Chapter 92
A hour later the girls and the others returned, backpacks and a few others makeshift sacks on there backs and over their shoulders, without even acknowledging John they made to leave but not before turning to Saya and asking why she would stay with a monster in human skin but before even listening to her reply they sneered and commented on how birds of a feather truly do flock together causing her to flinch back and look at the ground.
"If you've gotten the stuff you feel you need kindly leave, the comments to her where far from needed so just go now, but remember you wont have it easy here if you ever come back." John says only for Tim to snort and wave him off, the gatherer taking the lead now seemingly the one who would be guiding them.
Choosing to ignore them as they leave John went over to Saya and lightly put his hand on her shoulder.
"Are you okay?" He asks as gently as he could only for her to nod slightly.
"Yes, I just didn't expect that from them, is it really my fault that my class makes me seem like a monster." She says quietly only for John to hug her close.
"Your class doesn't define who you are or what you become, you are not even close to a monster, I'm not good with words or with talking like this or even knowing what to say, but what I do know is that you're a young women who is just in a hell with the rest of us, you got a class that's strong and that causes jealousy, but don't let the words of those jealous and stupid people get to you or warp you, especially those who would so quickly forget all you did for them. Rather just be yourself, be Saya, the strong smart girl I met recently that gave me words of wisdom." He gently tells her, causing her to look at him and blush as she looks away, gently wiping her tears and saying a soft thank you.
Giving her a small smile he watched as the group left, turning to the remaining people left he focused and walked over to Z.
"I don't suppose a amazing, super respectable and above board merchant like you could get members for my camp, managing to convince good and decent natured customers to come here?" John joked getting a eye roll from Z.
"I can try and recommend the place but word of mouth is tricky and could easily bring the wrong sort here, you sure you want to do that? Also what would my commission fee be? It better be no less than 3 coin a person!" They say getting a laugh from John who tells them to forget it then as he turns and walks over to Cliff.
"So I believe you're the genius responsible for the underground? You did an amazing job my man, I'm glad you stayed, and I hear you want to create defences? Tell me about that as I really want to know more and what you need and ill try to help you out with it." John says getting a blank look in return.
"Well there just simple things I saw in games, towers that would launch arrows and possibly some magic towers to fire well, fire or ice depending on their nature, but I plan to have them push out the ground when needed and also be rather large, a central tower in the middle of things generating a shield that would overlap onto a set of walls to rise up around the place blocking attacks well trapping any enemies inside and slowly draining there life away." He tells John well pushing up a pair of glasses before blushing in embracement and giving a small cough.
"Honestly it sounds amazing, but I can understand it won't be easy, I rather like the element towers and central tower idea, it would make a grate vantage point to overlook and judge things safely because of the shield." John says getting a look of surprise and joy that his idea was acknowledged.
"We just need to sort the materials, but I have a way to get them, spend the next few days getting your thoughts together, make a list along with thinking of more things to add and other things you may want for our city underground and any other defences and in 5 or 6 days or so give it to me, if I'm not back ask Elena to send a stick figure out to deliver it to me please, and when I get back I'll make sure to get the materials for you." John says getting a wide smile in return as Jason ran back to his planning room to exactly that.
"Who says I will still be here by then? Or that you would even find me at that time?" Z asks, having overheard the conversation and crossing their long sleeves over there chest.
"Oh, I am well aware of that, but I made a contact of my own last night, he seemed quite nice and is even going to introduce me to some others in a weeks' time, I also have a place I can get anything I could need now, for example I got this there." John says pulling a small sack from his side getting wide eyes from Z and a confused look from the Ash and Saya, Elena having returned to the green house and the old man having left to possibly make sure the others had really left.
"Uhm is that some kind of storage ring in sack form? Arnt spacial bags supposed to be a bit more colourful, or blue or even made form some kind of silk? That one looks like its just a old brown ratty sack." Ash couldn't help but comment.
"Where did you get something like that! How much do you want for that! I'll give you 1500 coin and 25 more gatcha tickets! Sell it to me! An item like that isn't easy to get and I could get a fortune -cough- make a small profit if I where to sell it and that doesn't include for my own personal use. It's even better than your cloak as I can't get a read off it!" Z says almost jumping at him much to the girls confusion.
"It was a gift from the friend I mentioned, along with its contents, speaking of which I should probably let them out." John says confusing everyone present as he reached in and began pulling items out.
At first John kept pulling out some spirit stones, magic stones and beast cores, carefully placing them on the ground in an organized way causing Z to struggle even more to hold themselves back but it was when he pulled out 15 armoured statues of various humanoid races and 10 clockwork robots that all fit in his palm before quickly growing to their full size mere moments after being taken out that surprised everyone as each seemed to emanate a faint pressure. At this sight Z was practically drooling of the marks on the scarf and faint trail of liquid coming out the bottom was any indication.
"Where did you even get all this! You aren't a merchant and no one else came by so how! A lot of that stuff is high end stuff! Those cores are from fierce beasts, and I don't recognise some, those stones feel like pure energy and the others give a pressure of something I haven't felt before! And then there's these statues and weird robots I've never seen before! I've seen some powerful and rich merchants have statues like those as bodyguards so how is it you have so many!" Z yelled well rushing over inspecting each of them, becoming more overwhelmed at seeing how detailed they all where.
"Okay, the first 7 statues on the left begin patrols and keep this building and the greenhouse over there safe, 5 clockworks listen to my words and patrol with them, you will work in groups of 3 and keep this area and the people here safe, those present, a dryad and a old man are listed as friendlies, oh and a man with glasses in a building that side. Any other humanoid can be considered hostile and detained, there is a prison underground where you can keep them, the next 3 statues and 1 clockwork are in charge of keeping the prisoners fed and hydrated along with cooking tasks or any renovations the underground city may need, as for the remaining 5 statues and 4 clockworks, you will be following me." John orders getting a salute as they proceed to follow his orders, the remaining statues and clockworks falling in line behind him.
