"I didnt do anything!" Rui shouted as Zai grabbed her by the arm to keep her from running. "All I did was listen!"
"Who else could have done it then?" Zai asked, realizing just a moment later that something was off. A screech of metal on metal was building...
Zai finally recalled her Lieutenant's name as she spoke. "Commander, we're slowing down," Lieutenant Ke reported, concern on her face. Their only stop before their final destination was Anhalt, the capital of Siveron, and they were just over halfway there.
As Zai listened, she knew it was true. The screeching of the train's brakes quickly overran any further attempts at conversation. A long minute passed with everyone just listening and feeling as the train slowed to a near stop.
As soon as they could hear each other again, Zai turned to address Lieutenant Ke.
