chapter 8

'What time is it?'

'I don't know, probably breakfast soon.'

'Wonder if Harry is okay…'

'Yeah, we heard Molly, he isn't at the Dursley's anymore.'

'Hope he is alright.'

'Yeah…'

They were in their room; They had stayed in their room all day yesterday, not even coming down for lunch, nor dinner. The rest of the family thought they had locked themselves up working on some new invention or something, but that was not the case. Molly had once again forbidden them from going out of their room.

Everyone had been out after breakfast yesterday, so they didn't see, nor hear, how Molly yelled at them again. This time it was about their inventions and how they were selling them. She was mad at them because she meant they were wasting their time with a never-to-be-realized dream. So, she had ruined their products and the list of orders they had gathered since summer break started. She had conjured a stick and began hitting them over their backs too. When she was done, she had made them stay in their room.

Once night fell, they had tried to sneak down to eat something, they were starving, but Molly had been in the kitchen, on a floo call. She had been talking with Dumbledore, and he had asked her if Harry was with them, saying he had run away from his "family". Fred and George hadn't gotten any food that night, only worry.

Suddenly there was a knock at their door, "Fred? George? Mum said to call you down for breakfast," Ron was at the other side of the door.

"Yeah," Fred began.

"We'll come down now," George finished.

Fred looked over at his twin, 'Time for another scolding from the woman calling herself our mother,' he communicated to George through their telepathic link.

'She is not even our mother,' George sent back.

That had been a revelation none of them expected, Molly was not their mother. It had been a few days after their 16th birthday, they had been in the unused classroom they had turned into their base. They had been experimenting, trying to make something new for their joke shop. Things had gone horribly wrong, and the potion had exploded. The potion, a prototype combination between forgetfulness potion and reviling potion, hit them full force and when they came to again, they remembered some things.

They had been three, their Papa and Dada had just gone missing when Aunt Molly had come for a visit. She had pointed her wand at their dad first, with a flash of light from her wand their dad was lying on the floor. She did this to all of their older brothers too. Lastly there was only them and Ron left, they remember Molly saying something about Ron being too young to remember anyway. She had then pointed her wand at them, and everything went black.

They had been shocked to their cores when they remembered, they now understood what had happened. Their aunt, Molly was their aunt. She had obliviated them, making every one of them believe she was their mother and married to Dad.

'We can't do anything about it…' Fred began.

'Yet,' George agreed.

They couldn't do anything, the one time they tried Dad had fainted, and when he regained conscious, he didn't remember anything they had said. They had reasoned that there was a spell or something that stopped him from being told and had begun planning on how to fix it. it was a slow prosses, they didn't even know what was interfering to begin with.

They shared one last look before going out their room and down for breakfast.

The food was good, and the mood in the kitchen could only be described as pleasant, but both Fred and George felt suffocated. Molly was talking with Ron, asking about Harry. They knew she wanted to figure out if Ron knew where he was. Ron, oblivious to this, answered that he had gotten a letter from Harry four days ago, talking about hot weather and gardening for his aunt. He said he had answered back but wouldn't expect an answer back for at least a few days yet. Molly obviously didn't find that sufficient enough information and began talking with Dad, instead. Totally dismissing Ron, who went back to eating.

"I was thinking Ginny and me could go out for a mother-daughter date today," she smiled at Dad, saying how she felt some girls time was in order for both of them.

Dad seemed totally fine with that and said as much, "The boys and me can hold down the fort, then," he joked.

When breakfast was done Molly and Ginny flooed away to who knows where. Right before their brothers and Dad left the kitchen, they saw an owl. An elegant owl that was sitting in the window still, looking very self-important. Dad thanked the owl, who hooted, before taking and opening the letter.

The more he read the more confused he looked, when he was finished, he looked up at the boys, "The letter is from Gringotts. They want all of us, except Molly and Ginny, to come to Gringotts as soon as possible," he said. "Even Bill and Charlie," he added, looking down at the letter again.

George looked at Fred, they didn't even have to use telepathy to know what to do, "We'll go get ready, come on Ron, Percy!" and up the stairs they dragged their older and younger brothers, "Dad, you floo call Bill and Charlie!" Soon they were all ready to floo to Gringotts, having agreed with Bill and Charlie to meet them there.

When all the Weasley-Prewetts were gathered in the floo room at Gringotts they were guided through the maze that was the Gringotts corridors to their account manager's office.

"Hello, Gornuk. Can you tell me why you have called all of us here? And why Molly and Ginny couldn't come too?" Dad asked the goblin behind the desk when all of them had sat down on the chairs in front of the desk.

"Lord Weasley, it has come to Gringotts attention that some of our customers has had blocks, such as potions, spells, and compulsions, put on them. Some have even been obliviated," Gornuk had everybody's attention, "We have contacted you to have all of you take this inheritance test to see if any of you have had this happen to you."

Fred and George were staring wide eyed at the goblin.

'This is it! We can finally expose that woman!' Fred basically yelled.

'I know! Dad and everyone can finally be free from her!' George yelled back.

"I won't need this test, right, Sir Gornuk? I have to take one of these every other month anyway, and the last one I took was three weeks ago," Bill suddenly said, looking up at Gornuk. Every eye had turned to him as Bill spoke, but he didn't budge.

"That would be correct, Curse Breaker Weasley-Prewett, as you work at Gringotts you would have to take this test often. You have probably already been cleansed of all affects," Gornuk said, when Bill nodded, he continued, "No, you will not be required to take another test so soon."

"Thank you," Bill said.

After that, it was a quick proses to have everyone take the test. Dad, Charlie, Percy, and Ron was kind of confused as to why they had to write Weasly-Prewett and not just Weasley, but they complied anyway.

Gornuk gathered the parchments from the six and took a quick look over each of them before calling out something in Gobbledegook. He turned back to the red-headed family, "You all have blocks. Potions, spells, and compulsions. Furthermore, Lord Weasley, Mr. Charles, and Mr. Percy all have been obliviated," Gornuk explained to them, "I have called for some goblins to take you all to the ritual rooms, where we will hold cleansing rituals to rid you of these affects."

All of them, except Bill, were herded out of the office and through the maze of corridors, being split of and into different rooms. Fred and George knew this was the start of something big.
