Lost soul-2

-Somewhere out there among the stars-

A formless entity that wandered around the universe, treating it like its own backyard, looked in one specific direction inquisitively.

In a flash it was lightyears away, appearing in front of a tiny incomplete soul that seemed to have survived for a long time, because of a fanatical will that was permeating it, sheltering it from dissipating. The soul was shaped like a ball, floating haphazardly with a reddish flaming will that flickered on its surface.

It should be known wandering souls were extremely rare out here, especially one as nigh impossible to find as this, it was the soul of a mortal being. The entity was now curious, with an amused look on its formless face.

The entity probed the soul and soon deduced that it was travelling in the direction of its other half, though it probably wouldn't make it that far on it's own.

As it mused, it figured it might as well help the little but uncommonly obstinate soul by sowing karma with it. It transmitted these thoughts into the ball which jolted the tiny soul awake, also taking measures to prevent it from dissipating.

The soul was jolted awake, looking around peculiarly trying to figure out where he was.

[MC POV]

As I looked around with stormy thoughts at the stars surrounding him, regaining composure when I finally looked at the being in front of me. It was formless, its body looked like it was made of whitish thin clouds with only a pair of mysterious eyes hovering there in front of him. It soon transmitted thoughts into my head, informing me the reason for its presence.

I looked at it suspiciously, taking a second to cool my head. I didn't want to be involved with this being, but not really a choice now is it.

The entity seemed to have heard his thoughts and spoke, "I'll grant you 3 gifts for amusing me, and you'd owe me the same amount of karma when the time comes. I'll even send you off to the universe where you're yet to be born other half exists, so how about it?"

I was ecstatic at what he just said, not at the wishes, but at the fact that I was right all this time and he was going to send me to my other half. I soon composed myself and thought of the wishes I could ask for.

"So, do I get to keep the memories of my previous life when I'm reborn? And how simple do the wishes have to be? I'd like to ask for an inviolable mind, would that work?" I barraged the entity with questions.

The entity with a languid gaze answered amusedly, "With your monstrous will filled with obsession, you'll probably retain bits and pieces of your previous life when you're reborn. As for an inviolable mind, that's infeasible. The most I can do for that wish, is grant you supreme talent in the mind arts. I suggest you use a wish to retain your memories, it has its own benefits."

'Disregarding its suggestion, I thought about what it just said about mind arts, and by now I more or less know that my next life is going to be supernatural. My strongest weapon in my previous life was my mind and will, without it, I would've probably been a bloodthirsty braindead demon being used and toyed by others like a puppet on a string, or killed instantly by some well organized-trap.'

I figured out the three wishes I was going to ask for, but before that I'd better clear my doubts.

"You said that my other half was quite the distance from here, how far and which universe are you talking about?" I enquired.

"That perilous universe is so far-flung from here that even I'd take a while to get there. Getting in is a completely impossible scenario even for me, you would be allowed to get in only because of your origin. As for the name? Don't know, deducing anything related to that universe is a strenuous task and I was only able to find your other half, with you as the medium."

'Perilous even for him? Not that I'm worried, since my other half is there, I'm going there even if it was the playground of the gods themselves. If anything, I was excited as I outgrew fighting mortal beings in the teenage years of my last life. Going against godly or supernatural beings should help with keeping my mind at peace. Maybe even fix the mess in my head.'

I've always thought of supernatural eye powers as convenient from all the comics and fictions I've devoured, so I was including that in a wish for sure. After all, supernatural eye powers provide great utility during battles if not, while learning different arts. Though, I might not be able to choose anything specific or overpowered if anything the being said makes sense. I'd choose any eye power as long as they're always useful and grow with me throughout my life I suppose.

"For my first wish, I'll take on your offer and wish for a supreme talent in the mind arts; I'd like to retain my memories for my second wish and for my third, I'd like to have growth-type supernatural eye powers-Do I get to choose though?"

"No, you don't, I'll give you something satisfactory but don't expect anything great." It said embarrassedly, with thoughts of going back on its word and taking back the gifts from the rude mortal.

"Now, you owe me three equal favours, or something with equivalent karma which you'll pay when the time comes. This deal will be covered by a verbal law contract, since any other contract would probably be rejected by you. Do you accept?"

'Well, beggars can't be choosers and It's not like I can just say no.' I thought before nodding.

"Your wishes have been granted, so rejoice, for not everyone receives such a golden opportunity and so, I'll send you on your way now" the being spoke impatiently before waving its formless limbs.

'Sigh, I know for a fact that I'm getting scammed' I thought but didn't get a chance to reply before everything went dark.

The formless entity stood there with crescents in its eyes after sending him off. Too bad he wasn't there to see this, wouldn't have mattered anyway, though.

-Universe of Earth-199999-

An incomplete soul had just crossed the dimensional wall and entered going completely unnoticed by all but one being. If the fanatical soul happened to see the appearance of this being, he'd probably find similarities in appearance, with the old man in the comic book store who used to take care of him in his previous life.

The being thought out loud, "Is he finally going to be complete, it's gonna be an exciting adventure for sure. Since he has already received gifts, Mmm let me just tweak one a little. I declare his eyes the 'Eyes of Truth' and it shall him support on his journey. Now, EXCELSIOR" he said before sending the soul straight to its other half.

-ASGARD-

In this certain void, there existed a breath-taking realm, built on something akin to an asteroid with strong gravity and magic holding the entire civilization in place.

In the centre stood Asgard, filled with a collection of magical golden elaborate buildings and intricate spires; Enormous structures with sweeping terraces, gleaming pyramids, structures shaped like pipe organs, a magical rainbow bridge and a lot more, all seemingly rooted or connected to the giant rock.

(YEAR 1150)

Today was a little different, the streets were abuzz with the citizens laughing, clamouring and celebrating and this went on for an entire month, as they had all just received news that the Queen was pregnant and was due for birth this month. As the whole realm drank and made merry awaiting the birth of the youngest prince or princess, the entire realm trembled.

*buzz*

*rumble*

The ground was vibrating, thought to be a seismic attack from a powerful being by most, they moved looking to seek shelter, only to recover from their stupor when they heard a baby's cry that shook the realm.

*waaaaaaaaaaah*

It was a day they wouldn't forget for as long as they lived, the birthday of their youngest prince. It was also a day the adversaries of the realm wouldn't forget, for it was the day that the relentless and callous, 'Savage Guardian' of Asgard was born.
