3 Rebirth

-Royal Palace-

As the celebrations and parties persisted throughout the rest of the realm, the palace had a very suspenseful atmosphere. The security of the palace and Queen's chambers had been bolstered with three times the guards there would be on any other occasion. The palace maids were rushing along back and forth the chambers, carrying along various trinkets and magical clothing.

Inside the chambers, there were a few midwives, the royal physician, and the King himself surrounding a bedstead, in which lay Queen Frigga. She was having her contractions, breathing ragged with slight tears in her eyes as she prepared to give birth. The entire pregnancy was unplanned, neither Odin nor Frigga expected a child as beings at their level had a certain level of foresight, but still couldn't foresee this.

Her magic was fluctuating, 'this never happened to the other mothers', she thought. She just hoped that her baby was fine like any mother would, and was prepared to perish if needed to deliver the child safely. As she was musing, she was pulled out from her thoughts when she felt pain in her abdomen and she knew that it was the moment of truth.

The midwives moved at the same time and the physician kept her in her best condition for delivery. As Frigga took a deep breath, a lively baby with his eyes closed came sliding out with a burst of energy and bawled with a whisper. When the midwives were about to pick him up after wrapping him with clothes, he started crying louder with an outburst of magic that sent tremors across the palace and soon throughout the realm.

*waaaaaaaaah*

When the baby cried and almost killed everyone in the room, Odin was quick to react by jabbing the base of his spear on the ground, which cancelled all the rogue magic from his son. Though the midwives were almost killed, and needed prompt treatment. The baby ignored the midwives and crawled upward, into his mother's arms before falling asleep.

Frigga who was dead tired, smiled as she managed to hold on to her son with the remaining burst of her energy before falling unconscious. Odin and Frigga had already decided on what they were going to name their child if he was a boy. So, Odin walked up to his peculiar son, picked him up and held him in his arms.

"He shall be called Vali Odinson, the youngest prince of Asgard. May he protect the realm the same way our predecessors did before us." Odin declared out loud and his voice travelled throughout the palace. As if in response to him, the magic in Vali's body rippled in acknowledgement.

Odin took his time to observe his son closely this time with astonishment, as he had wee silky silver hair, healthy brownish skin with his eyes closed and a faint radiance of divinity rippling off his tiny body. He stood there with him in his arms for a few hours while indulging in his thoughts.

'He was born with a divinity and he is definitely going to grow into a powerful being if the earlier outburst wasn't a clear indicator. I wonder what future the fates have in store for him' thought Odin worriedly.

Vali moved a little in his arms, before opening his droopy eyelids which hid his dark blue eyes with starry specks which resembled the stars in the universe. Odin looking down at his son's mysterious eyes was exceedingly convinced that Vali would grow up to become a monstrous being.

His son looked towards his mother and started to whimper, so Odin figured it was time and left the kid in the care of the midwives, who received his son with fear and honor hoping they wouldn't be killed by the baby's uncontrolled magic.

[Vali POV]

When I was delivered, my soul had just fused with my other half and that resulted in crazy magical fluctuations and my divinity awakened as well. Being complete is an excellent feeling; this sensation, this is what I've been looking for an abundantly long time. I cry a little, not feeling the void that had always existed within me and I start feeling drowsy, so I crawl towards to the ball of warmth, which is probably my mother and fall fast asleep.

When I woke up for the second time, realizing that this wasn't dream and was actually happening, I was ecstatic. Then I remembered that I was being carried by a man, so when I got out of my thoughts and looked at him, I was astonished to say the least. The man looked old with white hair and a similar beard, but what stood out was the golden eye patch and the spear he held in his other arm. It was Odin the All-father, probably from the marvel universe.

I had been granted memories of my previous life and I just realized that I remembered every single moment of my previous life. So, when I looked around and saw the woman in the bedstead, I realized that she was my mother, Frigga. I was struck with a plethora of intense emotions and affection that I had never felt before, the impression to protect my mother. I started tearing up without even realizing it, and Odin handed me over the mid-wives before leaving.

I soon calmed down; I had gone through numerous emotions and was a little unstable in the last half a day that I figured that it was the side effect of the recent soul fusion, which wasn't perfect but I knew that flawless fusion would take place gradually over the years. My teetering emotions would probably pass and settle down in a few days, though I didn't dislike the feeling, I knew that this would interfere with my judgement.

The midwives started playing around with my wee little hair after they noticed I was harmless, much to my annoyance. So, I reached my clumsy hands out towards my sleeping mother before I started whimpering. They took the hint with sadness on their faces, and placed me besides my mother after changing me into new clothes.

They stepped out of the chambers, waiting outside alongside the guards to give my mother and me some peace and quiet.

I took this opportunity to examine my body and its condition for the first time since my arrival. I barely had any strength to move my body, could probably crawl a little before my arms give out. I thought of my previous life and remembered every detail right from my birth, so that must be the advantage that the formless entity talked about. When I thought of the information regarding Odin, Frigga and most definitely Asgard, I was startled.

If I remembered correctly, the Asgardians were doomed to die and be reborn in the eternal cycle of Ragnarok, and this reincarnation cycle fed some immortal beings who treated the realm like a slaughterhouse. Thinking of the number of times the Asgardians had been a part of this cycle, enraged me for no reason. My other half must've been stuck as a part of this cycle as well and would've probably been unborn without me. I raged as my mind snapped, but I soon followed up with a little meditation I learned from my previous life and calmed down. I noticed that it was a lot easier to control myself now that I was whole.

I soon cooled down, and started planning my next manoeuvre because those immortal beings are going nowhere and since they're on my list now, they shall have my vengeance. I'd have to prepare for Ragnarok, and I'm going to assume that this universe is a part of the MCU until I'm proven otherwise since Odin and my mother look similar to their movie counterparts

I have no information about the outside world, or which year it is right now. So, the only thing I can do now is pretty much nothing. I'd probably have to wait for a decade to gain permission, and start training my body and mind.

Hmm, Loki and Thor should've been born, since I heard the midwives talking about me being the youngest prince. Speaking of midwives, I remembered the outburst of magic when I was just born. I attempted moving my magic, and well, nothing happened. Figures, it can't be that easy.

I looked around and soon found a mirror stand, and I tried looking at myself through it. I saw a pair of mysterious starry eyes that had the universe as the background, and I realized it was my own. I figured it was because of the gift that the formless entity granted him, and realized that I could innately use them. The information was just right there in my head, like it was some sort of instinct.

I focused on my eyes for a few seconds before I felt my magic moving on its own towards my eyes and all of a sudden, I felt like I was a part of the sky and I could see all of Asgard from a bird's eye view. I could feel my magic draining rapidly, so I just looked around appreciating the incredible sights of the realm, taking note of everything that I could use later on when I felt something looking back at me. There I saw it, a pair of bizarre deep orange eyes seemingly peering into my soul before I exhausted my magic and fell into deep slumber.
