Taking a napkin and wiping his mouth, Nick pushed his platez to the side "Now then, what have you two been looking at this afternoon, got any gain for the case?"
Sam and Dean looked at each other and shook their heads at the same time.
Nick curled his lips: "Really?" Nick knew they were lying since they completed this case in the show. "Since it appears the two of you are unwilling to cooperate, I'll be taking my leave then."
Seeing Nick stand up and wanting to leave, Dean sighed and said, "Route 28, Beth Fuggin."
Nick smiled and sat back down before taking out a piece of paper from his binder and placed it in front of Dean and Sam. The paper was a photocopy of a photo of a female corpse, the corpse was bloated from the water and it's arms were bent and broken in awkward angles from slamming into the water, a very eerie and scary image that would traumatized most people.
"This is Beth Fuggin," Nick said in a deep quite voice, "Her maiden name is Beth Arnold, an Ohio native. She moved to this town with her husband, kolff Fuggin, in 1992 and gave birth to two children. One boy and one girl."
Nick said as he put the copied files on the table.
"I have collected information all of the missing cases in the past ten years. Among them, 16 cases that are similar to Jack's disappearance, and every incident takes place between July 15 and 21 each year. It was July 15, 1996 when Beth committed suicide. From this date alone, it can't just be a coincidence."
Dean and Sam looked at the photocopy that Nick took out, and Sam frowned, "Then the source of this series of disappearances should be Beth's ghost, all we need to do is dig her up before salting and burning the corpse. "
"It's not that simple," Nick once again took out a certificate and frowned. "According to the will left by Beth and kolff when they got married, her body has already been cremated and scattered into the sea after their autopsy."
Dean was taken aback: "If this is the case, then Beth shouldnt be the one who's killing these men"
"No, it has to be her," Nick affirmed, "Although I don't know why her ghost still exists after her body was cremated, it is definitely this woman that caused this series of disappearances."
"Woman in white?" Dean picked up the file, looked at it carefully, and wondered, "If she already been cremated, how can you be sure that she is the murderer?"
'Because this sounds somewhat familiar to what I watched on the supernatural TV show!'
Nick had only watched the supernatural TV show once and didn't remembered the major plot points before he transmigrated, however absorbing the giant man on the airplane seemed to make his recollection increase drastically as his brain and every other part of his body became stronger and more efficient.
Nick tried to explain something that would make sense "Her husband went missing a year prior to her suicide and Beth was the main suspected in the investigation as detectives found signs that Kolff had been cheating on her. She probably killed her husband in anger after finding out he cheated, only to realize she was going to end up in prison for his murder and so she killed her children before herself! She obviously blamed everything on her husband, why else would this ghost only target men."
In truth both Sam and Dean believed that Beth was most likely the ghost, they just didn't want to involve and endanger an N.I.A. agent. In such an unstable and chaotic battle against the supernatural, there was very little room for error and they didn't have confindence in protecting Nick.
Dean coughed twice and whispered: "Well if you are right, and she has already been cremated, how can we destroy her?"
Nick frowned and said, "We should do this one step at a time, we need to find her before we can destroy her."
"Well how do we find her then?"
Nick scratched his forehead: "I have an idea, but Its a stupid one."
Dean smiled and confidently said, "Don't underestimate us, we do stupid ideas on the weekly!"
"That's great," Nick said with a smile, "You see, from 1997 to 2006, two people will go missing every year. This year, only Jack has gone missing"
"So my plan is, starting from this evening, the three of us will drive separately and go around on to Route 28. Just like the men who disappeared."
Nick's finger lightly traversed the highway line on the map.
Sam frowned: "Are we the bait to lure her out?
Nick smiled, "Yup, so what do you think of this plan?"
"But what if Beth attacks other pedestrians on that road? After all, this is a very large stretch of road, the amount of men driving on the would be alot"
Nick nodded: "I also thought about this, so I went and notified the local police station that a ground sonar picked up a massive sink hole under the highway. Until the 21st, the police will close the entire route 28, only leaving only the three of us on the road. They've already put up cones redirecting the the civilians along a different route"
Seeing as how Nick was already planning on doing this without them, Sam and Dean decided to join in. So with everything ready, the boys all left the diner, Sam clutching his empty wallet, while Nick was carrying a take out box.
[3 days later, July 21 2007]
Nick drove his SUV slowly down the highway, with a deafening loud heavy metal CD playing, trying to stay awake, multiple empty McDonald's coffee cups on the floor of his car.
After a big yawn, Nick picked up a walkie talkie "Sam, Dean, It's been thirty minutes, report."
After a while, Sam picked " there is no situation, everything is normal." his voice had a hint of tiredness
"Same on my end, nothing out of the normal" Dean, who was the most use to hunting at Night, sounded completely normal
After Nick yawned again, he frowned "Do you thinks she's not appearing because we are not her type?"
"Hehe..." There was an awkward tired laugh from the walkie-talkie.
"Maybe, or she saw through our trap and is hiding from us." Nick shook his head "If this is the case, then from tomorrow I'll have to reopen the roads, I've already got the local authorized hounding me on when the construction team gonna fill up the sinkhole.
*Radio static*
"Hello? Hey guys, did you hear that?"
There was dead silence over the walkie talkie. After a while, a piercing electronic noise suddenly sounded from the it, forcing Nick to turn the walkie talkie off.
At the same time the cars radio started malfunctioned, and the surrounding temperature began to drop rapidly.
Nick let out a deep breath, creating a white mist from his mouth.
"Please...take me home!"
The strange, cold woman's voice suddenly resounded from his back seat.
