At a Thanksgiving gathering, we had a tradition of going around and saying what we were thankful for. My little cousin, who was only five, stood up and said he was thankful for his superhero cape because it made him fly in his dreams. Everyone started laughing at his innocent and creative answer. It was such a heartwarming and funny moment that we still talk about it every Thanksgiving.
When people do silly things during the holidays. Like on New Year's Eve, someone might be so excited that they accidentally set off the fireworks inside the house instead of outside. The chaos that follows, with everyone running around trying to put out the small fires and stop the smoke alarms, is really comical. And also the reactions of the people involved, their shock, embarrassment and then the laughter that comes after the initial panic make it a funny story.
One Thanksgiving, we invited our new neighbors over. My dad was carving the turkey and trying to be really fancy. But as he made the first big cut, the turkey slipped off the plate and landed right on the dog's head. The dog ran around the house with the turkey on his head, and we all chased after them. It was chaos but also super funny. In the end, we salvaged the turkey and had a great meal.
During a summer holiday at the beach, we were all trying to build the best sandcastle. I worked really hard on mine, making tall towers and a moat. My friend, however, had a different idea. He decided to make a sand sculpture of a mermaid. But it looked more like a half - fish, half - alien creature. We all had a great laugh at how funny it looked and ended up taking pictures with it as a hilarious memory of our beach holiday.
Well, on a Thanksgiving holiday, we went to my grandparents' farm. My cousin thought it would be a great idea to try and ride one of the turkeys like it was a horse. He chased the poor turkey all around the yard. The turkey was running for its life and my cousin was running after it with this crazy look on his face. Eventually, the turkey got away and my cousin ended up face - first in the mud. It was hilarious.
Last New Year's Eve, we were having a party at home. I was in charge of the fireworks. I lit one up and it started spinning out of control. It flew into a pile of dry leaves in the yard and set them on fire. We had to quickly put out the fire. It was a chaotic and funny start to the New Year.
Sure. I was shopping for Thanksgiving once and there was a special on huge turkey - shaped pillows. This one woman was so excited about them that she started hugging all the pillows in the display. She looked like she was being attacked by a flock of giant turkeys. It was really funny.
Last holiday season, I was in a store when a little girl was begging her mom for a toy. Her mom said no, so the girl put on a pair of reindeer antlers and started dancing around the toy, saying she was a magical reindeer who needed that toy to fly. It was so cute and funny that the mom finally gave in.
During my holiday travel to Paris, I was at the Eiffel Tower. I wanted to take a really cool selfie. So, I set my camera on a timer and ran to pose. But just as the camera was about to click, a guy on a bicycle rode right in front of me. The photo was of me looking shocked and the cyclist looking confused. It's still one of my funniest travel memories.
I went on a holiday to a tropical island. I was so excited to go snorkeling. I put on my gear and jumped into the water. But as soon as I did, I realized I had put my fins on the wrong feet. I struggled to swim and kept going in circles. I must have looked really silly to all the other snorkelers. It took me a while to figure out what was wrong.
