12 Chapter 12: You absorbed them?

[A/N: I will use the standard speech style for Umbra's dialogues because it will be easy to understand, although she can't speak normally with Ryan, but he completely understands her because of their soul bond.]

Ryan opened his eyes at a leisurely pace, he saw an unfamiliar ceiling, Ryan felt some weight on his chest, he looked down and saw a curled up Selene sleeping on his bare chest. She was smiling, sleeping with him miraculously calmed her down. Ryan didn't have the heart to wake her up, so he decided to enter his thought sea.

"I am back." Ryan said as he entered the void.

"Now it's time to finish my job here." He said and started walking towards the place where the weapons were, but he didn't expect to see the area empty.

"Umbra, do you know what happened here?" Ryan asked, soon umbra appeared and started humming.

"I destroyed those fake weapons and absorbed their energy." Umbra said in a soft tone.

"You absorbed them, but why did you do that? Were you lacking power?" He asked, but actually it didn't matter to him at all, he was going to destroy them sooner or later.

"Your powers are increasing at a phenomenal speed, I didn't want to be left behind, so I borrowed your power and absorbed them." Umbra said in a nonchalant voice.

"Hmm...you did the right thing," He said.

"I know." She said in an assertive tone.

"Did you find anything important among them?" He asked curiously.

"Only two of those things were real, others were just disgusting bastards." She said in a furious tone.

"Only two huh, this further proves Kael's point, he said that someone was trying to spy on us." He said.

"But why would they take the risk of you awakening in the first place?They could've finished us very easily before your awakening, too ineffective." She asked in confusion.

"Yes you are right, they could've killed us very easily before my awakening, but they didn't and this makes them either really foolish or very smart, but them being foolish is highly unlikely." Ryan said while pondering about the spy weapons.

"Ryan, the two weapons gave me hints about their locations before I devoured them, but they are not on this planet." She said in a monotonous tone.

"Nice, We'll try to find them after I come clean with my family, I can't hide my truth forever." He said with firm resolve.

"I wonder how your sister will react after finding out that you are not her brother, well she might even be happy knowing you are not biologically related to her." She said in a knowing tone.

"Take your mind out of the sewers, and about her brother's complex, it will fade away with time." He said in a nonchalant tone.

"Tsk, you are no fun." She teased Ryan.

"Now the only things left here are these." He said while looking at the direction of the invisible wall.

"We won't be able to touch those memories on the other side for now." She said Umbra knew those things were being blocked for his own good.

"Umbra, do you think I am some kind of reincarnated god or something like that?" He asked with curiosity.

"Absolutely not, your soul is fresh out of the factory and those memories don't belong to you, so don't think you are a novel protagonist who is living a second life." She said with utmost confidence.

"Tsk, such a waste." He said with disappointment evident in his voice.

"At Least my head is in the sewage, not like you who likes swimming in a pool of cliches." She said in a barely audible tone but still Ryan heard her and grabbed her hilt and said "Punishment time."

"Aaaha..ha, don't do it please, I don't want to act like that again, it's really shameful for a weapon like me." She pleaded with him to stop.

"You know it's really funny when you get drunk after consuming too much of my energy, what a weird safety mechanism." Ryan laughed.

"Oi, you are the we-*hic*-ird one here, I am completely normal." She said, the excess flow of energy was already starting to show its effect.

"Already drunk, I didn't even pour 2% of my energy, you have very low energy tolerance." Ryan grinned viciously.

"Shut *hic* *hic* up." Drunk Umbra said.

"Hahahaha.....Bye, I'll come see you later." He said before leaving the void.

"Meanie, leaving a drunk girl alone, I might not have a humanoid form but I am still a girl." Umbra said in an upset tone.

"I know." Ryan's voice surrounded the void.

"I will take a nap now, *hic*don't disturb me unless someone comes to kill you." She was really drunk.

Ryan felt something moving inside his mouth and he opened his eyes and saw Selene kissing him, so he returned the kiss with utmost sincerity. Selene started smiling when she felt Ryan moving his tongue, the couple enjoyed the kiss for a couple of minutes.

"Darling, I can feel something hard touching my body, do you know what it is?" She said with an intention of teasing Ryan.

"Don't get excited, this only happens in the morning, just so you know I can control my body perfectly." He said, soon little Ryan was forced to retreat but still he didn't forget to give a little caress to his newfound partner.

"You mean to say that you don't get excited by me?" She said in a sad tone.

"I didn't say that, don't just assume things." He said while hugging her tight.

'Hehe....my trick worked' She thought.

A few minutes later

"Now we should leave this cosy bed, we might be late if we linger around too much." He said while patting her head.

"Your mom will like me right?" She said in a calm tone.

"Ofcourse, you are as beautiful as the moon, but my sister might act a bit harsh, so please bear with it, she's not a bad girl." Ryan said with a slight smile.

'Oh dear, that smile always gives me butterflies.' Selene thought.

"I know." She said with a loving smile on her face.

"Now then it's time to take a shower." He said in a relaxed tone.

"Want me to join you?I can wash your back." She said with a smug expression on her face.

