Chapter 3

As I train and my {ki sense} skill levels up the ki in my surroundings gets clearer, as well as being able to sense further away. After a little bit I noticed that ki in the air is less dense than ki in living beings.

More specifically the ki that flows in the tree I'm standing on is slightly denser. while Ki in the air is around half as dense.

There also seems to be a difference in temperament, as in state and movement. The trees ki flows stably and in a specific pattern in the branches and the trunk, i haven't been able to discern the pattern in the leaves yet. It kind of feels like its the blood of the tree in a way, trying to supply it with life.

While ki in the air is everywhere, it is definitely less dense, it also doesn't seem to flow unless there is some sort of stimulus like a distortion in space (as in some sort of physical movement). It doesn't have a goal or a 'personality' like the trees ki which provides life.

While my ki is different yet similar to both. in its natural state it moves around in my body. But if i try to use it, it acts according to my will. At least i was able to make it after a bit of training.

I was able to form a little sphere in my hands.

At the start it would just dissipate but soon after my control over it got better so it became stable. Now i need to get it moving.

concentrate. i move my hand while trying to keep the sphere in my hands and still keep it stable, but halfway through the motion it dissipates.

Guess im gonna have to train it a little bit more before i make progress. but its gonna be fast, i have a system doing the bigger part of the job anyways. i just have to continue repetition!

Current time: 1 PM

My passive skills raised quite a good amount after the training session

My ki sensing and control raised a decent amount more than the others because I was constantly training them by sensing the ki in the area and trying to control it. In the meantime though I found a new use of ki sense.

By sensing the ki in the area you can understand the terrain. Therefore if i concentrate i am able to sense the terrain and whatever is in it as well. Any movement is also sensible but hard to follow right now because my [ki sense] skill level is still too low. same with my range of sensing.

But my sensing has improved greatly! When i started i was only able to sense about half a meter around me but now i can cover the whole backyard! Which means i am able to sense up till 20 meters away from me. The quality of the sensing drops off the further away but that isn't a issue because i can just train it passively while doing other things.

Even this way its gonna take longer to level it up, its still great since doing it passively from morning till night is gonna give some benefits regardless.

My ki control also got way better. Now not only can i form a sphere that's stable and moves wherever i want it to, but i make it spin around 15 times a second! with this spin it propels itself forward easier and faster and the resulting ki blast is stronger!

It might not be enough to hurt someone much right now. But that was because i am not using as much chi as my body can provide since that would expose me. And im sure they would make a fuss over it.

I can definitely make a explosion strong enough to crack a brick wall if i use more ki, but if i try that there will be many changes to my life that would happen very fast. Like the caretaker thinking i have two quirks and as a result she will push me forward as the most promising each time someone visits to adopt. And there is a high possibility I will be adopted. No. A definite possibility that i will be adopted.

Normally a persons quirk is first awakened at 4 years old. At this age Bakugo quirk was only strong enough to make small firecrackers. My ability to almost down a brick wall with a explosion would be on a different league. So realistically my 'explosion quirk' will have greater strength later as well. So im sure many would run from the other side of the country to adopt me. They might not even want to adopt me but just want to use me for future profit.

I don't want that. Even if it isn't for profit, I still don't want to get adopted. It would get in the way of my training. And i honestly don't think i can forget about my parents in my last life, so i wont be able to see the new ones like actual parents.

"Igarashi! where are you!?"

Shit, they are searching for me.

the backdoor opens again as a little girl passes through.

"Did you find him? He has never been lost before... im worried...". she asks the older boy.

"Not yet. He never got out of the building by himself. Not that he went out much even with anybody else. But i don't think he got lost, he is probably just sleeping somewhere, the winter cold doesn't bother him much anyways."

Her face lights up a bit

"Yeah! igarashi-kun has a really strong body even though he is small and cute! his tail is cute too! But he doesn't let me touch it... But its true that he could be out sleeping somewhere. maybe because he sleeps too much on the bed and got bored of it?"

He looks at her considering her thought.

"It is possible. Enough talking, we need to find him! Its time for food and he is usually very hungry! We also cant be late because the food will go cold."

"Ah. yes!"

Both children go around searching for Igarashi.

Unbeknown to them a figure slowly climbs down the biggest tree in the yard.

Damn, I don't want to deal with them asking me why i am outside by myself. im gonna take the chance and sneak past them. Who thought ki sensing would be used to sneak past kids.

I wait until they move further from the door and sneak past them fast but as quietly as i can. its easier than it would be normally because I'm still small so my weight steps don't produce as much sound.

