Chapter 47: Bonding Ceremony

Now that Loki knew the truth about Ash and Persephone, there was no need to keep the breaks on. Ash wanted to have a celebration to bring the pack together again and Persephone was eager to be recognized as Luna.

It only took a week for them to plan the bonding ceremony and somehow, I got stuck being Persephone’s maid of honor. I barely knew her but she wanted me. As a favor to Ash, I wasn’t going to deny her.

Persephone had picked out a dusty rose-colored dress for me with corset laces down the back. On the morning of the ceremony, I was in Ash’s bedroom with her, hand buttoning every one of the hundred and sixty pearl buttons down the back of her white, lacy dress.

“Gen, I really can’t think you enough for stepping up and being my maid of honor,” Persephone said, twisting from side to side in the full-length mirror.

“Hold still. I only have a few more buttons to go,” I chastised, pulling her back into place.

Persephone giggled. “I’m sorry, I’m just so excited,” she said.
