Chapter 74

When Leonardo's eyes fell upon Gotham, he just let out a sigh. It was worse than what he recalled from the movies he saw. Crime was truly rampant here and the few policemen who weren't accepting bribes were handing tickets out left and right cautiously. For many didn't dare to capture a few since they would probably end up in the hospital or the river the next day.

'Well, I hope Gotham has enough jail space.' Leonardo thought to himself.

He truthfully didn't care who the other party was. If he has the evidence, he will throw them into the police station. As for what happens after that, it is not his problem but the higher ups headache though they should play by the rules too. Since if they take bribes or favors then he doesn't mind arresting them too.

After landing and heading into the Police Station he is assigned. Leonardo saw various drawings, worn down counters and various families holding small children with anger. If they were for the police or rival gang members, Leonardo doubts they knew the answer either.

"Can I help you?" A woman in her thirties asked, relaxed.

"Where is Commissioner Gordon? Leonardo is here to report." Leonardo said.

"He's up in his office." She replied lazily as she continued to pick her nails.

"Thank you." Leonardo replied as he walked up.

Leonardo only sighed at the relaxed attitude and could only shake his head. He thought that Bruce Wayne should really change his way of trying to save this city. Just running around in a bat suit is just adding to the chaos.

Knocking on the Commissioner Gordon Office, Leonardo heard a voice saying entered. Walking inside, he found a slightly thin-faced man with a large mustache, boxed frame glasses and serious looking face. Overall the man appeared to be in his late thirties or forties.

"Leonardo Kent here to report." Leonardo lazily said.

Leonardo truthfully did feel a bit lazy and not because of a lack of sleep, but just his mood. He was hoping to have a place on the west coast and be near Aurora. Now he is stuck in this crime ridden city where crime is the normal day time job and legal jobs are next to against the law.

"Great, you're here." James Gordon said happily before he looked up. "Aren't you a bit young?"

After watching his boss sigh for a moment, Leonardo soon got his role. He was supposed to team up with someone called Rolan, but he was shot last night. So he was temporary tossed to someone call Collins.

Collins was a slightly grumpy looking man in his thirties who was dressed nicely. He had fairly short dark hair with a few gray patches appearing. While his body was slightly chubby around his stomach, he was in fairly good shape.

"So you're the new guy, Gordon got." Collins snorted. "Welcome to corruption city."

"Yeah." Leonardo let out a soft hurray.

"Well, let's go out to give you a quick lay of the land." Collins grumbled. "Now when you do things in this city, there are a few things to look out for. Otherwise you properly end up in the hospital if you're lucky or with a bullet in your head. Also, you don't need to be nice with most criminals since they most likely stab or shoot you if they have a chance. Keeping your life is the least of the criminals' concerns."

"What about the Bat thug?" Leonardo asked.

"Arrest him if you can. I doubt it will happen, but Gordon seems to tolerate him a bit unless he steps out of line." Collins waved it off. "We got more things to worry about then some rich guy running around."

Leonardo just shrugged. There is a fairly high chance of him catching the guy since Bruce Wayne is just that paranoid about others in his territory. However, Leonardo had no interest in going out of his way to deal with him.

For when Bruce decided he can't help himself and needed to pay him a visit. Then Leonardo didn't know nor cared much as he followed Collins out to the cruiser. There, Leonardo found a couple guns and a couple rounds, but besides a few other things. It couldn't be said to reach the standards of what each police cruiser needed.

"Yeah, it's not a lot, but the thieves in the city don't care if the car they rob is a police car or not." Collins stated before he said anything.

While Collins was chatting, Leonardo noticed a man who was walking by and made his nose twitch. From the man was the ironic smell of blood and stagger in his steps. His eyes were diluted as he rapidly tapped his finger on his legs as he walked on the sidewalk in slightly worn down clothes that recently sewed up.

Leonardo held up his hand to Collins as he walked over to the man. Then he just lightly grabbed the man's shoulder and kneed the man's stomach as a crimson knife slid out of his sleeve. Where it bounced on the sidewalk as Leonardo pulled out his freshly given handcuffs.

After reading him his right, Leonardo handed the man off to Collins who just blinked as Leonardo looked at the way the man came from. Using his vision, he saw a man laying in a pool of blood in an alleyway a few buildings down.

"Call an ambulance. The man might still be alive." Leonardo lightly jogged towards the man after grabbing the first aid kit.

"Hey wait." Collins hurriedly called out.

However, Leonardo just carried on where he saw the man. Upon arriving, he began to do some advanced first aid. Where he managed to stabilize the man for the most part by the time the ambulance appeared and the man was hauled off. Though he did ask the hospital to keep him under lock and keep once they patched him up since he was under arrest for drug dealing.

"Hey, hey. That guy is part of the Black Mask crew." Collins said as things settled down.

"So what?" Leonardo asked. "If he has a problem with his dying minion being arrested, then let him come. I will throw a pair of silver cuffs on him too."

"I will just call you a fool, but I hope you can stay true to your words." Collins lightly praised.

Leonardo just nodded before Collins to the station to fill in the paperwork. Which didn't take much time since he just wrote it fairly quickly. So not long after, he followed Collins out on the streets to maintain little order.

During the tour around, Leonardo also tossed a few thieves, killers and other criminals he found into the backseat and police station. At first Collins was a bit worried, but after getting past the wary stage, he just waved it off. Instead, he decided he would just pack away some money for his funnel since most that Leonardo found was connected to a gang or related to someone in a gang.

"I'm going to kill you once I get out." A woman screeched as Leonardo shoved her into a holding cell.

"Well, you're welcome to try." Leonardo shrugged then waved his hand. "The ones behind you said the same thing."

The woman turned and saw over fifteen women alone that were glaring fiercely at Leonardo. In which the woman just lighty stiffens at the sight. While in another holding cell the men bang on the bars shouting at him.

"Yes, yes. I can hear you all." Leonardo said lightly, picking his ear. "I am a terrible person for arresting you for crimes you committed."

"Ahhh!"

After hearing the angry screams, Leonardo went off to finish his paperwork he needed to do for all the ones he captured. Which didn't really take much time on his part, but some worried glances from the other officers. Though he did see a few angry ones and decided to add them to his watch list.

Gotham was corrupted and naturally that included the police as it is not a rare thing for corrupt cops to be a better part of the station. So even if it was going to cause a headache, Leonardo didn't mind if they decided to get in the way as he would have a pair of silver cuffs for them too.

"Ah, Aurora is probably going to throw a fit once she learns of this." Leonardo said to himself.
