time, and gave Biollante a pat, before falling asleep and waiting for something interesting to happen.
