chapter Forty-Five-Dance with Cocky Kin

Lisa's P.O.V

"Hello, pretty. How are you doing?" A guy I knew nothing about approached me. He didn't look like a college student; he appeared much older.

"I'm fine, but do I know you?" I asked, trying to gauge if he was a familiar face.

"No, you don't," he replied, nodding with a smile.

"I just came back from the United States. I'm a friend to the sunsedos. My name is Kin. Kin Adams," he introduced himself.

"So, since you know my name, would you mind sharing yours? He inquired politely.

"sure. I'm Lisa. Lisa Ventasparo. It's my pleasure meeting you," I replied, making sure my one-sided dimples showed.

"Would you like to have a dance with me?" kin asked, extending his hand.

I thought, who am I to say no. "Sure, why not," I told him, smiling as he led me to the dance floor.

"I must say, you're a very good dancer," I complimented him.

"There are many things I excel at. If you're interested, stick around and find out," he replied confidently, flashing a smile.

"He's really cocky," I thought to myself, but replied, "I'll be honored to know more about you."

"Same here," he said with a nod.

I thought to myself, 'what harm could it do?' as we swayed to the music.

I watched Lisa dancing with some guy she either knew it didn't. I was still using my eyes to shoot laser beams at them when Dax came over.

"Looks like someone is jealous," Dax said.

"you know how possessive I can be when it comes to Lisa," I told him.

"But Lisa isn't your property. Besides, she's not even on good terms with you," Dax reminded me.

"You seem to forget who I am. Besides, I have a bad feeling about that guy. Who knows if he's here to ruin her life?" I expressed my concerns as I went over to them.

"Keep deceiving yourself, bro," Dax retorted, but I was already long gone.

"Excuse me. Can I please dance with her?" I interrupted their conversation.

 "What?" Lisa asked me harshly.

"Do you know him?" the guy asked, clearly taken aback.

"No, I don't know him. I haven't seen him before," Lisa replied, leading him away.

"Did she just sent me in front of a total stranger?" I thought, feeling a mix of surprise and hurt.

"Maybe he's one of those men who prey on young girls to ruin their lives," Lisa remarked, confirming my suspicion.

"Did she just say that to my face?" I wondered, shocked by her blunt assessment.

"Gosh, ever since I decided to change, many people have been getting on my nerves," I grumbled, feeling frustrated.

"Don't worry, dude. She would accept you one day," dad assured me as Rachael came over.

"Come on, you two. It's picture time," Rachael announced, diverting our attention.
