Sojourn

"It's a good thing we checked huh?" Lucius voiced as they walked back to their shared home, releasing a small huff of smoke from his mouth as he gazed into the starry sky.

"Mhm, found out the traders ingredients are terrible too." She muttered. "No more coin from me."

"So? About before... Hop worlds for a visit?" Lucius asked, steering his eyes from the stars to the girl next to him.

"Yeah, we could... Honestly- you could probably take the entire hunt by yourself. Eredin likes to use hostages though, and I can't just take us to my parents by choice. It's too risky." She said.

"We have to go at some point, Ciri." Lucius softly replied. "Maybe, if we train your power? I could examine it for it's properties and try to learn how it works?" He offered.

"That's always an option. People have tried teaching me but to no avail. Hmm, imagine you only have a 20 page book, but 100 pages worth of ink." Ciri tried explaining. "Wait, that sounds stupi-

"You have more latent power than you or your body can understand how to use?" Lucius smiled at her rambling.

"Yes, that's one way to put it... It also bursts out with emotion. My real mother tore apart a ballroom with a scream, for example." She continued on.

"So, a bloodline of spacial powers..." Lucius spoke into the air.

"And time." Ciri cut in.

"Bloodline of spacial and time powers then." He corrected himself. "Does it have history or notoriety in your world?" He asked.

"I'm a distant descendent of a women called Lara Dorren. She was an elf that had the same Elder blood. Something her race used as an ultimate weapon. She fell in love with a human mage, had kids... I'm sure you can fill in the rest." She waved off and entered their home.

"So if you get enough control over your power you can just jump around timelines? Shit, the opportunities that opens up... You could train with Lara herself." Lucius suggested.

"I think messing with timelines is too dangerous, Lucius." Ciri smiled. "I read some of your books on dragon breaks when you made my necklace, so I won't be messing around with that." She replied, playing with the medallion around her neck.

"Ah, well. I may have ripped a page from a book in library at the college." He said, looked away. "Some prophecy about a dread lord and a prince. I think that Harkon guy might be the dread lord."

"Did you? Then I wouldn't go back to Urag anytime soon." She laughed.

Lucius took a seat at a small table and opened a book. "We could go to other worlds right? I doubt mine and yours are the only ones." He pondered.

"You seemed to take the fact other worlds exist rather well." Ciri voiced with a raised brow, leaning back onto her chair.

"Well other realms and plains exists here, so it's not out of the question for whole other worlds to exist either." Lucius responded, turning a page. "Any interesting worlds you've been through?"

"Heh, you wouldn't believe me." She smiled, putting her feet up on the table.

"Try me." He half smiled.

"Alright then. People had metal in their heads, they used little staff like devices to wage war from a distance, and everyone had a personal flying ship." Ciri said.

"And why would you leave a world like that? Come on, at least try to make it believable." He droned out.

"Told you wouldn't believe me." She rolled her eyes.

"Fine." He closed his book with a short snap. "Why don't you show me?" He smirked, holding out his hand.

"This isn't something to do without thought, Lucius." She looked him in the eye." I don't know if i could even take us back here." She finished.

"Well, I don't have much keeping me here anymore...My father's a cunt and my mother's dead. So, what's the harm?" He reasoned, hand on chin. "Gather my books and equipment, and I could easily live in your world."

"Why?" She looked at him like he grew a second head. "Why would you leave everything behind?"

"I just said didn't I? That's not much here for me anymore. That constant pulling feeling went away along with Alduin." He declared, plopping his hand down on top of the book. "Plus, you're not getting rid of me that easily after that confession." He teased.

"Still not ready, huh?" She huffed, impersonating his silky voice. "You really are a bastard."

"Put yourself in my shoes, Ciri." He replied with down looking eyes. "It's a lot to think on."

"How?" She crossed her arms, a challenging stare set onto Lucius.

"How about the fact i've lived twice the amount of years you have. The fact I'll likely live forever now that i'm partially a god... Having to watch the woman I love wither away before me is something I couldn't bare." He muttered.

Ciri couldn't respond to that, and a tense silence hovered in the brisk air of the room.

"See? It's not so simple." His empty laugh rung out.

"Right! So you do love me...Make me immortal too." She demanded, swinging her legs down and slamming her hand down on the table with a thud.

"Ehh, I wish it were so simple." He looked at her weirdly.

Ciri jumped forward and grasped the collar of his robe. "Then let's make it simple." She hushed, a breath away from his face and her eyes ablaze in viridian resolve. "Maybe there's another world out there that can help us."

"T-that's a good idea..." Lucius idly whispered, eyes flickering down.

"Wha- Oh~?" Ciri's eyes lit up. "Enjoying the view?" She teased, realising her straddling position.

"Yes." He nodded without hesitation. "Very much so." He smirked.

Lucius brushed his hand up her thigh as she got comfortable.

Ciri leaned in to close the small gap between them just as a small voice broke the tension.

"Luci~" A girl called out, as the door slammed closed followed by small footsteps.

"Fuck" Lucius groaned. "Just as it was about to get good."

Dorthe came barreling into the room with a small pouch in her little hands "A gift!" She screamed in excitement.

"What's that, kid." Ciri forced as smile, standing up.

"Me and Mama brought you a gift. Hehe... I made it myself." She held up the small leather pouch of red design with a proud smile plastered onto her face, a small black dragon coiling around up to the rim tied with gold rope.

"That's very nice of you, Dorthe." Lucius said with a sigh, his head lolled back with closed eyes.
