Apocalypse: My Domain System

Kiyo, a seemingly average man, finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world where he is betrayed and left for dead by three associates. After being killed by beasts, he wakes up in his bed covered in cold sweat, confused and angry. He realizes that he has somehow regressed back in time to before the apocalypse. He breaks up with his girlfriend Yumi, who was among the three who betrayed him, and begins preparations for the impending apocalypse. He withdraws all his savings and his late father's inheritance, amounting to $2,000,000. Suddenly, a mechanical screen appears in front of him and an Onyx black ring he had obtained five years prior loses its shine. The screen, part of the Apocalyptic Domain System, was created by a progenitor to guide and empower Kiyo to create a paradise and save as many humans as possible from the impending apocalypse.

Chapter 19

West Sun City, Northen District,

"Boss, who do you think would reach tier 4 first between Lord Jimmy and Lord Ivan?"

A man in black suit asked.

"We won't know until it happens, whoever advances first would surely be the supreme ruler of the base."

"I just hope that whoever the ruler might become would be a good leader to us."

The "Boss" in white vest spoke.

"Anyways, get back to work, Lord Ivan would surely punish us if he sees us slacking." He added.

The group of men in black suit continued their work, skillfully opening the glabella of each mutant zombies and beast lying on the ground before retrieving the ominous blackish-green crystals.

In a distant villa in the northern district,

A torrent of fog made up of vast extraordinary energy swirls around a young man.

Soon, the young man stood up, "HAHAHAHHAHHAHA, FINALLY!"

"What happened?!" A lustrous woman with amethyst-like hair barged in the room.

"Don't worry, I just broke through."

"Did you cause that phenomenon?" The woman asked.

"Yes, let's just say its a little technique of mine to increase my strength." He spoke.

"Hmmmm.." The man looked at the woman before him in scrutiny.

"You've also advanced to Stage 3?"

"Yeah, thanks to the resources you provided."

(Z-crystals and Evolution Vials.)

"Then we shall head out further north soon."

The man in the villa was Kiyo along with Violet, if it wasn't so obvious -_-

"Let's set out at 8 AM, I'll prepare breakfast first." Violet suggested.

"Sure, no rush"

Not long after, Violet walked in with two cup noodles and four servings of canned meats.

The aroma of such seemingly unappetizing dish made Kiyo's stomach unable to bear it any longer. He started to dig in as soon as it was served!

It's the apocalypse after all, who could afford to be picky?

Some might not even be able to eat for a few days or have to resort to cannibalism such as eating the corpse of their fallen comrades.

Their team was already lucky to have enough food stock from the stronghold.

"Kiyo, we're already running out of rations." "It's best if we find new supplies soon."

"We'll prioritize looking for supplies first, I reckon the other teams should have already found some supplies in the other districts."

Kiyo reassured.

"Alright, finish up, we should set out soon while it's still early."

On their way further north, the duo basically never encountered danger nor creatures above tier 3.

Was it luck? Or maybe a much deeper mystery?

"As usual, I take care of the boss, you take care of the minions," Kiyo ordered.

This was the first tier 4 mutant they've encountered, leading an army of tier 1 and tier 2 mutants.

"Hehe, let's try my newly evolved power on you."

Kiyo grinned to the point his face distorted.

"Sigh, rest in peace Mr. Zombie."

Violet sighed in "pity".

She took out her ominous saw-like blade as she dashed towards the horde of zombies.

Her body shot forward so fast, she crashed like a bowling ball, the zombies served as the pins that undoubtedly fell down and never got up again from the impact.

STRIKE!

As she stood her ground, the horde surrounded around her, mesmerized by the flawless movements of her blade as it twirled gracefully in a mesmerizing display reminiscent of a life-like dance, captivating all those who watched.

Unfortunately, these group of unconscious and lifeless walking corpses will never know the beauty of her grandiose art.

The empty shell of the lifeless corpses soon fell one by one as they were killed once again.

SIGH…

What a cruel fate, the dead couldn't even rest as they were killed again and again.

"Tsk! Boring."

In a distant ruins of what appears to be destroyed vehicles, a young figure in hood stood atop.

Unbeknownst to the duo locked in combat with the horde, a mysterious lone figure stood silently in the shadows, watching over them with calm and unwavering gaze.

Or rather, there appeared to be an undisguised disdain in his eyes.

Of course, Kiyo noticed the man long ago.

Therefore, he "struggled" a bit while fighting the tier 4 mutant to avoid revealing his strength.

The mutant prepared to end the battle, unleashing all his strength in a final strike.

Raising its clasped fist, it started to smash down ruthlessly on Kiyo's figure.

The young man once again revealed a hint of disdain as he watched Kiyo be frozen in fear, not moving an inch.

Soon enough, the fist struck down, smashing the ground into rubbles as dust filled up the area.

Once the dust cleared up, there was no figure under the fist of the mutant, in contrast to what the young man expected.

In its place was a crater made by the mutant's attack.

Soon, a figure revealed itself behind the mutant with its blade fully unleashed.

In a speed visible to the naked eye, the neck of the mutant suddenly split in half.

Shock and terror appeared in its seemingly unintelligent eyes.

The same goes for the hooded figure in the distance.

His pupil constricted as the youth with the blade tilted its head towards his direction before disappearing.

End of chapter 19.
