Chapter 2: Doing Quests

We went outside of the castle village and went to the west, we found a forest, I'm pretty sure this is where the goblins hide. We went into the forest, it was very dark, the trees blocked the sunlight, we just walked straight looking for goblins.

While finding the goblins, I'm thinking about how to use swords in a fight since this is the first time I hold a sword and use a sword.

*Swoosh*

Huh? What was that? Something fast just went past threw the side of my face, I looked behind to the ground to see what was that, it is an arrow.

"Get behind me!" I yelled at Jayden

Jayden who also noticed went behind me, I sheathed my sword, arrows can't just pierced thru armors, or maybe arrows can or fe depend on the weapon, so I'll be his human shield. I circled and looked around to see who just did that while Jayden followed behind me. A bush at the left suddenly moves like an animal went past it.

I readied myself and waited for it to reveal itself.

"CRAAAAWWWW"

A small green animal suddenly jumped at me from the bush, I just swung my sword.

*Ting*

I hit the green animal's sword and it flew away, the green animal backed off. I looked at it closely, is this what they called goblins? They are small, I could hear some clinging sound from its small bag when the goblin move and it is hanging on its belt.

I readied my sword, Jayden went beside me and readied his dagger, suddenly, three mysterious animals came out behind the goblin, it is another three goblins. Now, there are four goblins in front of us with small daggers. I'm pretty sure this are the four goblins we are looking for.

"Hey, I'll take the 2 and you take the other 2" Jayden said to me

"Okay" I replied

The six of us circled waiting for each other's attack, the 4 of them splitted into two, 2 facing Jayden and 2 facing at me. The 2 goblins facing me darted forward at me, I just swung my sword blindly, I missed, the 2 went forward to attack, I went backwards.

*Ting*

One of the goblins daggers hit my armor, I swung my sword to slash one of them, I missed. Now, the other goblin went forward and jumped at me, it climbed to my head. I grabbed the goblin and threw the goblin to the ground, is this even a beginner's quest?

The 2 goblins jumped at me and swung their daggers while I was going backwards swinging my swords back at them and hitting their swords.

*Ting Ting Ting Ting Ting*

I kept on swinging my swords at them, suddenly, my sword hit one of the goblins daggers and the dagger flew away, now this is my chance, I swing my sword at the unarmed goblin.

*Schlick*

Ewww, the way it sounded when I cutted it in half, this is my first time killing and seeing something gory, red blood came out. His goblin friend's eyes are full of terror as he sees his friend cut in half, the goblins face is full of anger while it looked at me.

The goblin darted forward at me, he's really very angry, the goblin climbed at me poking my armor. It climbed around my body, at the back and in the front, I finally caught it and smashed it on the ground, he laid there as I raised my sword.

*Schlick*

I pierced its stomach, it died on the spot. I looked at Jayden, his dagger is at the stomach of a goblin while carrying the goblin holding its head. He took the dagger out of its stomach and threw it on the ground, we both panted.

"They said that this is begginer's quest, it doesn't even look like one" he angrily said

"This is the first time we fought with this kind of weapon okay, of course we'll soon adapt to it or train on how to use and I think that the bigger the reward, the harder it is" I replied to him

We both carried the goblins we killed, hm? I heard clinging when I carried the two goblins, it came from their small bags hanging on their belt, maybe money? I opened the bags It was really money, I counted the gold coins from the bag of the first goblin I killed, 46 gold coins, now for the second one, 37 gold coins, I looked at Jayden.

"How many gold coins did you get from the goblins?" I asked

"50 gold coins from the first one and 60 from the second one, how about you?" He replied and asked

"I got 46 gold coins from the first one and 37 on the second one" I answered

"What an unlucky loot you have, want me to share you some so that we will be equal?" He said to me

"No you can keep it" I replied

"Okay, suit yourself then" he said back

I carried the two goblins and gave it to Jayden to store it in his sack, we went back to the guild and we entered. We approached the quest giver at the counter and gave her the quest scroll.

"We successfully finished our quest" I said to her

"Congratulations, before I give you both the reward, show me their belts" she said and asked gracefully

"Huh? Wait what?" I said with a surprised face

"Hmmmm? What's wrong?" She said completely confused but still smiling

"Uhhhhhh we brought their bodies" I replied

"Ohh, uuhhhh you're supposed to just bring their belts when you killed them" she said with a laugh

This is embarrassing, wait, I have an idea.

