CHAPTER 5

Silverstone Pack

 Alpha Riven of the Silverstone was having a disagreement with his younger sister, Aphrodite.

"Please brother we have to go" Dite begged her brother Riven who had sworn he would never have anything to do with the Wade family.

"I already told you, I am not going" Riven could no longer concentrate on his paperwork. He heaved a sigh and smiled at his sister.

"You know what Dylan did to me, Aphrodite. I am not ready to face him just yet" Riven confessed to his sister. He did not mind being vulnerable with her. She was the only person he could talk to about anything.

"You cannot let him have this much power over you. You need to face him" she urged her brother.

"He stole my soul mate from me! How can I move on from that?" Riven snapped but immediately calmed himself.

"I'm sorry for yelling but this discussion is over"

"Flora was not your mate. If she was, she would not have been stolen. You fell in love with someone who wasn't your mate and it did not work out. Wait for your own mate and treat her right when you find her"

"That does not mean I am going for the memorial" Riven repeated his stand on his sister's request of him going for the memorial of Monroe Wade, the late alpha of the North Pack.

"You still have a week to change your mind. The event is in seven days. Think about it" Dite begged. She stood up and gave her brother a kiss.

"I love you and remember who the late alpha is to us" she whispered in Riven's ear and left.

 Of course Riven remembered. The late alpha Monroe was a very good friend to his parents and automatically that meant the children were also close. Dylan, Aphrodite, Riven and the daughter of a pack member of the North Pack Flora were all friends. Riven and Flora became close with each meeting and before they both realized it, they had fallen in love.

The turn of events made everybody worried. They were not soul mates but they planned to mark each other when the time was right. Riven hated to remember the worst day of his entire existence. He never imagined Flora could do something like that to him.

FLASH BACK

"This is Flora and Dylan. They are both from the North Pack" Alpha Nightshade said introducing both members of the North pack to his son. The alpha knew his son Riven needed friends. He was always working and training. He wanted his son to have a life outside being the future alpha. To the alpha's joy, they soon became friends. Both Dylan and Riven soon became closest of friends. As two young fighters both training to become alpha they had a lot to do together. As it is said every relationship has its ups and downs. Unfortunately both men remained in the downs.

 At nineteen years old Dylan was very much envious of Riven who was unaware of this brewing hate. Riven was better than Dylan in everything except physical combat. People felt more drawn to Riven and before Dylan could realize most of the people he knew liked Riven. The height of his hatred for Riven was when Flora spoke to him about the crush she had on Riven. This was a friend he had loved for the longest time telling him she liked someone else. Dylan felt betrayed. Dylan was convinced that Riven was intentionally talking everything away from him. From that day he swore his pack was going to be the most powerful and influential in all of Green Moss. 

Flora unknowing of the love Dylan had for her opened up to him as a friend and told him about the crush she had on Riven. On first sight she was attracted to the alpha and she knew she needed to be friends with him before she could have a chance with him as a lover. Riven did not seem like the type to have a mindless fling. He required intentionally and intimacy in all his endeavors. 

"I like someone" Flora said that day to Dylan on their way to Silverstone pack.

"Who is it?" Dylan asked acting like he was not interested in what Flora just said. He was of course interested. He hoped the 'someone' was him.

"Riven" Dylan stopped in his tracks. He was so angry. After everything Riven had taken from him? He still wanted the only person he had ever loved?

"Why?" Dylan screamed. Not noticing his body language or anything Flora laughed at Dylan's reaction.

"What do you mean why? He's good looking, he's nice and let's not forget, he is an alpha" Flora answered Dylan's ridiculous question.

"I am also an alpha" Dylan immediately countered. 

"Huh?" Flora was confused. How did that have to do with her liking Riven?

 Ever since that day there was a change in Dylan. He became the worst version of himself and nobody could understand why. His friends did not understand what was wrong and nobody could guess what was wrong.

Meanwhile Dylan refused to back down from the fight. He refused to let Riven take Flora from him. He could have every other thing but not his love. He started his mission of winning Flora over six months into her relationship with Riven. He waited that long because he could tell that Riven had fallen hopelessly in love with her. He wanted to hurt him too.

