Thoughts on the Battle of the Survival of the volunteers

Answer 1

"The Chinese People's Liberation Army: The Battle of Survival" was a very infectious and educational film. It would have a variety of deep impressions from different angles.

From the perspective of historical restoration, the film's presentation of the battle on Iron Plateau was very exciting. The battle on Iron Plateau was carried out on the open plain, which was not dangerous. It was extremely difficult to fight against the mechanized troops of the American army. The film showed the tactical application in detail. For example, the 189th Division of the 63rd Army of the volunteer army fought against 50,000 United Nations troops (mainly American troops) with about 9000 troops (about 12000 in the movie). They used the tactic of breaking up the troops into nearly 200 combat units and flexibly blocking the enemy in platoons. They successfully delayed the enemy for three days and bought time for the 188th and 187th Divisions to dig trenches and fortifications on the plains. In addition, there were also tactics such as giving up and recapturing Position 1, using dams to release water, etc. These tactics demonstrated the wisdom of the volunteers in the war. It was not just a simple confrontation of strength, but also gave the audience a more specific understanding of the battle.

From an emotional point of view, the film showed the cruelty and difficulty of war from a family perspective. The story of the Li family of three was like the portrayal of thousands of families who had entered the war at that time. The plot of these characters made the film full of tension. The plot of the protagonist Li Xiang's heroic death easily resonated with the audience, letting the audience deeply understand that the good life today was exchanged for by the blood and strong will of the martyrs. It was easy for the audience to be drawn into the movie. Many people had tears in their eyes when they watched it, and the theater was often filled with tears. This reflected the strong emotional appeal of the movie.

From the perspective of the audience, some people had family members who had participated in the relevant battles or had a deep understanding of the history of the volunteer army, so they would feel more immersive when watching. For example, some of the audience's fathers had participated in the Battle of Changjin Lake, or had relatives who were volunteers. These would make them feel more deeply about the war scenes in the film, the sacrifices and dedication of the volunteers.

From the perspective of the film, it was not only a historical review, but also a wake-up call. The hostile forces such as the United States and the West will not give up their desire to destroy us. We cannot lose our sense of risk and suffering because we are immersed in the status quo of peace. We must learn from the spirit of the volunteer army. Under the leadership of the Party, the people of the whole country will unite as one, inherit the fine traditions of our ancestors, and strive hard to achieve our grand goals.
