I said loud enough for everyone to hear, "Anthony, you and your family can come inside now—Aubrey included."
"A-Alright, man. Thanks again. We'll talk later, alright? You know, catch up or something," Anthony said as he led his family towards the small door by the gate.
At this point, Anthony's family had already passed through—even Aubrey, but the moment I saw Diego about to follow behind them like I gave him permission, I grabbed onto his arm and pulled him back.
I stared him dead in the eyes, "Did I tell you that you could come inside?"
"Ah— I just assumed that—"
"We still have a lot to talk about, stay here," I said without an ounce of emotion.
