“I’ll call Trent,” I told Grayson. “I’m sure he’ll take the case.”
He let out a long, slow breath. “Declan, who do you think did this?”
“I have no idea. But whoever it was seemed to have covered his tracks. I’ll talk to you about it in more detail when I get there, but the detective said that Gerard’s skin was found under her fingernails. Gerard and his men said that she scratched his arm after he turned her down.” I sighed, shaking my head. “Grayson, if I had known that she was so bad off, I would have—”
“From the sound of it, you tried with her,” Grayson cut me off. “There was nothing more you could have done.”
“Henley and I went over there to have her Involuntarily Committed, but we were already too late.”
“You went there? With Henley?” Grayson’s voice rose.
