how to get your own book published

Well, getting your comic book published isn't easy. You should start by building a strong online presence and sharing your work on social media to gain a following. It's also crucial to network with other comic creators and attend comic conventions to make connections in the industry. Another option is to consider self-publishing through platforms like Kickstarter or Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.

Generally speaking, the number of books published by an individual could not be freely printed. This was because the publishing house would usually strictly control the number of books published to ensure that the cost of printing and distributing the books did not exceed the expected income. Although individuals could decide how many books they wanted to publish, the publishing house would usually limit the royalties and distribution fees to ensure that all books were profitable. Therefore, if you want to publish a book at your own expense, you should first contact the publishing house to understand the publishing process and relevant regulations, and then plan, edit, and print the book according to the requirements of the publishing house.

After the book was published, it could be sold through online and offline channels. Online channels included e-commerce platforms such as Dangdang, Amazon, Taobao, and Jingdong, as well as Short videos platforms such as TikTok and Kuaishou (which could sell books through live broadcasts). These platforms had large traffic, and many readers preferred to buy books online. Online sales also allowed many authors to earn good profits. The offline channels mainly included traditional distribution channels such as Xinhua Bookstore, Sisyfer Bookstore, Airport High-Speed Rail Bookstore, and large, medium, and small physical bookstores near various universities. In addition, after the reform of the book distribution system, there were still many sales channels, such as publishing houses → distribution houses, delivery shops (first-level wholesale)→ collective bookstores,(city) prefecture-level bookstores (second-level wholesale)→ retail bookstores → readers; publishing houses 'direct sales channels: publishing houses → readers; production and sales channels: publishing houses → retail bookstores → readers, etc. If the conditions were right, he could also try to use these channels to sell books.

This may require some cost and effort, but if your novel is popular, you may be able to publish it successfully and make a profit. However, publishing a novel was not a simple matter. It required many steps, including review, editing, pricing, and typography. In addition, the publication of the novel also depended on market demand and competition. Therefore, if you are not sure if your novel can be published, it is recommended that you first conduct some market research and understand the works and publishing process of your competitors.
