Contract: Making Of A Hero (MLBB Story)

It's raining heavily outside, a middle-aged man with his umbrella rushed home. He was walking for miles from his job hunt which did not end well for him. He found no job and was humiliated by his interviewers. Tears of sadness can be seen from his eyes as he runs to the comfort of his home. Old and jobless this describes the man named Simon Vulcan. A name which he used to describe himself who is ashamed even to describe his real name to others. To him he is a failure, someone in life who is destined for nothingness. He unlocked the keys of his house and there his mother was eager to hear any news of his job hunt. His face however shows disappointment which infuriated his mother. He continued to the doorway and ignored his mother who reprimanded him.

"You have been rejected from a job again? For how long are we going to let you goof off like that!? Answer me Simon Vulcan?" An angry mom yelled at her erring son in the middle of the night.

This happened for hundred times already. Failed to find a job that suits his skills. The sad thing is that he have nothing of worth to any company he wishes to apply. His knowledge and skills is just not enough. Worse many companies prefer candidates who are younger than him which puts him out to the bracket of selection. Simon went downstairs to his basement where his room was located. It was awfully untidy and reeks of sweat and smells that you do not wish to describe. He calls the place "the sanctuary". The place where he retreats to release all the pain he experienced.

It was already 9:00 PM, the time when he wish to do his favorite activities. Unknown to many he have some skills that he could brag. He is good with the guitar although he cannot sing. He can write but needs refinement. The only thing he lacks is decent education and work background that may land him a decent job. Nonetheless he let none of these matter for now and releases his stress with the activities he is doing.

"It's time to play!" He said and opens the application Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in his phone.

He plays for two hours until it is nearly quarter to 12:00 AM. His favorite characters were Alpha, Gusion, Lesley and Minotaur. These are the characters he plays mostly in his games. These characters have a special place in his heart and wishes that one day he would join them in their adventures in the land of dawn. His eyelids are now heavy a sign that he is already sleepy. He prepares his bed and lies down to sleep.

"I wonder what may happen to me tomorrow... Or my future perhaps." Simon said with tears flowing from his eyes.

He cried again once more to vent out his frustrations. His screams muffled by the sound of the heavy rain pouring from the rooftop. He cried himself to sleep that night.

BANG, BANG, BANG

His mother knocked the door of his room angrily.

"What...?" Simon groans in his bed.

BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG

His mother again knocked the door and warning Simon to wake up or she will break the door.

"WHAT!? Are you breaking the door?" Simon shouted in reply.

"Enough sleeping you good for nothing lowlife! Someone wants to see you!" His mom shouted outside his room.

"That is strange?" Simon puzzled but then continued on his sleep.

All of a sudden the door broke and his mom grabbed him by his ear. The frightened man woke up and was dragged outside his room.

"Hello Simon!" A familiar voice said.

"Taffy? What on earth are you doing here?" Simon asked him.

"I believe you forgot what you promised me." Taffy gave a mischievous smirk at his friend who was clueless about what he was saying. He is hiding something in his back and then his goons entered the house and was breaking stuff.

"Hey, what do you think you are doing!? Simon you have not done anything wrong to this man are you? You are not in debt or anything bad!?" His mom furiously asked to him.

"This man owes us a lot madam. But to save his ass I believe you have something of value for the sake of redeeming this lowlife." Taffy replied.

"We are just a poor family sir. If you want you can take his sorry ass and leave this house. This nuisance needs to..."

Before his mom could finish talking she was silenced by one of the goons. Simon was hit in the head by something and lost his consciousness.

"Urgh... where am I?" In pain Simon wakes up into a unusual place.

"You owe us a lot Mr. Vulcan... I hope you are ready to pay what you owe." Taffy said on his chair in front of him.

Bang!

A gunshot was heard inside the place. All of a sudden a warm sensation was felt. It was his abdomen he was shot. His senses faded and his eyelids become heavy. He stares at the ceiling blankly as his consciousness fade.

"Alas, this is my end!" He said in pain.

"We found someone! Hurry up! He still alive!" The warm sensation was gone but the pain in his wound was still pulsating. He could hear the commotion from people who seemed to be curious about him.

"His clothes are different where could he be possibly from? A foreigner perhaps?" The people around him were talking.

"Back off!" Knights suddenly came to disperse the crowd.

"This must be him!" The captain of the knights said. "Back to work everyone this nobody is none of your business!!!"

"My lord this looks like an ordinary man." One of the knights said.

"Some experiment has gone awry. We should find a way to dispose of this man and..." Before the captain could finish a professor from the Magic Academy arrived.

"This is rather a strange occurrence. This man has the capability of talented sorcerer yet his potential for warfare cannot be underestimated." The professor said.

"We have enough with the meddling of the Magic Academy into our matters!" The captain said.

"There were no orders of him to be disposed. It's not wise to take matters in your own hands captain." The professor said.

The captain has no choice but to concede to to professors request and took his men and left. The professor then proceeded to take care of the man and with his assistants took him back to the academy.

Finally Simon wakes up thinking his death was imminent when his loan shark Taffy shot him in the abdomen. He saw the professor of the Magic Academy observing at him and was shocked retreated from his bed.

"It must be a creep who likes to molest men. What with his garb and his beard and this place?" Simon asked himself. He looks around and saw that the place is nothing he is accustomed to. It is like he is transported to a different dimension of some sorts.

"Magic?" The first word that Simon released from his mouth.

"Are you not familiar with magic young man?" The professor asked him.

"Not in my world... err, never mind that. But where am I? I must be dead by now being shot with a gun." Simon said to him.

"I do not know much of what happened to you in your world but we just saved you in the nick of time. Welcome to the land of dawn young man." The professor explained.

"You are kidding... right?" Simon shockingly asked and fainted. He could not believe of the occurrence that will change his life forever.
