Boosted Hearts - The Street Racing Chronicles
Since the late 1990s, the streets of the Pacific Northwest have come alive after dark with the sound of engines, screaming turbos, and street racers battling for money, respect, supremacy—and the pure joy of victory.
Every racer has a reason for being there. Every car has a story. Alliances are formed, rivalries run deep, and reputations can be built or destroyed one race at a time. For some, street racing is more than a hobby. It’s a way of life, governed by an unspoken code understood only by those who live it. For others, it’s just something to do, something to exploit, or something to ruin.
But they all share the same streets.
Gabriel is a young racer who has learned to navigate the lower ranks of this world with confidence. He has a fast car, a growing reputation, and enough victories behind him to believe he’s ready for something bigger.
Then his ego convinces him to take a shortcut.
Determined to jump to the next level and settle an old score, Gabe risks everything on a race against a car backed by one of his former club leaders. The devastating loss that follows costs him far more than money. It forces Gabe to confront a truth he isn’t prepared to accept: the reputation and street credibility he valued so highly may have existed more in his own mind than anywhere else.
Humiliated and desperate to prove himself, Gabe begins to spiral, making increasingly reckless decisions in an attempt to reclaim the identity he thought he had earned.
Until an experienced racer and car builder steps in as a mentor.
To become the racer he desperately wants to be, Gabe will have to learn that building a faster car is the easy part. He must confront his own ego, prejudices, and preconceived notions about the people around him—and discover that respect isn’t something you can buy, demand, or win in a single race.
It has to be earned.
On the street.
Behind the wheel.
And everywhere else that matters.
