Chapter 76: Memory Lane

I stared at the face of my old university with a smile. Sighing in relief. I survived the bullying. I survived all the rich and medium class students. I am happy to be leaving this place but Luke wanted to get something from here. I know Luke was asked to come here when they found out about him stopping by. Luke had brought me as well but not because of anything stupid. But because he wanted to give me a surprise but you know. Entering another territory is difficult. I just never expected an Alpha to be the director of my old university. I can at least how it had grown and how it is so huge. I am so happy I graduated a long time ago. No more studying.

Just working and living my own life well not exactly working just living life with my lover. I am so excited to just look around. It's been such a long time since I was last here. I inhaled deeply wanting to catch the fresh smell this place always had but the scent of cigarette's got stuck in my throat so I started coughing a bit. Nasty products.

I looked to the side and noticed a male. Mean looking type of male. I saw how his eyes stared at one direction and I looked behind me. A female. She looks well dressed but she seems like a nice girl. We looked similar but not identical. Maybe our attitudes may be the same. Maybe. I felt a gentle tug and I looked to the side. Luke had a big smile on his face and it made me smile gently at him. Excited to roam a bit. So I just followed his lead. I move slightly but someone bumps with me and I looked to the culprits and it's the usual group of girls. Gossiping away. That will never change. No matter the statues and no matter the school. One of the girls looked back and stared at Luke. Recognizing him. As they kept walking the girl had whispered to the posy of other girls. Annoying. Completely and utterly annoying.

The rest of the girl I suppose didn't even care to look back. I glanced to Luke once again as he just huffs a bit annoyed and all I did was hold his hand tightly. But in the end I just looked forward. I noticed the signs. Luke stopped as he needed to read them first. I only searched to one specific one. This place must have changed a lot since the last time I was here. I hear gentle steps and I looked to the side. It was the girl from before. I tilt my head. I tried stopping her but it seemed she is in a hurry. I wanted to know if the library had changed locations. I looked back to the signs but my vision was hurting a bit.

So I started rubbing my eyes "Are you ok my love?"

I squinted my eyes as I tried looking at Luke so I responded "My eyes... They ache a bit..."

"I think something landed by your eyes... Let me see" he tells me gently

He releases my hand from his hold as he touches my eye lips. Opening my eyes widely as I felt something sting a bit. Something did get stuck in my eyes and I just didn't notice. He started blowing at it and I on instinct started moving my eyes a bit. Almost blinking a bit. But being that Luke had hold my eyes wide open I just couldn't blink. Once he finished and let me blink. I rubbed my eyes a little bit but I felt the sweet relief at whatever it was. I sighed out and just thanked Luke gently. I started blinking my eyes rapidly to get the moisture back. As having dried eyes always feels completely annoying.

I hear Luke's voice and so I turn to look. Both males looked fearsome. Wasn't that the male that was smocking outside. He was face to face with Luke. Both not looking completely happy about each other. I can sense the rage and negativity from both of them. I don't think that male is another wolf. They looked at each other with such hatred. I thought they would be fighting by now. I touched Luke's shirt and he glances at me. I think his mental state ended up remembering I am present. I don't want to see Luke fighting.

The male huffs and speaks "Seems like you are lost... Alpha"

"Actually I am asked to arrive here... A fellow Alpha is also here" Luke responded with a sneer

He sighs out while responding Luke "Oh you must have arrived for Alpha Jacob... His office is at the very end of the hall on your right"

"I don't believe a word your saying" Luke responds to him as he crosses his arms

"I do not lie Alpha... Alpha Jacob has saved my life once and if he has asked of you then just follow the damn instructions" he responds with an annoyed huff

Time for me to interrupt "E-E... Excuse me... Wh-Where is the library?"

I felt Luke's eyes on me but the male didn't stare at me as he spoke "I am actually heading to that location... I'll show you the way"

"Are you getting something love?" Luke asked me

"Yeah... I want to see if they still have my favorite book... Once your done with the Alpha just send me a message" I tell him with a gentle smile

"Alright... Just be careful" Luke just stared at the male as he said that

"I will my love" I tell him with a bigger smile

I started walking to the library with the male as I felt Luke's eyes on the back of my head but I wanted to give two Alpha's some privacy while I get something from the library. I remember that there was a time where one could buy books in the library. So this time I am using my card to buy myself something before the surprise. I want to check if they still have those test books. I want to take one for one of the pack's children. Was it Jason? I think Jason one of the pack's teenagers is about to go to college so I want to see if there are still practice books here. I think he wanted to study something that revolved around a lot of math. So I think that practice book is still available. I need to check if they are selling some though I don't want to look stupid but if there are then I should buy maybe three just in case.

If my memory serves me right they use to have weekly sales in the past. The old principal before he retired insisted that instead of getting rid of the books in the trash to sell them off for a cheaper price right there. Though to buy them you'd have to use card. I usually carry cash but to avoid students stealing or employee's card is the way to go. But that was back in the past. I just hope they updated it a little bit. I do still hope the same librarian is still here. I was her assistant back then to get the extra credits. Oh such memories. I noticed the male walk ahead as she opened the door.

I tilt my head a bit but noticed he was letting me enter first. I thanked him and once inside the library he entered as well. I just stood there as I didn't notice the librarian in her desk. I can't pass as I do not have a student card. I saw him slid his student card and then I heard the librarian greet at a distance. But once I saw her face and she saw mine we had a big smile on our faces. She is the librarian I know and love. I wish I could have visited her in the past but running away from my mother is not a good thing. She was so nice to me in the past. Back then I was usually the quiet one in here so she likes me more than anyone else in this university.

I walked to her gently as she places a bunch of books down. Being that I am not a student she will have to press a button so I can pass the detectors. I didn't notice the detectors. But seems like shoot outs have happened before. The male was already gone and I felt completely confused but I shouldn't be expecting anything I know that nobody goes to the back area. Books of old are there and are usually restricted to the students. Did they change that also? I remember the restricted books back there. It's been three years since the last time I was here. She dings me and once I passed the gate I went and hugged her tightly. This place is empty. Well except for the fact that the male walked to the back area.

It means it has changed a lot. Adorable. Once we separate from the hug I can see the giant smile on her face. She has gotten older. I can already see the silver hairs started to show.

"It has been such a long time how are you?" she asked me with a big smile

I smiled gently as I say "Oh you now the same... Except I have a fiancée now"

"I see no ring?" she tells me as she stares at my hands

"Well actually... He wants to surprise me... I accidentally left the promise ring back home"

I looked around as she spoke "Oh that's understandable... I remember a time where you would panic if you lost something... So it's ok..."

It made me smile widely and the door opened to reveal Luke with a man beside him. That must be the other Alpha. That was quick. The both had big smile but once Luke noticed me his eyes brightened up. The other male looks at me confused but then just smiled gently. Like every Alpha. They all stare at me as if I am a anomaly.

I just hope everything is ok.
