POV: MC
I shot up with a startled gasp. Nearly falling out of my bed. As I look around at my room I paused before blinking in confusion.
"Ok. I must have had way too much to drink last night because this is definitely not my room."
Instead of my familiar messy apartment room I am used to. I instead see what looks like a very clean and sparse room that I have never seen before. Before I am able to explore my unfamiliar surroundings, pain slits my skull as I am hit with the mother of all migraines.
As I lay on the floor, my mouth opened in a silent scream. My mind is flooded with a large number of fragmented memories. Time seemed to stretch on to an eternity as I struggled to keep myself sane throughout the pain.
Eventually the pain goes away and I Pull myself off the floor. Taking a moment to review the new bits of memory I begin to realize what happened to me. It turns out that I died. Not only that but I died in one of the dumbest ways possible.
You see I was playing Yu-Gi-Oh at my local game shop and I was running one of my most simple yet favorite Exodia decks for No-banlist night. Now normally this would not be a problem. Hell I am fairly well known as the local Exodia player since I tend to run some form of Exodia most days. Exodia has been one of my main decks for years. Ever since I grabbed my first set of him back when I was in middle school.
Anyways, back to the story. I had just managed to bring out Exodia on my opponent's first turn using a sangan, monster reborn and dark hole. Plus, I had a pretty good starting hand.
Like I mentioned before, normally this would be a non-issue. The keyword in that sentence is normally. See what I failed to take into account was my opponent; a guy not normally a part of no-banlist night; had just been subject to the rest of my mate's various different meme decks all night. To add fuel to the powder keg that was this guy's mental state, my mate's were gooning it up by acting out the scene from OG Yu-Gi-Oh when Kiba got Obliterated by Yugi with his grandpa's deck.
Also I am pretty sure my opponent was under the effect of either drugs or alcohol. I couldn't tell. So while me and my mate's were gooning it up by acting out one of the most iconic and memed moments in the anime. This guy was glancing between me, my mates and my full set of Exodia.
I could see the moment when the guy finally snapped. When his left eye began twitching on his completely dead expression. His face morphed into a snarl as he reached into his jacket and pulled out a Glock. I only had enough time for my eyes to widen before I felt a slight pain in my forehead and then darkness.
Coming back to the present. I am pretty sure I have been reincarnated since I am not dead nor in a hospital. Plus I can clearly feel that this is not my body.
How do I know that? Well first off, when I was alive I was pretty sure I was a guy and now I have a fairly large pair of tits hanging from my chest. There is also a distinct lack of penis in-between my legs. Lastly, I am a full foot shorter than before.
Heading over to the room's open closet to look my new body over in the full mirror hanging on the inner door. I nearly cursed as I looked at myself. Before me stood a Hazel eyed young teenager with straight brown hair cut into a bob cut.
What stood out to me the most was my current clothes. I am wearing a fairly simple outfit. A graphic T-shirt with a cartoon of the Yu-Gi-Oh monster Sangan. A pair of ripped jean shorts held up by a black leather belt with a millennium eye embossed on a gold belt buckle. Finally hanging on the left side of that belt is a similarly themed deck box.
I begin to have a sneaking suspicion of what world I have been reincarnated into. Turning around to do a more thorough scan of my surroundings I pause at a particular item sitting on my desk. Walking over to it, I do a quick examination of said object to confirm my hypothesis.
Nodding to myself I mumble out my conclusion.
"Yup, that is a real, functional duel disk. That confirms it. I am in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh."
hey yo, Bob here. Thank you for checking out my first ever Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction! I'm going to try to post everyday if possible. However, this also means I will be posting shorter chapters as to not get burnt out. anywho, I am really excited to finally start posting this story.
I actually got the idea when I first saw the new Exodia support cards that came out this year in 2024. I noticed that no one ever used Exodia as their main Ace in the MC of any fanfics I have found. Thus, I decided much like Thanos. I'll do it myself. Anyways, I plan on posting the first four chapters today before returning to a daily post schedule. So look out for that.