I open the door and quickly go inside.

Sneaking past the kids might have been useless but i really don't want to listen to their bickering.

{ congratulations! [silent steps] skill has been acquired! }

It seems like my useless endeavor actually wasn't useless. If i level this up more im gonna be like a ninja. but i would also need some sort of presence erasure skill to achieve that.

Enough if my future ninja career. I am hungry, and saiyans need lots of food. But the orphanage cant really provide that much, but what i get is enough to keep me going till the next meal.

While walking through the hallway I hear someone behind me.

"Oi igarashi! where were you! Everybody was looking for you because you hid somewhere."

The familiar voice of Hiroto is heard with a accusing tone. I turn around acting like I was caught doing something bad. I got to keep the act of a kid up so that I wont be suspicious. He starts walking towards me.

"Dont go around by yourself without telling anybody, you are very young so you get lost easily. And its not nice to make us search around for you alright?!". He says loudly while grabbing me with one hand and lifting me to his chest.

Why is this guy treating me like a little baby?! Its really annoying!

But i am 3 years old so it makes sense that he does. He is a pretty good guy. he also has a better personality than baguko it seems. i might have gotten the wrong idea before. Is it because im too young? Or is it that he has a better attitude than Bakugo because he wasn't spoiled by people around him and because he doesn't have a good quirk he gets a better understanding of life?

Is this how Baguko could have been if he was in Hiroto's shoes?

I look up at him apologetically. Trying to be as cute as I can.

"Sorry Hiroto-nii. I was bored and decided to play around." I say, making my tail drop on his shoulder.

He looks at me slightly and answers

" Just don't go around doing that again alright!? you become a burden to everybody else, and that's never a good thing OK?"

"o-ok".

A slight grin appears on his face, signifying his satisfaction.

A thought passes through my mind. He isnt one of those kids right? but its quite likely taking into consideration the culture this era is based on.

"Hey. Hiroto-nii. do you want to be a hero when you grow up?"

He stops in his tracks. he looks at me slightly angry and annoyed.

It seems to have been a delicate subject eh?

"where did that come from?"

I shudder under his glare.

"I-i-i was just curious!" i say meekly.

Keeping this act up is annoying but i need to. at least until i am old enough to act more mature without it being weird.

He clicks his tongue.

"I wanted to when i was younger. But reality doesn't work like that ok? My quirk isn't strong enough to do any damage. Best i could do is blind somebody and sucker punch him after. If we had better quirks we wouldn't even be here anymore, some family would have adopted us."

confidence issues eh? droughting his quirk.

I tense up my muscles slightly as i shudder excitedly, trying to manipulate my body language so that I act more excited and genuine.

"But isn't that good? if you blind them for a longer period you can bash them without giving them a chance to fight back! Its flashy and cool!"

"..."

He looks at me with less annoyance. my praise seems to make him think a little bit more about it.

Head moves slightly to the sides as he breathes out with slight disappointment, dismissing the thought.

"its not that easy. just forget about it. i cant become one."

He continues walking.

It hurts me slightly seeing him like this.

I have to convince him more. but i cant bring up the same example, that would be counter efficient.

Think, think, think.

AHA! Got it!

"B-Bu-But what if you can hit them with stronger light! like that time when jess brought a ma-magnify, magnifly(?) glass and used the light coming from the sun to light up some tinder! Ca-Cant you compress the light from your ha-hands?"

He stops abruptly and looks at me. His eyes seem to light up at the realization. slowly but surely life is filing them up.

" Do you perhaps mean a magnification glass?!"

His body language completely changes as he places me down and grabs my shoulders rocking me fast.

"Ye- Yeah! That thing! Cant you make a lot of light at one point and throw laser beams that go Boom! Boom! Boom! And beat up the bad people!?" i say as childishly and excited as possible.

As a response his eyes open wide. staring at me, but his gaze isnt truly on me. His eyes are not in the physical world, instead he is in his own imagination. Where a new fire seems to have been lit in his soul.

He quickly comes back to reality

"That... that.... Could actually work!!!" He shouts as he started to rock me faster.

"Hi-HiRoOtooO- SStoP MoVi-"

"Igarashi! your idea could work! IT CAN WORK! I can be a hero! You are a genius! Now I understand why Jess never stops flaunting about you! I might not be able to make strong enough beams yet but with some training its possible! Thank you Igarashi! Thank you for opening my eyes!" He shouts as he stops moving me.

I Look stupefied at the sudden change in attitude. Cause I actually am! I didn't expect this dude would change so fast! That was sudden!