"Hey, give me the corpse, I'll bury it back in the forest" I said to Jayden

He nodded, he gave me the sack of corpses and went to a seat and ordered foods and drinks, oh right, curiosity got me.

"What do you call the people with those clothes?" I asked the lady and pointed at Jayden

"We called them rogues" she replied

"And what do they do?" I asked her again

"Rogues are very stealthy skilled individuals, they can do a lot of things such as stealth and ambushes for example you are going to ambush and steal a caravan, please don't do that here, next is they are known for good at backstabbing to stab their enemies vitals from behind, they are good at using daggers and good with close-combat skills, they are good in poisons and traps, evasion and dodging, hit-and-run tactics, feints and misdirection and their are good in adaptability and resourcefulness. Overall, rogues are known for their cunning, agility, and resourcefulness in combats." She said.....a lot

My god, that's a lot of information but at least i learned a lot, how about knights? I know what knights are and they are disciplined soldiers but maybe I can get some information from her if I want to become a real knight since this is the role the tree gave me....I'm just making up I really don't know who gave us this armors and robes.

"What about knights?" I asked

"To Knights they are renowned for their chivalry and combat prowess, often employ distinct tactics and strategies when engaging in battle or executing attacks, knights can also do a lot of things mounted combat like you use your horse for combat, charging with their lances, good at melee like long sword and broadsword or other melee weapons and it can be called swordsmanship, they are good at shield defence and offence, good at information and tactics, have heavy armor and endurance, good at siege warfare, and honorable at combat or respecting your opponents, for an example they prefer one-on-one duels or engage in combat with a sense of fairness and respect for their adversaries, overall, knights are distinguished by their martial prowess, discipline, and adherence to a code of honor." She said a lot.....again

Oh my god, I thought I was about to die after hearing a lot of information, but at least I learned something if I want to be a real knight. I said thank you to the lady and went back to the forest, I took out the four goblins corpses and took their belts, oh wait, I forgot the shovel, maybe hiding the corpses deeper in the forest will be a good idea but as a knight, burying your enemy is more better than disposing it in the open, but I had no choice.

I went deeper in the forest and hid the bodies, I respect the goblins with a salute, I don't know how knights will respect their killed enemy so salute is my only choice. I went back out of the forest, I was greeted again with a beautiful scenery when I got out, WOOOOWW, I went back to the guild, gave the lady the goblin belts.

She examined the belts carefully to see if it is a real goblin belts, it is confirmed.

"Thank you for your hard work and service, here is your reward and I hope that the both of you will come again to help the people in need and the whole village" the lady said

She gave me a bag of coins, I went to the table where Jayden sat, he already ordered food for me and it was untouched and hot. I counted the money and gave him the half of the money, now how much money did I earn today? 46 plus 37 plus 170 is equal to 253 gold coins, I'm not sure if I'm already rich in one day.

Now how about Jayden, hmmmm, 170 plus 60 plus 50 is equal to 280 gold coins, more money than I have but I'm not complaining. We ate our food peacefully, we both talked to each other, and asked how we ended up here, we both finally remembered now.

We both died because of loss of blood from our bullet wounds after killing the 21 terrorists who invaded the mall, as I remembered, me and Jayden and 2 random guys came to attack the terrorist with our fist and took their guns. We all receive fatal wounds and injuries and the ambulance is too late to save us, I'm pretty sure Jayden is the first one who died there.

We both finished our food and called the waiter so we will pay, it just cost 30 gold coins, the waiter said it should be 40 but there is a 10 gold coins discount for newcomers and new to the guild, we both split the bill.

Both of us went outside, it is nearly night time, now, an inn for a place to sleep. We found a nearby inn and went in, they greeted us cheerfully, they said that per night will be 10 gold coins, wow, so cheap. Me and Jayden rented the vacant rooms, we both went to our rented room. It is a medieval room like there's a cabinet, old style bed, chest and a lamp on the nightstand table near the bed.

I put my things in the chest and lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling, damn, I'm so addicted to my phone in my previous life but there's no phone here, well, I'll soon adapt to it by just doing quests and tasks. The quest was fun but dangerous, I yawned and went to sleep, wonder what's the next thing we're going to do tomorrow.
