Visions and Nero's Quirk
"Because I can see where they came from and how their species lives. All of them are intelligent and as capable as humans and so they are not mindless monsters." Although it may seem less believable than a god telling me they are aliens, this explanation is actually more common in this world than you would think.
It is a proven fact that many people have dream like visions when they first awaken their quirks. The visions vary from person to person even if they have similar quirks. For example there was a report about two kids with similar fire related abilities where one reported seeing a small flame light up while the other person reported being surrounded by flames, he said that for some reason he knew it was the sun that was around him.
These visions were confirmed because kids around the world kept reporting them when they went to the doctor to register their quirks. It is theorized that the visions one sees directly corelate to the potential of the quirk but it has never been proven.
My mother has a book about these visions that people have, and it says there has not been an actual reason found as to why these visions are seen. There are only theories, the most prominent ones being that they are to help us learn about our quirks, they allow us to see the potential of the quirk or that they are showing us the future which is not believed by many since most of those visions have not become reality.
Right now those visions are not important to me since I have not personally seen them and I am just using them as excuses as to why I know my aliens are in fact aliens and not anything else and this excuse works because there have been reports of visions of other races and how they live.
These type of visions are mainly seen by people with transformation or mutation type quirks whether animals, monsters, or fictional beings such a demons and dragons, they see part of the lives of their race in the point of view of one of them.
For example someone that can transform into a Dragon had a vision about a colony of dragons living in a hidden mountain that didn't exist in this planet. Then they saw as the mountain was invaded and a big war between dragons and many other races that feared them for their incredible power occurred which ended with the near extinction of dragons.
Such visions have been reported all over the world and although most times these visions show major events such as wars or battles, the visions don't necessarily need to be about that, they can be about the technology, culture or just daily life as that specific species. It is theorized that the visions are another beings experiences.
Finished with my train of thought I looked at everyone to see if they bought my lie and everyone except my mother looked convinced. For a second I was scared that mom was going to say something but she kept it to herself, probably to ask me later in private since she knew that I would not lie for a small reason.
Nero was the first one to speak after gathering his thoughts. "I see so they are aliens. Could you tell me more about how they live and their technology, cultu..." He kept asking questions one after another not giving me time to even answer one of them but thankfully mom who knew I was lying brought the conversation back to the beginning.
"Alright Nero stop asking questions. Lets do what we are here for, tell us what you know about his new ability." Mom said.
"Ah yes sorry for that I got a bit carried away. Now his new alien is named Ventrilosquid and..." Nero started to explain everything about Ventrilosquid to my family.
Once he finished grandma asked. "Azmuth could you transform into your new alien?"
I was reluctant to do so but to not disappoint them I did it after saying. "Alright but it would be fast, it hurts having so many eyes." And so after a few seconds as the alien I went back to normal. Although I had my eyes closed the whole time I still didn't like transforming into him due to the bad experience.
Once they saw how I looked they had several questions to ask but Nero brought the topic about visions back up, which to avoid getting myself caught in a lie I decided to act like I didn't hear him and changed the topic by asking a question I always wanted to ask. "Nero how are you able to know about my quirk by touching me?"
Quickly he responded. "Well little Azmuth it is part of my quirk. My quirk allows me to roam someone's body when I am in contact with them. Which allows me to read someone's DNA like I am reading a book." Stopping for a second he got closer to me and continued.
"I am able to read quirks because they are a part of everyone's DNA with the only exception being you. The first person that I am unable to see the full capabilities of, since for some reason I am only able to see that you get what you call aliens that you are able to set connections with, but that is all your DNA says until you set up a connection. You see when you are connected to an alien your DNA changes, whether partial or fully, depending on what you would like, and it is fascinating to see your DNA change completely like that. Any other questions"
"Wow your quirk is amazing Nero what else can you do?!" I asked happy that I got to know a little bit more about my quirk by asking a simple question.
