The plot of Monkey King's Uproar in Heaven in Journey to the West showed Sun Wukong's rebellious spirit and his pursuit of freedom. At the same time, it also contained a profound philosophy of life. Judging from the image of Sun Wukong, he was a brave and fearless representative who dared to challenge authority during the Uproar in Heaven. He was born with infinite magic power. Ever since the birth of the Flowerfruit Mountain, he had been constantly exploring the world, breaking through the boundaries, finding a place for the monkey clan to live, and learning from his master to break the curse of life and death. He entered the Dragon Palace to retrieve the Golden Cudgel and made a ruckus in the netherworld to obtain the Book of Life and Death. In the face of the Heavenly Court's amnesty, he first saw through the false title of the horse, and then he was angry because he was not invited to the Peach Banquet. He fought all the way to the Soaring Heaven King Palace. He shouted out the words " the emperor will take turns to do it, and come to my house next year ", which was extremely defiant. After practicing his Fiery Eyes in the alchemy furnace, he continued to wreak havoc in the Heavenly Palace. Even the heavenly soldiers and generals were no match for him. During this period, Sun Wukong was an indomitable hero. He was not bound by the rules of the Heavenly Court and pursued freedom and equality in his own way. From a philosophical perspective, this plot reflected the idea that freedom was relative. Everyone yearned for freedom, but the kind of unlimited freedom that Sun Wukong had initially pursued did not exist in the real world. Over-pursuing unlimited freedom often led to restrictions. Sun Wukong was finally suppressed by Buddha at the foot of the Five Elements Mountain. At the same time, one could also see the drawbacks of arrogance. Sun Wukong's arrogance made him unable to see his own situation and eventually led to the fate of being suppressed. From a literary point of view, the plot of Uproar in Heaven was full of fantasy. All kinds of magical spells, fierce battle scenes, and unique mythical characters, such as Taibai Jinxing and Erlang God, added rich imagination and artistic charm to the story, making it one of the most wonderful parts of Journey to the West.
