Does such a foolish person truly exist? Jack was taken aback. Nevertheless, in his initial plan, Klein still held value!
"Could it be that after donning the mask, the madness dormant in his usual personality was fully activated, causing his IQ to be suppressed and dropping to a certain extent?" Jack speculated, his eyes showing momentary confusion as Klein, who began violently contracting, suddenly piqued his interest.
After a while, Jack pulled up his pants, left the room contentedly, and shut the door behind him.
The unsettling act had brought satisfaction. Witnessing Klein's transformation before and after, even being able to induce fear with just a few words, Jack quickly grasped why Klein was addicted to such behavior.
The sense of contrast is truly fascinating, providing an inexplicable sense of pleasure. The more familiar and frequently seen one is pretending to be a pig and eating the tiger. In comparison, using drugs to induce a hallucinogenic state and then creating a sense of contrast is slightly less sophisticated.
Jack briefly experimented and lost interest. With his strength, there was no need for such detours. Convincing someone directly with his strength could be easily achieved.
"Now that Klein is out, the plan needs adjustments..." Jack attempted to control Klein with bewitching magic while in the room, but Klein's issue was severe. As he fell into a state of fear and instinctively took a deep breath to relieve pressure, the air was saturated with fear gas.
Excessive exposure to fear gas leads to death. Jack had no intention of saving Klein; they were all scoundrel villains, and if they died, so be it. It wasn't a big deal and could save resources.
Since control was not possible, Klein lost his last shred of value.
Jack pulled out his cellphone and made a call.
"What's up?" Gordon answered the phone.
"I've run into a bit of trouble here," Jack said. "Where are you right now?"
"Oh, don't tell me you've ruined another place," Gordon sighed. "I'm at the police station."
"How can you accuse me out of thin air? Do you think I'm the kind of person who goes around destroying other people's lives?" Jack retorted. "I didn't initiate it this time!"
"So, did you really ruin it?" Gordon was on the verge of frustration.
Jack, reaching out to Gordon, revealed the disturbing activities at Arkham on Narrows Island. He disclosed Director Klein's involvement in assisting gangsters and conducting clandestine human experiments, particularly creating a nerve gas to exploit people's fears.
Gordon, surprised by the revelation, expressed concern for Jack's well-being. Jack reassured him, explaining that his body's detoxification mechanisms had swiftly neutralized the effects of the fear gas. However, he noted that Klein, who had inhaled the gas, was not faring as well.
In response to Gordon's inquiry about whether Jack had harmed Klein, Jack clarified that he hadn't physically harmed him. Klein, in a state of fear, had instinctively inhaled more gas, and Jack predicted that he would soon succumb to the effects.
Gordon, puzzled, questioned how Klein, being aware of the nerve gas's harmful nature, could inhale it willingly. Jack, emphasized Klein's mental instability and suggested that his actions were beyond the realm of logic.
As the conversation continued, Gordon delicately broached the topic of involving the cops. While he had his suspicions about Jack's involvement, he chose not to confront him directly, acknowledging the need to address the criminal activities at Arkham.
As the realization dawned on Jack regarding the potential use of saved prisoners as subjects for Klein's poisonous gas experiments, Gordon's eyes sparkled with newfound insight.
"Thanks God!" Gordon thought, contemplating the possibility of leveraging this information to prevent Jack's incarceration. The prospect of the impending punishment became a far more terrifying alternative than the confines of a prison cell.
Gordon's mood shifted dramatically, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of cheerful optimism.
"In addition to this incident, I've uncovered another, more serious matter," Jack announced, turning his attention to the elevator. Recalling that the elevator key was likely in Klein's possession, he opted to bypass the hassle and take the stairs.
Reflecting on Rachel's choices in movies, Jack mused, "Who knows why she didn't choose the stairs after discovering Klein's true identity?"
With a chuckle, he continued, "In any case, where there's an elevator, there must be stairs or other entrances. What if the elevator breaks down?"
Jack descended the stairs, heading straight for the bottom floor.
Curious about the unfolding events, Gordon inquired, "What's going on?"
