My Witches are Really *Quite* Dumb

My Witches are Really *Quite* Dumb

"Witches are immortal beings who do as they please in the world" It's not that they're extremely strong. They are, but not that much. It's that nobody wants to suffer the consequences of confronting them. Killing a witch instantly condemns you with the "Karma" mark. This mark links your soul to that of the witch's reincarnation. In simple terms, the witch you killed now has your home address, the names of your entire family, and your personal information. Naturally, this strikes fear into any reasonable being, who sees suppressing their hatred and keeping their head down as the only option. Thankfully, our protagonist is anything but reasonable. Applying the famous shark mentality of our world, he devises a witch-hunting business with no losses. He charges the poor souls seeking revenge. And after obtaining the karma marks, he welcomes the reincarnated witches with open arms. Raising them so they become his source of income once he retires. After all, in a medieval world, pensions don't exist. If you had to name a single flaw of this business, it would be that the karma marks cover their whole body with horrible tattoos, making them look like criminals. Oh, and also that the reincarnated witches remember everything from their previous life, including the moment of their death. Too bad the protagonist doesn't know that. Warning: Protagonist with very, very questionable morals. Witches handling household chores like the perfect daughters any father would want. Slightly crazy nobles. Characters full of contradictions. And a world deeper than the protagonist can see. For those of you who enjoy fun, character development, and a bit of comedy, welcome. On the other hand, if you're looking for something darker or more progression-focused, try something else; this is about getting a few uncomfortable laughs. ⏤--- A few extra details. On the cover appears the witch Debaka, a pretty cool demon who lets people squeeze her horns. She loves eating and spending time with other witches. Unfortunately, making friends isn't her strong suit. Tags that may or may not matter to you: No Yaoi, No Yuri, No NTR, Yes Harem :v

The Painting of a Hallway: A Scary Story
There could be a painting in the hallway that seems normal during the day. But at night, figures start to move within it. Maybe it was painted by a deranged artist who trapped souls in it. As people pass by the hallway at night, they can hear faint whispers coming from the painting, and sometimes, a cold hand seems to reach out from it, making the whole place feel eerie.

Why are scary hallway stories so popular?
Scary hallway stories are popular because they play on our primal fears. Hallways are often narrow and confining spaces, which can make us feel trapped. When something scary is added to that, like a ghost or a strange noise, it heightens the sense of danger. Also, they are often based on the unknown. We don't know what's at the end of the hallway, and that uncertainty is what makes these stories so captivating.

What are some examples of scary hallway stories?
There's a spooky hallway story about an old apartment building. The hallway on the top floor was always cold, even in the middle of summer. Residents would often see a strange old man standing at the end of the hall. He never moved or said a word. One night, a tenant woke up to find the old man standing at the foot of their bed. They screamed and when they turned on the light, he was gone. Since then, people avoid that hallway at all costs.
