Groaning John woke up slowly, rubbing his eyes a light flooded through the window onto his face.
"Glad to see your finally awake oh fearless leader, finally going to explain what's happened and where Alice has gone?" Ash's voice drew his focus to her, rubbing his face he just asked her to go and get everyone together, he needs to speak with everyone and will tell everyone all that happened, he just needs to freshen up first only to be met with a reluctant nod as she went to do as he asked only due to seeing he needed to get himself together.
It was 20 minutes later that John went to yard having just done his morning bathroom routine and skipping breakfast, there stood everyone from Elena and the old man surprisingly joined by Z to the twins and the girls a bit further to the side with Ash and Saya who gave him a stare wanting to know what this was about and what had happened yesterday. Nick the gatherer, Smith the mineral vain maker and lastly Cliff the city planner looked around in confusion especially at John, not understanding where the others where or even what was happening.
With a sigh he began, "So yesterday a lot happened, there was an attack and we lost Alice, I wont lie, it was due to my own incompetence, I should have joined the fight sooner, then when I woke up I went and demanded to know where everyone was during that fight, no doubt you all heard and felt it." John began getting nods from everyone but still confused on what had happened, how is it they lost Alice when she was with them yesterday just a bit off?
"Well when I had woken back up I was angry, extremely so and ready to punish them for there actions, they should have been able to notice such a large enemy force coming or at least investigated, Saya though did the right thing and first helped where she could ensuring the gas bottles in the kitchen where okay well she was there before coming to investigate, the twins well tired also came to investigate what was going on yet those who were supposed to protect us where having a laugh together without cares and took Ash coming to get them to finally have them do something, so yeah I was ready to punish them for it but I was blinded by anger further when the head of there group began saying he could lead better and pretty much told me he wanted to take over, I snapped entirely and had our merchant friend call a friend to take them away." John says, his face going neutral and emotionless getting shivers from the support girls as they moved closer together and narrowed eyes from Saya as she moved slightly infront of them.
"As for Alice, I took her yesterday evening and gave her a painless death." John says after a deep breath, "She was no longer human, and-" Before he could explain further Jim, one of the twins Spoke up with a yell.
"So, you killed her! You trade away people and then kill someone who is supposed to be really close with you! But just because she wasn't human anymore you killed her!" He roared at John in visible anger before his brother Tim put his hand on his shoulder to try and calm him down.
"Those who want to leave can, I'm not going to stop anyone, feel free to take as much food and equipment as you feel you need within 2 hours if you want to leave, but I'm going to explain why I did what I did though." John continued seemingly without emotion causing Jim to become even angrier but led away by his brother to go collect some supplies, the support girls going with them and even the gatherer and mineral vain maker.
The only ones left willing to still listen where the old man and Z, a very angry Saya, a uncaring city planner, Elena and Ash who looked down, seemingly having a idea on why he did what he did but confused why he didn't explain it before mentioning killing Alice.
"Alice, she was poisoned by the mutant things in the fight and it was causing mind breaking pain, when she was brought back here the lord of wax Jamerson pretty much turned her into a wax creature by filling her up and coating her in and with a special wax locking her in that form, I killed him and even destroyed his house due to anger at what he did, but I didn't kill her because she stopped being human. I killed her because she was locked in the state of pain that she was forced to feel, I had no way to undo what was done, I even asked Z over there for some way but it was impossible, even resurrection wouldn't work, so I went and gave her a peaceful end in a place that I felt was special, even having a statue made and protected as a memorial." John says, tears in his eyes and visibly pained before he pushed it down to be neutral again.
"And how would you know? How would you know she was in pain or what had happened to her?" Saya couldn't help but ask, her previous anger having turned to shock and worry.
"Its my class, it quickly upped an appraisal skill I bought, I used it on Jamerson and then on Alice, its at a high enough level that I am able to inspect people and get a lot of details form them and not just items anymore." John says getting a wide-eyed look from Z.
"That's how you knew so much about me! I should have charged you more then for those skill books! You cheated me!" Z exclaimed in mock anger.
"So that's that, I could go into detail on how I wasn't in the right state of mind, how I was influenced but it would all come off as excuses, so now ive said my part, if you wish to leave you can do so, as I said help yourself to supplies and goods and you can leave within 2 hours." John tells them expecting the rest to leave but instead they stood in place, getting a bit closer and speaking in low whispers before turning to him.
"We wont be going anywhere, Elena because you're her grower and master, me because honestly you did something that most wouldn't be able to do, Ash well I don't know why she wants to stay but the old man says he sees a younger part of himself in you so he wants to help you, as for the city planner Jason, well he just wants to know can he still plan things and try to implement his defences now." Saya says shaking her head.
"Are you all sure? And I mean yes, you just need to tell me what you need, also Ash, Saya I'm going to need the 2 of you to hold down what's left of the fort, in 4 hours I'm leaving for a while and not sure when I will be back, but I wont leave you all defenceless, even if there is only this few left, this will be our home and I will make sure it doesn't fall." John finally says with a small smile.
