[The City Of Bones]

She dared a look over her shoulder and sure enough the green eyed man was barreling towards her at an inhuman speed. Desperately crawling into an abandoned alley she was left alone, with nothing but moonlight and this man in front of her. She stared, mouth wide open, in absolute horror, as he crouched forward, looking her up and down. His skin looking paler, and the moonlight giving it a blush gray hue. His pearly white canines poked out of his lips as he smiled. The mans sandy blonde hair covered half of his face but that didn't stop him from piercing her with his gaze. "I told you I v'ould find you," he spoke darkly with a thick Russian accent as he backed her into an alley; his eyes scanning over her as Silla tried to remember where she had seen those eyes before; a distant throb in the back of her mind not allowing her to. Chapter Twenty Nine: Forebear Euthanasia

Silla was now in critical condition, and she was constantly monitored by Lowson once they returned back at the manor. The earlier events that transpired were planned this he knew by who however was unknown. But by the gods he was goings to find out and when he did he Declan would rip them limb from limb with his bare hands.

But first he had to track up an old lead he had since been too busy to follow up with. He had a slight idea of the persons behind this and while he did Silla would be safe at the manor.

"Master!" A guard suddenly called from behind him.

"I have received a transmission that the target is headed towards this designated location." The man running up to him handed him the tracking device. Of course Declan had his suspicions of Silla's close relatives the first of course being her father who was easily bought off with money. He had gathered information that Shea was indeed coerced into offing his fiancé but she also figured she would take him for her self as icing on the cake. Let's just say that he was more than she could handle by herself...

Although Declan knew Silla's father held a grudge against both of them. The main reason being the money he offered in return for Silla was never paid. The document he signed when he sold his daughter to him for thirty thousand being falsified on his end. So when Declan got Silla, he was legally bonded to her but wouldn't have to hold up his end of the bargain with her father. The mans face upon finding that out was quite funny; he should have read the fine print but was quickly blinded by his own greed. It was very clear upon meeting him that he didn't give a rats ass about his fiancé and so naturally he wasn't getting squat from Declan.

Besides he had an inkling as to why Silla had broken ribs and internal damage when he first took her to Wilhelm. He knew her father had something to do with it whether she admitted it or not.

Declan had already warned her father when he came looking for him after the money he was promised in return for his daughter. He had told him that if he ever came to learn that he had laid even a finger on Silla, he would surely be back to kill him. The greedy pig may have thought that he was only bluffing, but if only he knew how serious the green eyed man was when he made that threat.

No one under the sun could touch Silla and get away with it.

"A-Ah! Fuck!... A-Are you insane?!" Blood gushed from her father's mouth as he struggled to open his swollen eye. His arms were tied behind him, making him quite helpless and pathetic as he breathed heavily, his face contorting in pain as he wriggled in his seat. Declan squatted down gripping his jaw in one hand while his gun was tightly impeded in the other. He glared at the elderly man inhumanly and his fearful eyes cause a smirk to rise from the corner of Declan's mouth.

"I v'ont ask again. V'ho z'e fuck put you up to it?"

It was always the women beaters who had the smallest minds and could not defend themselves. This man, apparently, only has strength for girls since it was quite easy for him to capture the man. When he showed up to Silla's child hood home, he stayed a little further down from the gates. Her father was leaving the house at the same time, his head buried in his own electronically powered device. Declan had hopped the fence at the back and cornered him in a garage as soon as he was about to enter his holocraft. From the looks of it, he was on his way to the red light district. It was extremely pathetic that despite his brawny build, another man was easily able to gun butt him in the head, pistol whip him, step on his groin, and pull him away from his own vehicle, genuinely not caring who would witness the scene.

His anger had clouded every judgment, and he was impatient to see the mans blood on his hands. Soon he grasps a handful of the old mans withered gray hair and pulled his head back to look back at him. "I fucking asked you something, didn't I? V'ho. Paid. You. To. Do. It? Do you not understand English?"

