Its an interesting start, it totally sets the mood and makes you curious as to what actually happened. At the same time it gives you a rough idea of how bad mankind can be. It gives off that edgy vibe and I love it haha XD Its structured well :D

Feels like either the woman was his deceased wife, who paid a heavy price to kill the murderers, or a friend of our mc who regretted not saving both of them in time. Either way, this is intriguing
