Su Shi was a famous writer, poet, calligrapher, and painter in the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty. He was known as one of the "Four Scholars of Su School". His poems were known for being bold, unrestrained, vigorous, and open-minded. The theme of his works involved politics, economy, culture, nature, and many other aspects. He was especially famous for his lyrical poems that described mountains and rivers and reflected social customs.
