Cain trusted Edward's judgment on his situation despite appearances. But seeing how weird Edward was acting made Cain's face twitch. Edward was covering his nose with his hand and sitting as far as possible from Bella. The poor girl had no clue what was going through his head as she gazed out the corner of her eye dumbfounded at his reaction.
This confuses Cain because he knows Edward doesn't need to breathe. 'Edward, what the hell is your problem? You are acting as if she smells like shit. You are going to make her depressed.' Edward shot him a glare before pointing at his nose as if to say she does stink.
Cain face-palmed as he reminded Edward. 'I know you are an old man, but did you really forget you don't need to breathe?' The older boy's eyes widened as his body relaxed while his hand covered his face. To this he just slammed his head into his desk causing a loud clatter and disturbing the class.
"Mr. Fennix, is everything all right?" Mr. Banner, the biology teacher spoke his face tinged with irritation. "No sir, I just realized I forgot my textbook." Cain replied quickly as he sat up straight. Thankfully he hadn't gotten a chance to pull it out.
"Ok, that's fine. I'm sure Miss. Weber would be willing to share with you just ensure it won't happen again." Nodding Cain finally acknowledged his seatmate now that he was no longer worrying about his idiot brother. "Hey, do you mind if we share?" Cain asked with a smile on his face.
Being spoken to by Cain the already nervous Angela started to panic mildly. "YES! It's no problem." She hurriedly pulled out her book in panic under the amused gaze of Cain. Seeing her so flushed Cain felt his mischievous bone acting up.
But he didn't want to interact with others outside of his family that much. Bella was an exception as he could feel something was different with her. So with no other choice he glanced at his new brother. Edward was still acting stiff but still less so than before. He seemed uncomfortable around Bella in general and not just because of her scent.
Even now his eyes were locked onto the side of her face as his eyebrows were furrowed. Cain recognized that look well. His face split into a grin as his eyes narrowed joyfully at Edward. He couldn't help but think that this was going to be fun.

Edward Pov
'This smell... So this is a singer.' Edward thought to himself as he glanced at Bella while covering his nose with his hand and staying as far away as possible. As he sat there he could hear his new brother asking if he would be ok. But he wasn't the smell was driving him insane. He had eaten not long ago but his throat started to feel dry with every beat of the girl's heart.
Looking back at his brother while debating if he should ask for help he heard his voice again. 'I know you are an old man, but did you really forget you don't need to breathe?' This time however his words hurt the older boy. 'I'm such a fucking idiot!' Edward thought to himself as he held his breath and relaxed.
As he relaxed he heard a loud thump; startled he turned to Cain who had his face slammed into his desk. Edward looked away from his mentally damaged brother as he zoned out again. 'So this is the struggle Emmett went through. I guess I can't really blame him for the incident anymore. I'm having a hard enough time and he hadn't been a vegetarian for long at that point.'
Edward's gaze flickered back to Bella as he tried again to read her mind to no avail. 'Why can't I read you? Is it because you are my singer, or is that just a coincidence? I can't read Cain either but that's probably because of what he is.' Edward kept glancing at the fidgeting girl as he tried to read her.
As she glanced back and caught his gaze he could finally hear something. 'What does this weirdo keep staring at me for? At first he acted like I was repulsive. Now he looks like he wants to eat me.' Hurriedly Edward looked away from her as he looked out the window.
'God, now he looks like he is scared of me. His name was Edward, right more like Edweird. He is nothing like his brother. Cain is such a handsome and awesome guy. He looks like he could be some kind of fox God.' The words echoing in his head stuck his no beating heart like a drum making it feel like it would move soon. But then something popped into his head.
'This isn't how my reading normally sounds. It's almost as if....' Turning his head Edward's eyes met a pair of glowing blue. Cain's whole face was grinning with narrowed eyes. 'Sup, Edweird wou done creeping on the poor girl yet.' Clenching his fist, Edward returned the smiling face with a glare.

The class continued quietly but in the back there was a one-sided war being waged. Anytime Edward would glance at Bella for too long Cain would say something to mess with him. But he couldn't do anything in return besides glare. In all of Edward's time in school, this class was the longest he had ever experienced.
Once the bell rang Edward shot out of class because he couldn't trust himself to hold back in front of Cain and Bella. Bella watched the back of the older boy with hurt in her eyes. But as she wallowed in self-pity, Cain's voice was heard beside her. "Don't mind him he is a weirdo. He was probably struggling to control his urges by sitting beside someone like you."
His words were a mix of niceties and something more sinister that she couldn't put her finger on. "I just thought he might have thought I smelled bad or something." Lowering her head she spoke quietly. But Cain easily heard it as he leaned forward and sniffed her. Hearing this Bella jolted backward. "No, you smell pretty good actually. I must have been right. He must have been struggling not to eat you up."
Bella blushed lightly as she thought of the deep gaze of the tall dark-haired boy. The almost sharp glare of the boy turned into a smolder in her memories. Slowly they started to walk to the next class which to passed smoothly. Soon it was the end of the school day.
Cain and Bella walked into the office to make their report on their first day. As they walked in they saw Edward asking about transferring classes. Cain wasn't bothered because he knew Edward must have had his reasons besides his bullying. Bella on the other hand felt it was her fault. Not that she was wrong but it was an odd conclusion.
Edward turned after being denied a class swap to see Cain and Bella. He just ignored the two of them and pushed past them and headed to the cars. Seeing the depressed Bella the blueberry patted her back and walked forward. "I told you don't mind him he is a weirdo even among us." Bella just nodded lightly before following Cain to check out.
After parting in the parking lot Cain walked to the rest of the family. Alice seeing Cain skipped over and jumped and clung to his front. Cain's steps didn't stop as he kissed the excited pixie. "How was your day little pixie?" Using her arms to hold her up she leaned back to talk to Cain. "Same as always but this time I had a foxy to miss. I wish we had at least some classes together."
She hugged Cain tightly as she spoke the last part. Cain moved his hand to stroke her back as he finally reached the rest. Everyone smiled at the new couple with one exception. In response to the glare that Edward was beaming him with Cain just waved and spoke. "Sup Edweird did you enjoy the class?"
