He goes forward to attach some real life history just to back up some of his ideas driving at combination of fiction and non-fiction. The characters of Ifunanya and Chikeliuba are the author's brain. He included it to proof that love still exists and people shouldn't give up for love, because it is a furnace through which life ore and expansion are produced. Though the end of the characters are tragedy. But that is what actually happens in real life. Many times our success becomes a burden and our love ends up tragically. With all of them reflecting our moral diverse.
