Practically Bad

I slept for seventeen hours, before waking up, eating twice as much food as before, then passing out again. Only thing I remember in between is Ben telling me I looked terrible.

I can't say when but somewhere before then and the car ride, I kind of just decided to accept him as family. But the worry in his eyes made me feel uncomfortable so I told him I was fine and would be back to school in no time at all.

Funny, could've sworn I was on summer break.

My dreams were weird. It felt I was watching a movie in first person about some kid. Nothing interesting beside his family situation. Both parents pass away and he starts living with his aunt and uncle. He's pretty smart but not to many friends, has a big crush on some red head though.

Then some strange parallels started to show. His aunt and uncle look like May and Ben, his only friend looks like the kid from before, and I swear I saw the red head leading the pack of kids from before when I passed out.

One part stuck out to me the most though, at the end the kid was on a field trip with his class to some kind of state of the art genetics lab. Apart of some kind of employer program thing. I saw an exhibit of some insectoid looking things and I could only think, 'What a strange looking spider.' Then my hand twitched.

"Gaahhhh!" I sat up right. It felt like the revelation ripped me out of my sickness, or was my fever breaking enough for my head to clear up?

"I'm Peter Parker!" That wasn't my voice, or wasn't before. I leaped out of bed and made for the closes reflective surface. An eerily familiar, but still very different, face stared back at me.

I touched my face, then dragged my hands all over my body, recognizing new but similar features. "This is so weird . . . this is so . . ."

This body was close to what mine was but with new and improved upgrade. First off, tall. I know why I fell earlier, I'd have to relearn to walk with these lanky legs. Second these muscles, I could feel them stretching my skin. I'd never been as chiseled in all two of my lifes.

Nock! Nock! Nock!

"Peter? Are you alright in there? I heard a loud thud, you didn't fall out of bed did you?" A small worried voice came from the door. I recognized it from my dream, May Parker, Peters aunt.

"Peter?"

"No no. I'm fine, I just, getting my balance." It was strange to talk to her. Not to long ago she was fictional to me. Hell, was fictional.

"Well, so long as you say you're alright. If you're feeling better today come on down, I made breakfast."

"Uh, I'll be down in a minute." I heard her light foot step leave the door and down the hall. I turned back to my reflection.

This was probably the weirdest part, to look in the mirror and see someone else looking back. I started looking at everything; my arms, legs, chest, torso.

The changes were subtle but evident. I wasn't as tall, nor as lean. My face was similar, hair still brown, but my it sat differently on my head. My eyes were brown too, but now they're blue.

I looked down, a guys most prized possession and I had to deal with a software update. At least canonically Peter was always considered healthy in that department. I reached down and grabbed the edge of my underwear . . . and pulled.

"I should probably put some cloths on."
