Chapter 100: Reality

Declan

Grayson was standing in the lobby when I entered the police station, and immediately crossed the room to me when he saw me. I met him halfway.

“No news yet?” I asked, pulling out my phone. With everything going on with Henley, I hadn’t had time to call him yet.

Grayson shook his head. “No, not yet. I’m hoping we hear something soon.” He looked into my eyes. “How’s Henley?”

I sighed, wondering how much to tell him. But then I thought the truth was best. “She went into shock when she heard.”

Grayson’s eyes nearly bugged out of his head. “Seriously? And you left her alone?”

I shook my head. “No. My driver is staying with her, in case she needs anything, and he’s one of the most trustworthy people I know. But when I left, she was upstairs in bed asleep. I left her phone on the nightstand for her to call if she needs me.”

Declan nodded. “I was wondering why she hadn’t come with you. Gerard can use all the friends he can get right now.”
