Chapter One

A barren land reached the horizons. The trees were thin while the grass, non-existent. A grey ash covered the ground like sand, as if it was a desert. Craters filled the area, but nothing else was present. It was completely barren, except for one anomaly. A body laid on the ground, covered in a white liquid. It was a young man with short black hair. His eyes were shut, but they were calm. A serene look was plastered on his face, as if the biggest worry was just lifted off his shoulders.

The white liquid surrounding his body began to slowly disappear suddenly. It didn't go into the ash or evaporate into the air, rather it began to pour into the man's closed mouth. "Arg!" The young man groaned as the liquid forced its way into his body, but he still didn't wake up.

A few minutes went by and the liquid was completely gone. A silence followed which made the eerie desert seem even more mysterious. "Huuh!" Suddenly, the young man sat up. His eyes were wide open as he stared in a daze for a moment straight ahead. His purple pupils were completely dilated. His chest was moving up and down rapidly as he took small, quick breaths.

Soon, his breathing calmed down and his pupils stopped dilating. He began to look around and inspect his surroundings. "W-where, am I?" His bronze face paled as he quickly got up from the ground. "Where am I? Was I dropped in some desert? How will I get back to my family?" He began to inspect his body and found that the previous changes he went through were still there. This helped to lessen his worry. "Atleast something good did come out of all of that tortue I went through." His thoughts went back to the torture and his pupils suddenly contracted. "ARG!" He began to scream as he fell to the ground. It was so sudden, that he didn't expect it. "AH! It hurts! It hurts!" Using his nails, he began to scratch his face and deep cuts appeared, but this didn't cause him more pain, rather it helped him calm down.

He continued to claw at himself and soon his calmed down, but he was now a bloody mess.

BUGH

Vomiting a bit, he finally calmed down. Tears streamed down his face as he felt the wounds on his body. "It's over, I can't believe it's over!" His face warped into a bloody smile which would frighten any passerby. "I just want to see my parents, I want to quickly become what I promised. I want them to retire and live comfortably, I will finally be able to care for them. No more long hours, double shifts, two jobs, nothing like that. I will finally let them live in ease." He grabbed his face and began to feel it. "They will be so surprised seeing me like this. I'm more good looking now, my mom can be proud of introducing me to people, while my sister won't be embarrassed showing me to her friends. Haha!" His laugh was filled with relief, but also psychoticness. Very few could even imagine the things he went through, let alone actually experience it.

Getting up from the ground, he chose a direction and began to walk. His body was covered in blood and cuts, but he ignored it. Compared to what he went through, the wounds on his body were equivalent to an itch. "No point wasting time, I have to get back. Any direction should eventually lead me to a city or town. I can catch a plane from there and get back to America." He spoke to himself loudly as he walked. "Still, where did he drop me? The devil is what he called himself, but he atleast promised me what I wanted, wait…" He stopped in his tracks all of a sudden. He stared at his hands intensely. "I asked for magic like those in the books, and he promised to give me that, then can I actually use magic?" Closing his eyes, the young man began to concentrate and do what those in his books did when they wanted to use magic; picture it in their minds.

The first thing he thought of conjuring was a fireball, since those were always simple, atleast in the books they were described as basic. He pictured a ball of fire appearing in his hands, but nothing appeared. "Am I not doing this right?"

POP

A sounding of something popping open suddenly appeared in his mind. "What the--" Information began to appear in his mind. Loads of information. He felt a refreshing feeling also wrap around his mind and so he closed his eyes.

Hours passed and finally, the information settled into his mind. Normally, such things would make people go crazy or atleast faint, but that wasn't the case with the young man. He was still standing strong, plus a smile was plastered on his face as he felt all of the information enter his mind.

"So, this is it. This is the information, knowledge, everything I wanted." Knowledge on modern medicine, ancient medicine, anatomy, magic, nature, and even information on languages and other mysterious things. "N-no way!" His face suddenly paled as a single piece of information appeared in his mind. It was a message from the Devil that tortured him.

---

The world you're in is not Earth, it is another world called Gennilia. In this world, you are called Algron Letos, from the Letos family. The powers you sought exist in this world, but in forms different from the story books you read. In this world, magic is called Genia, and people who can use Genia are called Gilia's. People who are unable to use Genia are referred to as Glins.

---

The information continued to flooding in. It spoke about how to use Genia and what type of position his supposed Letos family was in, but the young man ignored it all. The very first line already made him stand still with shock. "No! This can't be! This isn't another world, this has to be Earth! NO!" He went crazy as he clenched his hair and fell onto his knees. "It can't be, this is a trick! I went through all of that just to see my parents happy, I can't be in a different world. This is a trick. A trick!"

----

Algron, as this is now your name, this is no dream of yours and no trick. I sent you to this world instead of Earth since we had no deal of you going back to Earth. All you said was to send you back home after two real-world years. You never stated which home, and whose home. I sent you to Letos home as Algron, so whether you accept it or not is up to you. This will be my last message to you.

----

"NO!" Algron felt dizzy as he fell onto the ground. He laid there, not moving as tears streamed down his cheeks which was covered in red. "No, no, no!" His voice turned into a whimper as he continued denying it. "This has to be Earth. No, this has to be Earth. I went through all of that, I went through so much. This has to be Earth." His voice choked as he spoke in denial. He lifted his hand and looked at through the bloody tears. He clutched his chest tightly as he felt his breathing become slow. "Mom, dad, what did I do this for? I thought I could make you happier, but now I can't even see you." His face turned pale as blood leaked out of his mouth. He saw a stick on the ground and crawled towards it, albeit slowly. After reaching it, he lifted it up with his shaking hands. "Since I can't see you guys, what did I do this for? I might as well just die." He closed his eyes slowly and stabbed the sharp, skinny stick towards his throat.

"WAIT!"