Happily Nero answered my question. "Well many stuff related to the body. The most useful way I can use it is to determine what exactly is wrong with a person that is not feeling well and prescribe them whatever they may need. Although I only read the body and tell you what is wrong, I do not take any physical action like doing surgeries. Also my quirk is pretty useful in identifying crime suspects since with some DNA I can describe exactly what someone looks like. Sadly I am bad at drawing, if not I would be making drawings that can be confused for someone's picture. Sadly my quirk only allows to read and not change anything in the body to include mine."
"That's sooo cool Nero so you basically know everything about the human body!" I said surprised that a quirk like that was possible. A quirk able to advance biological science to a whole other level.
After some more talking and some lies since Nero would not stop asking about the visions we left after bidding farewell to the boss as well. My grandmother was extremely exited on the drive back due to her now confirming that she can train me since her quirk worked similarly to Ventrilosquid's ability.
Once we got home we ate while grandma started asking how I make the voices appear to see where I am at. She quickly pointed out that there was no need for me to imitate vocal cords if I know what type of wave a specific vocal cord makes, allowing me to speak faster. I was able to do it half an hour after lunch since I knew what my voice waves look like already.
My grandma was amazed since it was quite difficult to imitate the vibrations a mouth can create without first making the vocal cords. But once I told her that I can only replicate mine she started teaching me a lot more about vocal cords. Every little movement can change one's voice and so it is not easy to replicate someone's voice unless you have heard that voice a lot.
After some explanations from grandma I was able to replicate mom's and dad's voices pretty easily since I hear them every day. But I failed to replicate anyone else's voice sadly.
I spent the rest of the day training with the help of grandma. When it was getting late my mother led me to my room to sleep but once I was laying on my bed she leaned next to me and asked. "Sweetie do you have anything you want to tell me? I know you were lying about the visions, you know nobody can lie in front of me." To which I answered by lowering and shaking head a little afraid that she would be mad at me for lying.
"Its alright sweetie I am not mad at you I know you are smart and if you are hiding something it is for our well-being. If you do not want to tell me now just know that you can tell me, your dad or grandparents when you feel like it, no pressure. Just know that we all love you and we always will do. Happy dreams my baby." She said while hugging me and giving me a kiss on the forehead before leaving.
I felt bad for lying to them but how can I tell them the truth. There was no way because even if they do believe me, it may make my relationship with them different and I do not want that. Although I will tell them once I am older and confident that nothing would change.
Coming out of my thoughts, like usual I started reading and coding in my tablet while training my abilities. One alien that even after a lot of training I have not been able to accomplish much with is Disk Jockey. An alien with infinite possibilities but one that needs extensive knowledge and experience to master.
Every other alien has straightforward abilities that only require some practice to be able to use proficiently but Disk Jockey is different. He can in theory do infinite an amount of stuff but even with the intelligence of Grey Matter and three years of practice I have not even scratched the surface.
There are some things that I am already able to do, like manipulating sound waves to make them strong enough to destroy a boulder and small enough that they basically become non existent, use echolocation with sound waves or the vibrations of the things around me, and easily tap in and control radio waves or microwaves, but that is all I have accomplished until now.
There are many more type of waves that I know I am able to control but I need to experiment, test them and slowly become proficient in using them. Right now that was exactly what I was doing, messing around with visible light or colors.
It is amusing to change the colors of objects just by controlling the length of waves that are reaching them. For now I do not have enough control over visible light to change the color to anything I want but at least I can change it to black. For example if I change the wavelength of yellow to something else a banana would not be able to reflect yellow and since it would absorb every other color or wavelength it would look black.
I kept playing around with visible light for half the night until I was tired and decided to fall asleep.

Hello, please point out any mistakes I made in this chapter to include the mistakes I may have done when talking about wavelength and colors, I probably got them completely wrong but I will do my best to understand them.
Also if you didn't get the hint, I am not sure what else to do with Disk Jockey. I do not want to limit his abilities but honestly there are many types of waves that he can control and I am not sure how to implement them into the story or just don't have a good understanding of them, I also don't want to suddenly add them into the story when he is a tight spot so yeah.