"Absolutely not, it's already hard for me to control myself." He said while both of them left the room.

Living room

Tia was enjoying a cup of coffee prepared by the kitchen staff.

"How long do they plan to sleep? It's already past 8 in the morning, lazy bums." Tia scoffed.

"Lady Selene likes to spend her time with Lord Ryan during the morning." Jessica said in a respectful tone.

"Hateful people, leaving their guests alone while they have fun, at least I have you Jessica." She said with a smile.

"Ofcourse Lady Tia, I am ready to talk with you anytime you want." Jessica said with a cute smile.

"What are you guys talking about?" Selene said as she entered the living room with Ryan.

"I was just talking about how irresponsible you guys are." Tia said with a slight smile on her face.

"I am really sorry for the inconvenience." Selene said with a sincere expression.

"I was just joking, don't get all serious." She said she didn't expect Selene to take her joke seriously.

"I know, but still for compensation I'll allow you to enter my Moonflower room." Selene said in a polite tone.

"Deal '' Tia said she did not want to lose her chance to enter the famous Moonflower room.

"What is this Moonflower room?" Ryan asked with extreme curiosity visible in his sharp sapphire eyes.

"So handsome" both of them said in unison.

Upon hearing her friend's remark, she stared back at her with pure displeasure visible in her eyes. She then said something which caused Tia a kind of despair even bigger than her being maiden for all her life.

"Thanks for thinking that my boyfriend is handsome, but you just lost your chance to enter that room." She said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"Hey I was just kidding, it was just a harmless joke." Tia said.

"I know." Selene said she was not convinced that it was just a joke.

Ryan didn't give a fuck about their childish bickering and asked again "What is this Moonflower room you guys are talking about?"

"The room is just like its name, the room has a huge garden of moonflowers which is blessed by Selene herself and staying in that room can cure anyone's soul and relieve a person from their fatigue." Tia said in a sad tone, she just missed her chance of entering the heavenly place.

Selene noticed this and said "Fine I'll allow you to enter, I was going to visit that room with Ryan, so you can tag along."

"The moon goddess is as generous as people say." Tia said while rubbing her hands gently.

"Putting that matter aside, I want your help Tia." Selene said in a worried tone.

"You want me to kill someone, Don't worry I can do it very easily." She said with a grin.

"Don't misunderstand, I just want you to help me choose an outfit, Ryan is introducing me to his parents today." She said with a bright smile.

"Hehe.... I'll make you look like a princess." Tia said, her eyes were screaming with confidence.

'Did I make a mistake?' Selene thought.

"Ryan, do you want me to pick an outfit for you too?" She asked with a beautiful smile.

"Oh that'll be good, thanks" Ryan said with a slight smile.

"Now then, Time for some research." Tia said and three of them started surfing the internet for reference material.

"Selene, you don't need to panic, you are just meeting my family, not a dungeon boss." Ryan smiled helplessly.

"Darling, I need to try my best to impress them." She said with a resolute expression on her face.

"Fine, just let me give you a tip, don't overdress, simplicity is the key." Ryan said like a venerable elder.

"We know." Both of them said in unison.

"Ok, What should I do now, I am already getting bored.

"Oh I can do that." Ryan said as he left the house so fast that Jessica, who was staring at him, instinctively fell down.

"Luna, his growth is too abnormal, judging from his speed he is already stronger than a 900yr old dragon." Tia said while looking at her.

"I know, but isn't this a good thing?He will be facing too many dangers in the future, he needs to be strong enough to hold his ground." She said with a worried expression.

"Don't worry he will be fine, we will be with him, even my father wants to support him as much as he can." Tia said with a smile.

"Uncle said that?How unlikely, but if he really did, then I need not worry about Ryan." Selene was relieved that the strongest existence in this universe will support Ryan.

"Now back to the matter at hand, the weather today is really cold because of yesterday's rain, so how about a white turtleneck sweater?" Tia asked

"I guess they are fine unless the knitting pattern is too wide and tacky" she said with a pondering look on her face.

"I totally agree with you." Tia said and continued her outfit hunt.

Ryan reached Eli's home and as usual rang the doorbell like a respectful man of this modern society. Rachel as usual opened the door for him.

"Wow Ryan, You get more handsome everytime I see you, come in." Rachel said with a motherly smile.

"Thanks for the compliment, ma'am." Ryan said with a slight smile as he entered the house.

"Ryan, why don't you meet my daughter sometime, she's a nice girl, I think you guys will get along really well." She said with a bright smile.

"I am really sorry ma'am, I am already dating a girl from our university." Ryan said in a polite tone.

"It's totally fine, but you can still be her friend right?" She said with an expectant look.

"Ofcourse, I am always ready to make friends." He said with an amiable smile.

'And that was the biggest lie I've ever told someone' He thought.

"Yes, a sociopath like you can never have too many friends, or you might go even crazier." Umbra said in a mocking tone.

"Ryan, what brings you here today?" Elijah said with a smirk.

'My brother, always ready to save my ass.' Ryan transmitted through his expression.

'Fuck, my mom is trying to set you up with my sister again, she never stops.' Elijah transmitted the same way Ryan did.