Declan sighed taking out his late lunch. It was a simple yet delicious treat that his very own fiancé had taught him to make and for that he treasured it as it had taken him forever and a half to make and perfect. It was a fun late night treat and one of the first bonding experiences they had ever had up till their separation. "Are you terrified? You should be. At any rate I'm not going to kill you... But maybe after desert. I've put a lot of effort into z'e cherry pie," he spoke as he forked a single bit of the sweet heaven into his mouth thinking back to what his beloved would say if she caught him pigging out on cake at noon. She would no doubt scold him.

"Y-You! You are insane!" The man yelped through his gag.

"Perhaps."

Silently eating and taking his time he finally finished and was tired of the annoying old man staring at him. Declan soon stood to his feet and aimed his gun at the elders knees. The green eyed man smirked as her father gazed at him with a clear look of trepidation. "D-Don't, don't do it..."

Declan presses the trigger without mercy drilling a hole into the mans knee as he cried out clenching his teeth and writhing in pain. "Ah! Fuck!"

Blood spurs from his fresh wound and he pushed back his sandy blonde hair in frustration. He was losing what little patience he had. "I v'ill not ask again. At z'is point, your silence is only allowing me space and time to decide on how I v'ill kill you." He stated.

His father in law glares at him stubbornly and Declan hissed beneath his breath. This man seemed tired of living. He gashed him across the face with the head of his pistol. His gray head thrusting sideways from the impact and a deep cut forms on his cheekbone as he groaned. Declan's large hands gripped his face and he pulled it to look him in the eyes, his thumb intentionally sinking into his fresh wound as the man grunted. Sticking the pistol into his mouth, his green eyes darken in aggravation.

"You're v'asting my time. You do know it v'ill take me nothing to pull z'e trigger and blow your brains out, right?"

"I-I truly don't know! Please d-don't!"

Declan clenched his teeth. "V'rong answer." He cocks the gun again getting ready to shoot but this time to kill. He shot him in the shoulder, and the man cried out again, gritting his teeth in excruciating pain. The old man stared at the weapon, his body shuttering in fear. He knew that he was going to kill him, right there, right then.

"Wait!... He coughs.

"W-Wait, I really- I really don't know!

... I don't."

Packing up to leave finally getting all the information he needed Declan grinned. "H-Hey- Wait! A-Aren't you going to untie me."

"Oh but before I go-"

"I have a few z'ing to ask you..."

"In particular about your daughter." He trailed off leaving the man rather nervous.

"...V"hen I took her back with me I noticed she had quite a lot of bruises along with broken ribs and internal injuries. Don't even try to deny z'e fact z'at it v'as you v'ho did it. You v'ho laid your hands on her. So tell me. V'hat did you do to her all these years?" He shut his green eyes. The infuriation within him has now risen to a higher degree and based upon the mans reaction he now knew all his suspicions were confirmed as he remained silent not looking him in the eyes.

"But you beat her. You beat her, didn't you?" Declan watched him carefully as he made a pained face, refusing to answer the question. He pressed his pistol into the bleeding wound on his knee, and he bawled out, clamping his teeth together.

"O-Okay, okay, I did it-"

"How many times?" He narrowed his eyes.

"A-About every week. W-Why do you want to know-"

"Answer z'e fucking question or I v'ill finish you right here! How severely?" Declan sneered.

"T-Till she couldn't walk..." Her father grumbled.

"A-And- you already know, okay? You already know just please?! Please let me go?!"

Declan closed his eyes in agony and due to his memory he can clearly imagine what the bastard did to her. How scared she must have been, how lonely and hurt.

"You do know that I am going to kill you, right?" He reopened his violent green orbs, gazing into his pleading ones.

"Just let me go, I promise I-I won't touch her again!"

"How long have you been doing z'is to her?" He questioned his head hanging low almost whispering.

"How long have you been abusing her?!"

"J-Just since she was five... His tone skeptical, as he watched the gun in his hand.

"A-After her mother left. P-Please don't..."

Declan hung his head, his eyes burning with what felt like tears. He buried the hand holding his gun in the air, squeezing his eyelids tightly. Five. Five years old.

"V"hat else did you do?"

"N-Nothing I swear!" The man pleaded but Declan gave half as less mercy as this man had given his love. Once again he fired the gun into the mans other knee cap bone showing this time and blood splattering as the man howled inhumanly.

"F-Fine... I-I killed her stepmother, Selene..."

"In front of her?" Declan mumbled as the greying man stilled.

