Incidentally Dumb

I strode down the stairs, exited to meet Ben and May. Which is weird, considering I already know them.

I hopped the last two steps and rounded the corner to the kitchen. Ben was just sitting down at the table and May was preparing three plates of breakfast.

"Good morning!" I grabbed some milk from the fridge, poured my self a cup and sat next to Ben.

"Morning yourself. You're look a lot better today, had me worried for a bit." He smiled at me. A feeling of deep respect and love started to come from somewhere within me. It was strange, unnatural and normal were normally conflicting turns but they meshed perfectly in this sense.

I stopped staring for an awkward amount of time and coughed at the silence, "Y-yeah, sorry for worrying. And thanks for taking time off to pick me up, I know you had work that day. Did the guys in the office heckle you much?"

"Oh no. In fact they insisted I go. Had me out the door before I even finish the call, heh heh." He laughed, pulling a fresh plate of eggs to him.

"They might as well consider themselves family with how much Ben talks about you, 'Got the smartest kid in his grade under my roof!' Honestly, they hear enough about Peter through you that they could do trivia about him." May coyly added.

"Now, I don't talk that much about him, I'm just proud of the letter we got." He leaned over and winked at me. I remember the letter, it was from the principle. He congratulated me on my high test scores this last semester. This field trip we went on was suppose to be a reward for the kids who tested well this year before summer break, however, the majority of the students were from the football team who had won state this year.

"Well, at least your feeling well enough to go back to school Monday." May smiled at me, setting down both our plate before taking her own seat.

"Last week of school, I get sick and I still have to go. You really are a stickler." I grumbled, breaking my egg yoke onto my toast. 'Hum, I used to hate eggs, weird.'

She gave me a stern look, "School is important, no matter how many days you have left. Maybe, you could invite friends over for summer, and of course Harry is always welcome." and then spoke softly about my friends. She knew Peter really only ever had Harry as a friend, but always held hope that Peter could get more.

"Fiiiinnnnneeee. I'll go." I gave a exaggerated pouting face before chuckling and digging into breakfast.

The rest of the time I spent with them went swimmingly. Even though this was my first time with them, it truly felt as if I'd know them my whole life . . . which I guess I did.

After spending time with them, I found myself back in Pete- my room? Looking around and admiring all of . . . my stuff. Photos of people I new from Peters memory's. younger Ben and May, Harry and peter, and even pictures Peter had taken for the school.

I thought it was cool that Peter had this as a hobby even before the Bugle . . . that was until I saw a pattern in all the pictures. 'Come on Pete, your better then this.'

In the majority of the picture for the school, I saw a face that I remember distinctly from Peter's memory's.

'Marry Jain Watson. She's very beautiful, but I think I'm gonna take these down. She's definitely my type but I know how much shit that she gets involved with when dealing with Peter.' I never liked her. From comics, the movies, and games she was always my least favorite character.

'I know she might be different from how she's show in everything else but, its hard to break a first impression.' No MJ for me, and with that decided I started taking down most of the picture of her, choosing to keep the ones I thought actually looked like Peter put emotion into taking.

"Much better."
