Ray had never in his life raised his voice at her, he was sweet in the first heat of staying together and the huge respect he had for her was why he didn't want to mess up. He admired Kaylan so much, she practically changed his life and was a blessing to his soul but he needed more.

He needed to be a real Alpha, he needed a child and he needed some steam. He thought he was attracted to Kaylan, he thought he was crazy for her and would die if he didn't see her but a few months of staying with her says otherwise to him.

He just cared, he wasn't attracted. The sex was forced and he thought he could carry on with the facade they both had until he found what he was looking for. The giddy feeling that comes with butterflies, the sex that makes your existence to be seen on clouds, and the happiness of staying with the person that you want.

He found it and there was no need to hide it. He expected her expression, it was broken and filled with disbelief but he must do what he wants.

"Who is she?" Her voice was painfully hoarse, as if she had been dreading this day to come and now that's it finally here, she wanted to try so hard to cry out.

"She's my mate Kaylan." He blurted out immediately, not caring about her reaction and she swallowed.

"And so what? Why is she here?" She asked him, not sparing a glance at the woman who looked annoyingly beautiful.

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean Kaylan? I said she's my mate, she's going to stay for a while as she doesn't have anywhere to go at the moment." He lied and she laughed at him bitterly.

She knew it was all lies and Ray raked his hand on his head nervously as if he was bursting.

"Kaylan, I think you need to understand the situation right now. You need to understand my frustrations and let me do this without any argument. I will take my mate as a second wife, you can be the first wife and your position as a Luma remains but I need my mate." He uttered every word and released a deep breath, it took him weeks to be able to tell her that to face. He did not have a choice and he was going to choose his happiness over a standard or principle he was trying so hard not to bend.

"You! You .. didn't just say that right?"

She pointed at him and he sighed.

"Don't take this too hard Kaylan, you're also at fault. You can't even conceive and I'm trying my best to protect the authority we wield in this place."

"You're looking for an excuse to justify this shitty act, Ray!" She yelled at him and the tears she had been trying so hard to suppress rushed down hotly.

"What do you want me to do with you Kaylan, watch the throne taken from me and grow old and die becoming useless? I'm sick and tired of all this, be grateful for once. I'm going to lengths to share myself with you and my mate and you that it's easy? Do you know what it means to have your mate right beside you and you can't fulfil their demands?" Ray fired back at her and Kaylan got something hot, searing deep Into her heart and mind.

Her lips trembled for words but nothing came out.

Her wolf had been dead and quiet since the night she thought she killed Cypher and right now, she had craved for her wolf presence to comfort her.

The word 'mate' seemed like a Taboo to her since she killed hers, but seeing other people value and cherish theirs made her torn into different splits of regrets, confusion, and pain.

"I won't accept this Ray, I'm your Luna!" She spat out and the blonde-haired lady who seemed fed up with there to and fro conversations took a seat and crossed her legs to enjoy the show.

Her emerald eyes twinkled in excitement as she took in the view of the aesthetic room and her eyes went back to Ray who seemed so stressed.

"You don't have a choice Kaylan, this is not negotiable. I need my mate."

"And I need my husband!" She cried.

"You can't just push me aside because she's your mate, I've been with you for years and serving this pack with loyalty. Get her a home somewhere else but I'm not sharing you with her."

"I'm so famished Ray, where can I get a meal?" The lady suddenly butted in and Kaylan scoffed in disbelief.

"Take a straight walk and turn to your left, the maids will attend to you. " Ray told her, looking at her with so much love that Kaylan felt as if a knife was being twisted in her heart.

"Thank you, Ray, be fast with her okay? I can't wait to finish from where we stopped." She winked at him and he smirked, totally forgetting for a moment that he was in a hot argument with his wife.

"What are you doing Ray? Is this how you choose to hurt me? Is this how you repay me for sticking to you, for loving you ?"

"I love you Kaylan but I can't let go of my mate."

"BUT I KILLED MINE FOR YOU!!" She yelled and slapped him so hard that her body trembled at the realisation.

Even Ray has his eyes squinted into a frown.

"You did what?"

"You Ingrate! I killed my mate to be with you, to escape and give you the better life you're living right only for you to toss it aside and tell me bullshit about your mate!" She laughed as if she was crazy and she wiped her tears, looking at his eyeballs and Ray shivered at her stare for the first time.

"If she doesn't get out of this house tonight, I will kill her ten times worse the way I killed my mate and nothing will happen. You're mine alone Ray! Get that into your skull and act wisely." She growled at her words and stomped out and Ray released a shaky breath. He just realised that he got married to a crazy woman and he was going to get rid of her before she got rid of his mate.
