Small issue. ice isn't made by compressing the space between water molecules. The water molecules aligning and creating regimented space is what creates ice. which is why ice floats on regular water. The regimented space contains more air which creates buoyancy. Although creating ice was likely the best way to hold the fish. The experiment was interesting, just slightly off.
My thoughts about this story: even if the Mc loses his power when he goes to another record, he should get powerful quicker then compared to the first record. even if there is such a situation like for example: the different records he decides to go to function under different laws. which would mean that the power from one record won't work 100% the same way in another, but there are always exceptions. if this would true then the most important thing would be the concepts he learns; lets take avatar the last airbender for example: he already figured out how to bend water and fire, but I'm sure he will figure out the rest. I'm not saying that this will happen it's just a what if, a passing thought that was, at least to me, interesting
