A Love Unfated - Love After Marriage
Parents wishes are something you want to fulfill. But you sometimes you're incapable to do it, sometimes you do have your own wishes which go against them, and sometimes you just don't want to. Love for parents or Love for yourself - What should one choose? Niharika in her first life, supported her parents' wishes to not fall in love. They didn't wish her to not fall in love but not to fall in love with any person of other caste. But she couldn't love anybody, not even her husband. She married according to their wishes but her life ended monotonously with death of her husband. She also had an unsuccessful marriage which lasted until her last breath, unsuccessful for the man. She never needed a marriage, let alone a successful one. She regretted not acting like a loving wife for him afterall she only acted all her life for everybody. Her husband had to live his life in pain and agony. Once capable man died with a lot of grievances and unfulfilled wishes. Niharika blamed herself. Her children suffered all because of her. A life she didn't want to repeat. This time she still listened to her parents and married a guy of their choice but she kept herself and her desire above too. All leading to a facade of marriage. But this time, she still met her unfated partner. She decided to compensate her first life's debt. But her choices led her to the love of her life. Her heart rang like a bell the moment she saw him. It was like all roads of her life ended at him. But the man was a taboo for her parents. He was a taboo for her because of her principles. Will she still be able to live her life fully or would her life come to an end just like her last life? Will she have to go through her uncoloured life again and is this still her last life? Will she meet her fated and fall in love? Or will she never be able to understand love? Will she rebel and go against her parents or will she remain obedient as always? Worse yet to happen
Niharika had no other reason. She knew that she couldn't give him love emotionally, so she felt that she should atleast let him have physical satisfaction. Arihant came to know the reason a little late and he never touched her again after that. He felt like he had raped her. It was truly a consensual copulation but a copulation without emotions didn't feel right to him. He loved her too much for his own good.
He came to know about it by chance and then life took a turn for both of them. The happy marriage fir him became his guilty conscience. He couldn't understand his own feelings. It would have been better for him to leave her and leave her life for her.
But he couldn't bring himself to leave her. He knew he was nothing without her. His life would become nothing without her. What could he do. His everyday every minute with her reminded him that she might feel annoyed with him, he didn't know when she might ask him to leave her.
He also knew that if Niharika brought up the issue of divorce with him, he won't be able to say no to her. He has only gone with his mind l, only during copulation and even at that moment he only went far enough where Niharika won't feel bad. Every other time all the decisions were in her hand. But even till the last day of her life, she never asked for the divorce.
Their differences became apparent to everybody. To children as well. But the worse was still yet to happen. As Niharika was confronted by him about her stand on marriage, after which she focussed herself wholly on her career. Resulting in her excessive busy schedule. She started spending less time at home, and inevitably less time with children. They had adopted a child, who was 7 years when they adopted him. They also had a child in their second year of marriage. Both the sons were given equal love.
The time confrontation happened, the older child had already turned 14 years old, who understood things enough. While younger one was still young enough, not to understand happenings around him. Children needed love and Arihant wasn't like Niharika. Though he was busy he could still come back at night. Children could still see him and he could give them time unlike Niharika. Since both of them were busy, Arihant's parents came back to live in Mumbai. They lived in house next to them, as it was easier for them to look after children that way.
But something happened. Both grandparents went to their other son's place. Arihant's elder brother's son had convocation happening and he asked them to attend. The children though were in the middle of exam so they couldn't go. Arihant had to go to New Delhi for business related issue a day before but Niharika wasn't home for 2 months. And both the children had no idea about when would she be back. Children talked to her on video call but it happened a week to week. But this time she couldn't sort out time due to time differences in countries for them to call for a fortnight.
And the bad things happen in worse times. The younger son got into an accident. Nobody was at home, Arihant was still in flight and his phone was switched off. Both grandparents, their uncle and cousin were in middle of convocation so the older child, Anuvrat didn't think that it was right time to call them. Niharika was out of reach even before things happened. He himself was in panic, and had no idea what to do. Though driver and nanny were there but they weren't experienced people in this regard. For some reasons, Arihant's assistant was also not picking up calls. He had no other direct relative to call for money that was needed for surgery. Hospital wouldn't allow operations before payment.
