Riftborn: Origins
Seven years ago, twelve-year-old Matt Sullivan lost everything: his home, his peace, and his parents, on what should have been the happiest day of his life. Now haunted by nightmares and buried in guilt, he lives quietly at the edge of Eldridge Falls with Ella, the sharp-tongued, fiercely loyal girl who saved him.
But when a violent tremor reveals a long-forgotten facility beneath the forest, Matt is struck by a surge of unknown energy. He survives, but he doesn’t walk away unchanged.
As rifts begin tearing open across the land and creatures unlike anything in this world pour through, Matt and Ella are pulled into a fight they don’t understand, hunted by threats on both sides of the rift. Matt’s abilities are growing, but so is the cost of using them. Each surge of power brings new risks, testing the limits of his control and the bonds he relies on most.
And as the Kingdom’s buried secrets begin to unravel, Matt realises that his powers, and the rifts themselves, may be tied to a catastrophe long hidden from history.
