Doomsday Pigeon
In a site full of mostly Chinese novels, this is a breath of fresh air. Surprisingly the author isn’t racist toward the Japanese and you can tell he researched well because of all the mythology and spirits. It’s like cultivation in a modern world but a whole new game and different kind of levels. The translation and editing is some of the best I’ve seen in a while too. I hope this gets chosen, so please guys, give it a try.
Sending lost souls to Buddha with one palm. I wasn’t expecting much from this novel but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a pity though that it’s apparently on hiatus and doesn’t have that many chapters yet. Spoilers. Let me explain the world background. Taking place in Japan, supposedly 90% of people are religious and the main religions are Shintoism and Buddhism. Religion isn’t as strict as irl, you can smoke and have fun but there are still some restrictions. This is mostly due to spiritual energy and evil spirits existing in the world. Now, evil spirits and Yokai aren’t secrets. The world knows about them though regular people treat it as mysterious and scary. The police will often outsource special cases involving spirits to temples and shrines. Regular people will also request for spirits to be taken care of if they are being haunted. This is a pretty good summary, not gonna explain everything. The main character is a transmigrator who appears in this world and becomes a monk. He is very hard working and smart though he seems to have actually become a monk mentally and rejects all advances from girls so he can do more training. And yes, he is handsome. But, he has trained too hard though and is pretty powerful. He only has his abbot as a frame of reference and since he too is very powerful apparently, the MC thinks he’s only pretty good. There are ranks among monks and shrine maiden btw but you can read it yourself. So anyways, he comes from a small temple so he needs money to expand the temple. That’s the main motivation or goal that he has. There is also of course getting stronger but that’s secondary. Now there is someone that I’m guessing is the female lead. She is a shrine maiden and isn’t too bad. They meet and she takes him along on missions to record videos and she pays him part of the remuneration. I don’t know how to describe her but she’s likable. He gets more famous and takes on bigger jobs, there also seems to be some connection between these cases... Translation is great, I don’t remember seeing any mistakes. Grammar is good too. Really liked the story. Pretty high quality stuff so far. Again, it’s a shame there isn’t much right now but it’s still good.
This "synopsis" will kill charm of this novel. This novel is pleasent supprise for me. After years of reading webnovels I could guss basic story of novel just by reading title or synopsis. But this one suprise me by fresh feeling while reading .let me tell you first few chapters is very let down but after that you will never knew how your time spent until you need to pay 40 th chapter. I strongly suggest this novel to all readers. wish you a happy reading.
This is the story of a monk who is basically overpowered compared to the enemies he faces. 800 year-old Yokai? Sent off to Buddha in one hit. Fortunately, the protagonist is Japanese, so Chinese nationalism is almost guaranteed to be non-existent. That's a plus. This novel is great for a casual read. Plot is enjoyable. Definitely better than the other trash cliche novels out there. Give it a try and it will make an excellent addition to your reading list.
One of the best novel available in webnovel. mc is character design very good unlike other novels. Even after knowing he was op he stll act like normal person not like ****ty MC's who goes to annihilate whole family for simple reasons. So far no silkpant appered . No clishe.. a heart warming + horrer(small) story about daily life of a monk. Try it.. Ps: chances of good novels selected is low. Let's ask buddha to help to select the novel. Namo amitabha 😄
I read the entire raw and it is essentially completed so don't feel sad about it being on hiatus. This novel is very good. It takes place in Japan which if you understand the character of many Chinese writers you will understand why that is so refreshing. There is very little in the way of character development, and ******* is pretty much nonexistent but its an enjoyable read nonetheless. I would highly reccomend. The uukanshu raw google translate is pretty good too so definitely don't hesitate to keep reading.
Legit one of the most interesting stories to have come across this site. 100% money maker here. I want to say take my money, but QI has a bad track record of approving the good novels for some fucking reason. Stats aren't that hard to track.... Clearly this novel is popular already. MC and the world making a interesting premise. It has a little something for everyone, and written well so that everyone can enjoy it.
This is a relacing read but its a shame that it did not get picked. The ML is interestingly unassuming and the story is different from what I usually read. That is a good thing, as sometimes its nice to broaden's one horizons. I cannot talk about other characters as its early yet. But I like this story.
