Ch. 19 Deal

Driving in a rented 2000 Ford Taurus, Nick arrived at his destination located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Looking at the chained fence that had dozens of Keep Out signs covered in bullet holes, Nick immediately knew he was at the right location.

Exiting his car, he easily jumped the fence and entered the scrapyard that was filled with stacked destroyed car, making it appear maze like and giving an eerie atmosphere.

Nick didn't know how, but he immediately felt that someone was watching him as he walked through the path of destroyed car and saw the house.

Despite being surrounded by trash and destroyed vehicles, the two story blue house looked relatively clean. The paint was chipped slightly and items were cluttered about, but it would only a few hours of cleaning and a new paint job to make the house look decent again.

Nick began walking over to the front door of the house only to come to a complete stop and raise his hands in the air as the door swung open and a old man holding a shotgun came out.

The man had brown graying short hair that was covered up by a blue trucks hat and had a trimmed beard. He was 6'0" tall and had a slightly round alcohol belly but had toned firearm that steadily held his gun at Nick.

"I don't know who you are, but by the count of ten I expect you to be leaving" The old man's voice gravily and serious.

"Hello Mr. singer, I am a friend if Sam and Dean! I have come to make a major proposition!" Nick said quicky as he saw Bobby's finger was already on the trigger.

"I ain't look to be making any deals, and I've never heard any of those boys mention you before. So like I said, get the hell off of my property!" Nick could see the old man wondering if he'll have to kill someone.

"Mr. Singer, I've come on behalf of the Government to make you a deal, I'd strongly recommend you discontinuing to point your gun at N.I.A. Agent..."

Despite being held at gun point, Nick felt confident in being able to draw and shoot faster than Bobby could process his movement.

Despite being a skilled monsters hunter, the man was in his mid fifties and his reflexes were diminishing day by day and couldn't compare to the trained N.I.A agent who had increased reflexes and dexterity l thanks to absorbing a human and a snake.

Nick didn't want this outcome, but Bobby was sitting on a mountain of knowledge that he needed in order to defeat the supernatural and if he wasn't willing to share, then Nick would have to take it by force.

"Mr. Singer, what Im proposition to you will completely change the hunting world, saving thousands of civilians from monsters and greatly improving the lives and safety of Hunter's."

Looking deep into Nick's eyes, Bobby pointed his gun downward as he reached into his pockets and pulled out a flask. Without asking, Bobby opened the flask and flung the liquid onto Nicks face, resulting in Nick having to wipe the liquid off with a minor annoyed face.

"Holy water? You couldn't just asked me to drink it instead of getting me wet, Mr. Singer."

"I don't know where your mouth had been boy! Now get in here before I change my mind about all of this!" Bobby said as he beckoned Nick into his house.

As he walked into the cluttered house of Bobby Singer, Nick walked pass the stairs leading to the second floor and saw stack of books about monster, fairy's, demigods, etc. nearly reaching the ceiling.

Following the man into the kitchen, Nick walked over multiple Demon Traps and runes that would prevent most supernatural creatures from escaping.

"Take a seat and give me your pitch." Bobby said as they arrived at the dinner table.

Sitting down, Nick watched as Bobby pulled out two cups and a bottle of whiskey before sitting infront off him, pouring both of them a drink.

"The American Government has long since understood the presence of supernatural creatures, but saw that citizens stepped forward and dealt with them. This worked well when these creatures were relatively rare but for reasons we can't identify, supernatural creatures seem to be steadily rising all over the world and has forced the governments hands."

Taking a sip of the cheap alcohol, Nicks had to force himself to drink the disgusting liquid and keep a straight face, refusing to let Bobby see any weakness.

"I am apart of a new division in the N.I.A., we are independent investors that are occasionally sent out to search and investigate supernatural anomalies before reporting them, giving the government a chance to study it, before destroying it."

Sipping on his cheap tequila, Bobby listened intently at what Nick was saw as he realized the implications of what he was saying.

"At first they planned on arresting any hunter that they came across in their investigation, but I've managed to convince my Director that Hunters can be a resource for the division and that's why I've come to you Mr. Singer. You are well connected in the Hunter community, so I'd like you to spread the word about what we've discussed and give them this number."

Taking out a business card, Nick slid it over to Bobby.

"If they pass our tests, their criminal records will be completely cleaned, their expenses for hunting will be covered and they will be payed regular salary plus bonus depending on certain monsters. As for you Mr. Singer..."

"What about me?" Squinting his eye's in suspicion, Bobby voice gained an edge.

"Well Mr. Singer, you are sitting on piles of knowledge that is extremely rare,if not one of a kind. In order to help combat the supernatural, we'll need your help and knowledge.

"And if I say no? You'll what, sending in the swat to just ransack this place and take everything...." Bobby said as he looked Nick dead in the eye, causing him to sweat.

"No Mr. singer, I haven't even told my superiors about your name or location out of respect for Sam and Dean. I didn't even take my government issued vehicle and left my phone at the motel, so that even if you don't want to make the deal, they won't know your location. If you'll allow it, I'll just take pictures and copies, I won't be taking the originals!"

Nick knew that Bobby was a dangerous man with powerful supernatural spells and artifacts, he doubt the old man would use them against him but knowing what he'd capable of, Nick was polite. If Bobby still refused, Nick would let the swat take care of it while he was a safe distance away.

Bobby just sat in his old rickety kitchen chair and drank hisbtequila in silence, heavily contemplating what Nick just said.

"If what your saying is true, the America Hunting world is going to revolutized and become more streamlined. Having hundreds to possibly thousands of trained Hunters with the backing of the entire Governments behind them will surely wipe out the growing supernatural threat....."

Sipping on his cheap tequila, Bobby's mind was made up.

"I'll let you copy everything except for violent spells and incantations, I don't trust with anyone with the power to kill via incantation and rituals, and I especially don't trust the government knowing it. Do we have a deal?" Sticking his hand out, Bobby looked Nick in the eyes.

"That's more than enough Mr. Singer, and please spread the word that we're recruiting Hunters." Shaking his hand, Nick felt like he had done a great job.

"If we're gonna be working together, stop calling me 'Mr. Singer' and call me Bobby, Nick"

"Alrighty, Bobby"

Leaving Bobby's house, Nick returned his rented car before taking his slightly dented SUV to a Staples store. Nick spent thousands of dollars on over a hundred high quality notebook, using the government's money of course, before returning back to Bobby's junkyard.

Driving through the now opened gate, Nick stopped in front of Bobby's door as he began to feel a little dread.

'There are thousands of books that I'll have to copy onto notebooks, take pictures and print them out before attaching them to their respective page, all while being under the watchful eye of distrusting old man.... This is going to be hell'