The green eyed man swallowed sharply, looking heavenward as he blinked back the melancholy welling in his orbs. "I am going to kill you for v'hat you did to her. I v'ill not v'ish you peace in z'e afterlife, neither v'ill I hope your soul attains forgiveness."

However before he could carry out his devious blood thirsty plan he was briefly blinded by a glare of light out of the corner of his eye. Something making him pause and look. He gazes back at the beaten man in the chair, but curiosity got the best of him and he follows the gleam of light that reflected on the wall to the source. In the corner of the garage, he saw a small box with its lids wide open directly under the single window of the entire space the sun shining onto whatever was in the box and reflecting its color in a single beam of green light that happened to get his attention by shining directly in his eye.

Taking slow steps towards the object he crouched down looking inside the box and his eyes widened. In it was a single glass tray that held a beautifully crafted necklace one he had thought was long lost. The beautiful emerald snake pendant had small intricate scales lined with gold and its eyes small specs of top grade jade. The entire thing was so incredibly detailed and a gorgeous work of art although over the years it had collected dust and was slightly damaged. It would need repairs. But above all the jewels were much more than an elegant necklace of course they were also a key.

It was a key to a music box one that he had gifted Silla when they were younger and  was crushed under an unknown mans foot. The same man who took away what was his and nearly killed him in the process. Also leaving a scar over one of his jaded eyes. Declan quickly snatched the necklace and placed it carefully in his coat pocket.

How had this man come upon it? He was her father and naturally Declan assumed he had taken it and kept it for himself. Looking into the mans withered blue orbs he suddenly felt himself being pulled back to the moment him and Silla were separated.

Those eyes.

Those murderous cold pale blue eyes. The eyes that brutally beat him and took what was his. The eyes he saw when he was stabbed and cut and when his face was slashed. The man in front of him looked so different from the man who had done those things. He had aged and withered over the years and somehow Declan had not recognized him.

That had been until now. "You." Declan whispered.

"It v'as you!" He now yelled aloud as rage twisted in his cold forest eyes. He kicked the chair back and the old man toppled over, his head hitting the hard concrete as he screamed in fear and pain. Declan moved over to his trembling body and in one swift action he stomped down onto the wrist of the mans dominant hand twisting his foot as the elders bones crackle beneath his clad leather dress shoes. Her father cries out, writhing on the floor like a maggot.

He feebly sobbed mumbling his pleadings as he was kicked in the face. His thick red blood running down his face as he couches up more from his mouth. Declan never ceases he crouched down pulling him up by the collar of his grease stained shirt as the mans head bobbed back his eyes rolling to the back of his lids.

"J-Just let me go, please..." His tears are pink from mixing with the blood covering and running down his face.

He plunged his fist to the mans face, jolting his head to the side as he grunted, struggling to keep himself from becoming unconscious. Declan pointed his gun to his forehead, and his eyes widened and he shook his head. "Don't, don't! I am not the only one! I'm not the only one who planned to hurt Silla! Please, listen, I am not the only one!"

Declan narrowed his eyes at him. "V'hat did you say?" His jaw became tight.

"M-My ex wife... She was paid too! I don't know by who, but she does! Please, she can give you the answers you came here for! " He trailed off thinking back almost spitefully about the woman who left him. Tears spring from his eyes leaving trails down his bloody face. At this revelation Declan froze. Both her parents?

He felt a wave of vertigo as he closed his eyes, taking deep breaths. It was just too much to digest.

"You deserve death and nothing less."

He released her father, and he gazes at him with swollen hopeful eyes. "If you kill me, she will hate you! Silla would not be happy about this?! How would she feel?! To know you are killing your future father in law?! Y-You can't do this!"

"V'ho says she v'ill find out?" Declan adds to the mans unrelenting shock.

"N-No! Please!"

He aimed his gun, exhaling heavily in efforts of easing the fury within him.

"D-Declan... M-Mr. Banehallow, please?!

"V'here can I find her mother?"

"She is probably at her salon over at crestwood bridge. Please..." The man shook his head desperately.

"Please, just don't-"

BOOM!

The bullet pierces his head and goes right through his skull as a puddle of blood seeps through the wound at the back of his head.