Dylan had the upper hand in the situation because Flora was first his friend. He knew what would make her fall for him and unlike Riven, he would not hesitate have her.

Months passed and Flora was now in a dilemma. She was in love with two alphas and was confused on which of them to pick. The friends did not realize this dilemma at the moment but Flora hated not knowing. She decided to have sex with Riven. It had been a year into their relationship and he had not touched her once. She concluded that if he touched her, her love for him will be intensified and she would no longer be confused about Dylan who was just being tje perfect person to her despite his dirty attitude to others.

"Baby" Flora whined as she clung unto Riven. Riven was trying his best to be respectable. He knew what Flora wanted but he did not want her to regret it. What if she found her mate tomorrow? Would she not regret sleeping with him? He did not want that.

"Don't tempt me" Riven warned. Flora stood up and stood in front of Riven.

"That's exactly what I am doing. I want you to have me Riven. It's been a year" Riven looked at her confused. Why did she want this badly?

"It's the Winter Moon Harvest eve. Why don't we wait until after the harvest?" Unsatisfied Flora flared up.

"I was right. You do not find me attractive enough. I know you are not a virgin Riven so what is stopping you from touching me?"

"Of course I am attracted to you. Why would you think otherwise?"

"You are seeing someone else then. There is no other explanation"

"Let's talk about this after the harvest. Tomorrow night. I have a meeting for the eve now. I love you" Riven said as he gave Flora a quick kiss. If Flora insisted on sex he was willing to give her that.  Flora stormed out of the pack house and she remained alone for the rest of the day. About two hours to the Winter Moon Harvest Eve she went back to Riven's room to get dressed.

Riven walked back to his room an hour to the celebration after series of meetings to ensure thing go as planned. He walked into Flora dressing up. Her long ash looking hair let down. Riven walked up to her and hugged her from behind as she perfected her makeup.

"You look gorgeous my love. The most stunning" Instead of a smile like Riven had expected he was welcomed with a frown.

"I'm sorry ok? I promise things will change after tomorrow" Riven whispered in her ear allowing his hands to wander into her exposed to breasts. His fingers found her nipples and he caught them between his thumb and index finger. Flora leaned into him moaning. He rained kisses on her exposed neck as he touched her.

"I promise" Riven promised again as she stood up straight. Flora frowned but stood up quickly to stand before him.

"Do it now" She pulled him down for a kiss and Riven did not resist her. They found the bed in the room. Riven rained kisses all over her body worshiping her like a goddess she was.

"I love you and you deserve more than a quickie on our fight time together. You have to get dressed" He helped Flora up. The rest of the few minutes they had to put themselves together were tense. Riven knew that Flora was angry but he genuinely meant what he said. She deserved better than a quickie.

 Flora left the room with saying a word to Riven. She just needed to be away from him. She bumped into Dylan as soon as she got to the venue.

"Hello gorgeous" Even Dylan could not make her fake her smile. She was not happy.

"What's wrong?" Dylan asked when he noticed the frown on Flora's face.

"Riven" Flora whispered. She did not know if she should mention her sexual frustration to a man who also kept her up at night but she trusted him and he was Riven's friend. He probably could help her.

"What has he done?" Dylan wasn't very interested in hearing the couples fight but at the back of his mind he knew this could be a good time to make his big move.

"He has refused to touch me. I just think he does not find me sexually attractive. I'm so embarrassed having to admit this out loud" Flora was tired of it all.

"Only a fool of a man will not touch you the first chance he gets. You are gorgeous Flora and your body is to die for. You are all I think about" The declaration surprised her. He did not think Dylan liked her too. She looked around to see if anyone was paying attention to them. When she was satisfied that nobody was paying them any mind, she suggested they walked away from the celebration.

"Let's talk about this in a quiet place" Dylan wasted no time pulling her away from the noise of the celebration. He took her to the garden.

"I love you Flora. I always have"

"Why didn't you say anything?" Flora asked hurt. They were friends. Why could he not tell her that he was in love with her?

"I was scared but I am done being scared Flora. I am ready to risk it all. Are you?"
