Beiliang was a regime during the Sixteen Kingdoms period. It was established in 397 AD and was destroyed by Rouran in 460 AD. Beiliang had experienced five monarchs. The founding emperor was Duan Ye, who reigned for four years. After him was Juqu Mengxun, who reigned for 33 years. Next was Juqu Mujian, who reigned for seven years. The last ruler of Beiliang was Juqu Anzhou. The development of the Beiliang regime reached its peak during the Juqu Mujian period, but in 439 AD, the Northern Wei invaded Guzang and captured Juqu Mujian. The Beiliang regime eventually perished. In 460 AD, Juqu Anzhou re-established the Liang regime in Gaochang, but it was not under the rule of Beiliang.
