Amri
That evening, Zai surprised Amri with a spontaneous adventure.
Amri was physically tired after a day of hosting the children from Zuret, whose parents had brought them when they heard she was back. Zai told her they were only going one valley over, and then carried her lightly over the ridge, before taking her downhill in short leaps that left Amri screaming from vertigo and the wind against her face.
"You jerk! I told you I'm scared of heights!" Amri beat lightly at the back of Zai's head with her fists after the third hop.
"I wanted to see what I could do," Zai said with an unapologetic grin. "Did you see the place?"
"No, I was too busy screaming and trying not to look down!" Amri replied. "You better make this up to me!"