Before i can retort he does something even more unexpected. he wraps his arms around me as he presses his chest forward while bringing me in closer.

He just HUGED me.

I Have never even seen this dude even COMPLEMENT anyone (with a exception being jess).

"Thank you.... little bro."

"Suuuuurrre" I respond. my brain having short-circuited a little too much for me to act correctly. my childish expression disappeared and instead a surprised look took over my face.

"Pfft! what's with your face! HAHaha! Ive never seen you with a face like that! If only i could take a picture of it! Jess would kill to see your face right now!"

I cover my face with my hands in embarrassment.

"D-Dont bully me!"

My try seems to have the opposite affect as he laughs harder. grabbing his stomach as he falls on his side.

"HAHAHA!! I knew you where cute because you are young but I didn't know you could be this funny as well! You never change expression and we just assumed you are one of those stone-faced kids! Who knew you had such a funny side! I am definitely telling Jess! She's gonna turn green with jealousy! i cant even imagine how good it will be!"

This Bastard! If he does that i don't even know what jess will do! But I'm sure she will pester me more than she normally does when she comes back from her job!

"Don't do it! She's gonna pester me even more!"

His laughter slowly tides down as he relaxes his body. a grin appears on his face as he looks at me playfully.

I have a bad feeling about this! he is definitely scheming something!

" Hoooo? Our little Igarashi doesn't like how much attention jess give him?"

This sly bitch! I already know where this is going!

"Jess would be sooo sad if she heard about this hehee! If she did she would cry and then smother you even more until you break! That would be VERY entertaining to see! Hehee!"

SHIT SHIT SHIT This is bad! If he does that she really will cry! and she will forcefully use be as a hug pillow until she 'forgives' me.

In other words: For weeks i will be like a teddy bear whenever she is free or when she is sleeping!

No personal space! constant bickering! being used! Its comparable to getting a possessive girlfriend!

No! A possessive wife! Since we live in the same house and room.

I have to do something!

"Hirotooo. Don't do that! jess is gonna be sad!" I retort.

His grin widens.

"So its because jess will be sad?"

"Mhm!"

"And you don't want to hurt her?"

"Mhm!"

"You love Jess?"

"Mhm!"

"Respect her?"

"Mhm!"

"Is Jesse annoying when she pesters you?"

"Mhm! very mu--- WAIT A M-"

He burst out laughing. Unable to hold back.

"You played with me!" i shout at him angrily.

"No i didn't! You just truthfully answered my questions~. Jess will feel reeaally bad when she hears that you don't like her 'pestering'. But she's gonna loooove it when she hears our little Igarashi has a crush on her~!"

"wha? I don't have a crush on her! i didn't say that! You lier!"

His stupid grin widens.

"But you said you loved her? I asked you and you accepted. Don't worry, she will love the news and will shower you with much more love than before. Taking ALL your free time to sleep like you usually do."

Manipulative bastard! I take it back, he is worse than Bakugo !

"NOO! I beg of you!"

"Beg? Hmmm. But wouldn't it be better if she heard of your feelings? She is gonna be elated to hear."

Im not gonna even argue with the dude about the crush part. he is trying to make me dig a even deeper hole for myself.

"NO. she doesn't need to know!"

"But why not?"

He wants to make me fall deeper. This cunning shithead. Guess I will have to pull out my trap card.

"If you do i will tell about how you have been going out at night somewhere out of the orphanage."

His grin disappears as he tries to process the new info. Frowning hard after he realizes i know his secret

That's the face I want to see! You deserve it bitch! I wake up at night quite often because of the smell he carries with him when he comes back. A ancient saiyans sense of smell is extraordinary. so the smell of smoke and sometimes beer is very evident. I didn't want to invade in his privacy but he asked for it!

'A little shit is blackmailing me?'

He tenses up as he opens his mouth

" All right. I dont know how you know of this but since we both have secrets to keep, we can just both keep our mouths shut and sealed. Is that a good enough deal?"

"Hehe. It sure is good enough for me"

We both wear a slightly forced smile as we shakes hands.

'I just got my ass handed to me by a freaking three year old. Jess might actually be underestimating how smart he is.. There is no chance that I'm the stupid one...right?..."

Take that bastard. have it in the back of your mind that i just outsmarted your outsmarting. Always three parallel universes ahead of you!

"HEEEYY. What are you still doing there?! the food has already gone cold!"

We both hear a voice, breaking our stalemate

""Coming"" we both shout back as we start walking to get our cold meal.
